Donald Trump decried the Electoral College and called for a revolution in the wake of the reelection of President Obama on Tuesday night.
Trump, in one of the most extreme reactions to Mitt Romneys loss by a high-profile Republican, called for Americans to march on Washington.
The real estate mogul and host of reality show The Apprentice has been an outspoken supporter of Mitt Romney. He used Twitter to object vehemently to the Electoral College system that he predicted would give the win to Obama and the popular vote to the GOP challenger.
Obama was declared the winner of the election on Tuesday after multiple networks declared he won Ohio, thus weighting the electoral map in his favor. Romney was still leading in the popular vote shortly after midnight.
Trump called the Electoral College a disaster for a democracy a total sham and a travesty.
But either Trump or his team was deleting his tweets as fast as he sent them, including two that called for a revolution.
One read: We should have a revolution in this country!
Another said: More votes equals a loss...revolution!
Unlike Trump, other conservatives on Twitter were less riled by Romneys loss.
Erick Erickson, founder of the influential conservative Red State blog, was critical of the Romney campaign on Twitter and counseled that Obamas reelection hardly means the end of the conservative movement.
Erickson actually indicated he was resigned to the outcome before the major networks called the race for Obama, tweeting a thanks to Team Obama before following up later with a "congratulations" and a promise.
But longtime Republican campaign strategist Karl Rove disputed the Ohio call in the minutes after most major networks declared it a win for Obama, warning it was too early. Fox News heard him out and even took viewers on a trip backstage to the decision desk to question the math behind the decision. The network ultimately decided to stand behind its decision to call Ohio for Obama.
I just wanted to raise the question, which I did, Rove defended himself a few minutes later, accepting the call.
Thinning the herd makes it stronger.
Stupid, just stupid. Total lack of understanding of why we have it and what it safeguards against.
I agree with you, but communist takeovers are bloody affairs and are hard too.I don’t believe freedom will stand a chance without it.
How did the Romanians ever rid themselves of Chowcheesecurl? And how did the Polish people ever break free; or the Czechs? WE aren’t as enslaved as they were....yet.
WHAT or WHO caused the turn-around, both mental and spiritual, that resulted in the dictators being thrown off and sent to their eternal reward? Military coup? If THAT turns in the wrong direction we could suddenly find that we’d escaped the skillet, but were now in the fire.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
- Donald Trump
Wait...
What I cannot understand, is those who wish to overpower the working class of people by retaining political power at any cost are going to do once the working class decides to give up and become part of the parasitic class that keeps them in power. And that WILL happen.
All the trade skills will be lost, the people who are keeping this kind of government in power aren’t skilled and dont want to work, for the most part.
Er, Mr. Trump?
Either give me ten million dollars for no reason at all or just shut your F#$!*% pie hole.
Time to cut the cord to these Obama phone loving entitlement slugs. We need to make sure that we now starve this monster known as the federal government.
” Time to cut the cord to these Obama phone loving entitlement slugs.”
With obama in the white house and democrats controlling the senate, how do we do that?
You are absolutely correct, but for a revolution to have a chance for success we need leaders, and some state governors to participate. Can we get that?
Seriously, Trump, shut the **** up.
You had the chance to do something useful, yet you simply grandstanded and made those who trusted you look like fools.
Now you’re trying to incite people into doing something even more foolish.
2nd.... We need to bring this punk POTUS down to his knees by making sure we minimize all purchases of anything except for the bare necessities. A little bitter medicine for these marxist bastards will do some damage. Because face facts... last night was probably the tipping point, where entitlements drove these results. Starve these entitlement slugs, and we can get our country back.
That’s true but they are also not the world’s reserve currency and many of those countries are counting on us and Europe to bail them out. Plus if you count in the unfunded liabilities we are over 100 trillion in debt.
Well said.
Revolution does not have to be violent.
It can be as simple as millions gathering to sing (there was such an instance in another country but I forget how exactly it went)
It can be state rebellion (as in not obeying obozocare, overruling tyranical fed ‘laws’ with state laws....)
We the people, can cut off blood-line (money) to big gov to keep it from enforcing abusive ‘policies’ and redistributing wealth ....
Time to regroup and formulate strategies to resist obozo criminal gov.
Don’t give up! We the people are resilient.
Yep, violent uprisings are definitely not the way to fight them.
Sabotage, now THAT’s the way to go...
OK, I just made myself grin a bit.
The collapse will be a huge learning experience for a lot of people, especially the dependent ones.
There are not enough Americans left to fight for this country. Those of us that would answer the call of Lady Liberty are too old and too few to make a difference. It is over.

A good point.
What you have to remember is that these are people who quite literally don’t care about how to make things work. They truly believe that progress is accomplished by passing laws and mandating things. It’s other people’s problem how to keep society and the economy functioning despite the impediments they put in our way.
To date they have been generally successful because we had an immense stock of societal capital built up that we’ve been expending.
At some point that will run dry, as you point out, but even then they will not accept responsibility. Psychologically, they can’t. Instead there will be a more and more shrill scapegoating of an increasingly small productive group of people.
This isn’t going to end well unless we somehow turn it around.
I think we can get elected state governments that will support this in certain states, and I believe we already have some who will get behind this if it gains more legitimacy. It starts with us getting the message out there, and hopefully get support from some influential conservatives in the media, and if that happens then I believe that respected leaders with the background to legitimize the revolution will emerge.
I understand that I can't do all that much alone, but I believe trying to gain support for this cause is the only option left. I do believe there are enough of us out there now. It's time to start thinking of a clear strategy, and planning for what we will face. Even in a peaceful revolution the states will probably be withheld federal funds, and that should be countered by stopping federal tax collection in the state. There are a lot of issues like this that we can make plans for so we are prepared for every scenario we may face.
I would also like to see Conservatives from different spectrums make a temporary truce with each other to save this nation on the huge issues they alone agree on before getting back to the big differences they have. As big as those differences are we all alone agree on some issues that are just as important.
No, thinning the herd is what Socialists always wind up doing.
52% of the voters last night picked Socialism.
You’d have to thin a good portion of 60 million people.
