Exit polls: Obama's winning coalition of women and nonwhites
WLS AM ^ | Nov 7, 2012

NEW YORK (WLS) - A coalition of women and nonwhites helped re-elect President Obama to a second term Tuesday night.

Obama has always performed better with women than with men, and with nonwhites than with whites. But on Tuesday night, those numbers were so much in his favor that they built Obama a powerful firewall against a dropoff in support from white men and independent voters.

Nonwhite voters turned out to vote in higher numbers than ever. They made up 21 percent of all voters. In 1996, they were just 10 percent.

That new bloc was evident in Florida, the perennial swing state that was thought to be in Mitt Romney's corner. Hispanics came out in force for Obama, in greater numbers than in 2008 when Obama beat John McCain among Hispanics in Florida 57 to 42 percent. On Tuesday, he beat Romney among Hispanics 60 to 39 percent.

And as the country tinted blue for the second presidential election in a row, it also got a little less white.

The kick-all-the-Mexicns-out crowd and serpents like Akin and Murdouch cost us the election. No doubt in my mind.

You might say that the GOP got Fluked. Perhaps the voting vaginas bought into the “War on Women” thing.

yup, can’t wait to hear some of my Obama-loving relatives bellowing when their taxes hit the roof, prices go so damn high their heads will spin, gas, electricity, and when they either have to pay for their own piece of Obamacare and/or get dropped altogether from their coverage by their jobs..they don’t have a clue what is coming by 2014 with that alone. Many are one issue voters, no idea of the big picture.

Amnesty is now a done deal. What can the Republicans do to top that? Place a revolving door at the border.

Some people say that one should have a republic, rather than a democracy. What this means, is that citizenship rights are for all, but voting rights are for those who own property, or meet other requirements. Otherwise, people who have no assets, will constantly vote themselves more entitlements.

That sounds wild, but in fact is in keeping with history. Many countries have been destroyed by feeding their underclass.

Not quite. You are double counting, non-mutually exclusive categories.

These stats do not reflect the huge number in Blue states that never ever marry at all, therefore never get divorced either.

May want to check this post out because it reinforces what I originally posted about republicans and single moms, i.e. there are more of them in your states.

I sense no desperation from them in needing to find a marriage partner, at least if they are under 30

I’m not a social scientist, however my own observation is that most women are not overly concerned about marriage until they reach 25. Then the level of concern increases proportionally with age. After 30, their biological clock starts ticking and the sense of urgency goes into overdrive. At that age, they become actutely aware they’re no longer as desirable as their younger counterparts.

Men, on the other hand, tend to get more desirable as they mature and become more successful. For men, the peak age is probably 38-42. Before the age of 25, women tend to have the upper hand in relationships. After the age of 30, men call the shots.

When I was in college (last 70s, early 80s), there were a lot of women who were actively trying to bag a husband before they graduated. In fact, I think many went to college just to get their MRS degree. But I don’t think that’s as prevalent anymore.

But, hey, maybe CA is so different, that that has changed too.

Posting like that will bring the women back to the GOP in no time.

>> a great starting point for "change" would be to repeal every Amendment after XV. <<

So you'd postpone the Presidential inauguration until March (by repealing the 20th amendment), allow President Obama to serve unlimited terms (by repealing the 22nd amendment), require poll taxes to vote (by repealing the 24th amendment), keep the office of Vice President vacant if the Vice President becomes President (by repealing the 25th amendment), and allow Congress to raise their own salary at any time (by repealing the 27th amendment)?

Stupidest post of the day on FR.

Dick Morris: Why I Was Wrong Sandy, in retrospect, stopped Romney’s post-debate momentum. She was, indeed, the October Surprise. She also stopped the swelling concern over the murders in Benghazi and let Obama get away with his cover-up in which he pretended that a terrorist attack was, in fact, just a spontaneous demonstration gone awry.

I thought Romney didn't even bring up the subject.

Wow; that is NOT going to win any elections for anybody.

I never said it would. What we want is quite often at odds with what we need.

I happen to like voting. I don’t like people who want to disenfranchise me or anybody else. V’s wife.

Thanks for your input.

I didn't say we'd have to leave it at that. It would be a do-over. After we roll it back completely to that point, wouldn't it be something to see, with the benefit of lessons learned, which amendments would need to pass again and in what form? Could it be that one or more amendments (e.g. XXII) became necessary mainly as the unintended consequences of a previous one (e.g. XIX) came to light?

Stupidest post of the day on FR.

Of course it is, because we all know there's no possibility that you failed to think it through completely. Not to mention that the Founders and most members of Congress before the 20th Century were just not very bright.

RE :”Dick Morris: Why I Was Wrong”

As I said yesterday before any results were in Morris is a dishonest rodent who I cant even listen to. His voice is annoying and the stuff he says usually makes little sense to me, and he says it with confidence.
Wasn't he a Democrat dissed by Clinton now a favorite on Hannity?

Frank Luntz is on Hannity now and is trying to explain what happened. He is pointing out how O ran the most negative vicious campaign this time in recent history and that got him that 4% in the swing states. They didn't vote for Obama they voted against Romney(and as I said it was two rich looking White guys which was a crappy plan to beat Obama).

He is also said that those voters believe much more that O cares for them more than Romney does thanks to that negative campaign and they vote their feelings.

“The numbers that Bill Bennett had on his show this morning were that Obama got 74% of the Asian vote and 69% of the Hispanic vote. That is an enormous problem for the GOP in the future. Demographics is destiny...”

And near the top of the ‘rat priority list will be the legalization of the illegals as soon as possible.

Did you also see the news today that Harry Reid has already announced that he intends to “limit” the filibuster power in the Senate? Didn’t take them very long to jump on that one, eh?

If that's really where we are as a nation, then it's probably best that we let it fail. It won't be easy or fun but, we'll come out much, much better for the experience.
