Superstorm Sandy's victims brace for new storm
CBS News ^ | 11/5/12

A new storm was expected to hit the New York-New Jersey region that's still shivering and cleaning up after last week's Superstorm Sandy, bringing the threat of 55 mph gusts and more beach erosion, flooding and rain by Wednesday.
SNIP
The storm is currently projected to eventually pass within 50 to 100 miles of the wounded New Jersey coastline on Wednesday. The storm is expected to bring winds of up to 55 mph, coastal flooding, up to 2 inches of rain along the shore, and several inches of snow to Pennsylvania and New York.

One of the biggest fears was that the storm could bring renewed flooding to parts of the shore where Sandy wiped out natural beach defenses and protective dunes.

Amen to that, K. Sandy came at a bad time, with winter coming on, and this Nor’easter won’t help things at all.

Someone please call over to FEMA and tell them a storm is coming, to be sure and stock up on water, tis too late to help them get their boss elected, but it might be well if the are better prepared.

Is there any plan to bus flood victims out of the area for awhile? I remember getting Katrina victims out here in CA that were taken in by relatives and such. Are those NJ and NY people just sitting there waiting to get soaked again? What’s the plan?

(I hope this is OK...it’s part of an email I received yesterday)..

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

Dear Patriot,

A short time ago I spoke with Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs and the need in New York City continues to be at times overwhelming.

The need for meals has been unbelievable. They have seen more than 3,000 people lined up at a time to receive a hot meal from our volunteers. Today, Gary and his team will provide between 4,000 and 8,000 hot meals to residents of the lower east side of Manhattan.

They are feeding people as fast as they can get supplies to the Mobile Kitchen!

Tomorrow, Gary and his team will be relocating to an area of the city that was even harder hit. Gary is told that some New Yorkers in this area still have not received any assistance, so Gary wants to bring them hot meals starting tomorrow.

Simply put, Gary and his team still need our help. As you know, it costs about $10 to provide a hot meal to a family of four. Perhaps you can help Gary feed two or three families today and throughout the coming week.

Please go here right now to help Mercy Chefs provide hot meals to New Yorkers still suffering from Hurricane Sandy and continue other outreaches:

Yeah,,, they help a Russian spy Ship into a US port that was in distress from Sandy but they can’t help their own citizens in distress.

A wake up call to all Americans to be prepared. This storm (Sandy) was not unexpected so people had time to get stuff. OTOH if you have to leave your house, have a good kit together to be able to survive a couple of weeks away from a damaged house. Sorry for the folks who don’t own or are allowed firearms. Cops and street gangs can ignore Bloomies stance on that.

From wxrisk (Face Book site) about 4 hours ago. This guy is usually quite accurate ..... let's hope the trend IS correct and the storm is starting to shift:

Most of the models today have shifted the nor'easter further off the coast. I do not know if this trend is correct or not.... but it could be. *** Since late last week I have had concerns that the phasing of the two pieces of energy -- one over the great lakes and the other over the southeastern states -- might take place a little too late to bring the system close to the coast.**** This may be what some of the models at midday are catching on to as they are shifting the track of the coastal low a little further off the coast- more to the east.

I am praying that God will speed up the storm a bit and prevent blue voters from getting to the polls. I don’t want anyone injured, just shivering in their little blue cocoons.

I just don’t understand. How about cancelling all school and sports activities and put people into the school gyms and athletic facilities. All of these have the capability to prepare food and it would certainly be easier to address people’s food and housing issues over the shorter term than having them spread out everywhere. They could return home as soon as the power is restored.

The trailers that FEMA is thinking about providing these people. Sure hope they are not the ones FEMA gave the people in NOLA. They made people sick and they leaked. Just a whole lot of tax money down the tubes. Plus they take up a lot of room, require transport capability to the site and each one only accommodates a few people and they still have the issue of getting food to these people. There is absolutely nobody supposedly in charge who has a lick of sense.

I’m not saying that this couldn’t be bad. But the seas were extremely high with Sandy not only because of wind speed, but because of the huge AREA that the storm covered, giving the storm more room to work up the waves and the surge.

Also, because of the full moon coinciding with the storm.

Those who are in vulnerable spots are going to have to watch out, but I don’t think this will be as bad.

One problem I am reading about is there are no dunes left Sandy washed them all away.

Yes, true. A lot of dunes and banks and breakwaters have been damaged or washed away. And places that have already been badly hit certainly don’t need any more trouble. They have enough to cope with already, and cleanup of even moderate damage will be more difficult.

On a similar subject we need to make sure the MSM doesn't get a free pass for purposely ignoring Sandy coverage that makes Obama look bad. I refuse to play their catch up game after the polls close tomorrow.

Prayers for them... Curses for the Unions

In my world the Unions would be without and begging and the Populace would be dictating the terms of the Unions survival.

But I live in Texas and hold the 2nd Amendment in high regard and oh yeah I prepare for just such an occasion so my opinions will not matter to them.

Alice through the looking Glass and Reality get to meet face to face ...

My money says they still Vote obama, cause he says he cares and Govt is their only Salvation (and they believe)... which takes me on a totally different Tangent about Guns, Bibles and Clinging...

I want to help them... but they are too stupid to be helped, they won’t let me, maybe it’s best to just let Darwin’s Theory play out...

TT

PS You just know California is next, maybe it’s better to grow a thick skin now... the arrows will soon be so numerous as to block the sun (will we decide to Fight in the shade of their arrows or let them Villianize us and capitulate?)

PS PS My favorite line from my Dad... “You got to be Brave to get Old” he told me that many years ago, I know that I am up to the challenges ahead of me... just hope those in New York and New Jersey are up to the challenges that now face them.

PS PS PS I hate the word “hope” it has been highjacked and now resides with many other 4 letter words.

TT
