Many have asked how I am today. Thank you for asking. Here is how I feel:
We have Councils of Vocations, Councils of Eugenics, every possible kind of Council, including a World Council--and if these do not as yet hold total power over us, is it from lack of intention?
"Social gains," "social aims," "social objectives" have become the daily bromides of our language. The necessity of a social justification for all activities and all existence is now taken for granted. There is no proposal outrageous enough but what its author can get a respectful hearing and approbation if he claims that in some undefined way it is for "the common good."
Some might think--though I don't--that nine years ago there was some excuse for men not to see the direction in which the world was going. Today, the evidence is so blatant that no excuse can be claimed by anyone any longer. Those who refuse to see it now are neither blind nor innocent.
The greatest guilt today is that of a people who accept collectivism by moral default; the people who seek protection from the necessity of taking a stand, by refusing to admit to themselves the nature of that which they are accepting; the people who support plans specifically designed to achieve serfdom, but hide behind the empty assertion that they are lovers of freedom, with no concrete meaning attached to the word; the people who believe that the content of ideas need not be examined, that principles need not be defined, and that the facts can be eliminated by keeping one's eyes shut. They expect, when they find themselves in a world of ruins and concentration camps, to escape moral responsibility by wailing: "But I didn't mean this!"
Those who want slavery should have the grace to name it by its proper name. They must face the full meaning of that which they are advocating or condoning; the full, exact, specific meaning of collectivism, of its logical implications, of the principles upon which it is based, and of the ultimate consequences to which these principles will lead.
They must face it, then decide whether this is what they want or not.
~ Ayn Rand April, 1946
So people come to our country, (many illegally) and eventually vote. Many are hired to do jobs American's don't want to do. They are treated and paid SO much better than where they came from and yet, they want the "free stuff" the Democrat's tell them they are "entitled to" and so, they vote Democrat. They left their respective countries for a better life and then vote for the people who keep them down-trodden, all the while telling them they have their backs. They've done it to our black communities for years and most have bought into this nonsense. The 10 poorest cities in the country are all run by Democrat's and they NEVER vote for anyone else, election after election. Democrat's started the KKK, yes, Democrat's (look it up). So, this is where we are at now, we turned the corner yesterday. More people want "the free stuff." Once you get there, it's very hard to turn it around. So if someone has forwarded this on to you and you voted for Obama, you won't believe it...you won't acknowledge this to be true or probably even care because "facts" just go over your head. Democrat's vote on "feelings rather than logic". But I can say this, you will someday, down the road say, "But I didn't mean this!!!!" as our debt comes crashing down on all of us like a sledgehammer.
The housing market went ballistic under Bill Clinton's 2nd term (remember???) and yet because the crash happened under Bush, he took the blame for it. Yet, all we hear is: "It's Bush's Fault." Never mind that "The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 started by Democrat's" forced banks to make loans to people they didn't feel were qualified, putting we, the taxpayer's on the hook for defaulted loans and then, was even enhanced under Clinton! Or here's another one: "He (Bush) spent all that money on the wars (THAT WE ARE STILL IN AFTER 4 YEARS of Obama, by the way). People don't BOTHER to do their homework to see how things happen, they just happily chant the same mantra the mainstream liberal-loving media tells them, year after year, even though Obama has spent MORE THAN EVERY PRESIDENT in our history combined!!! "But he (Obama) had to" spend this money (though all borrowed from CHINA), so many chant, even though it has DONE NOTHING for us. NOTHING except add $6 trillion to our National debt... and Obamacare hasn't even been added to that number YET! Let me tell you this and then I've said my piece. NO COUNTRY HAS EVER THRIVED UNDER SOCIALISM, COMMUNISM, OR MARXISM. No one is FREE and that is why SO many have come here, some even dying while trying to escape. So liberals, enjoy your vote now as you celebrate, but perhaps you will remember these words I've written above some day in the very near future.
America: Born: July 4, 1776 Died: November 6, 2012
I don't know if it's a curse or a blessing to have the memories of how great we once were.
Thanks for sharing it, PeteePie.
Looks like she nailed it.
It is shocking the number of students I have than attribute this to ‘big banks and greed’. I always ask them: “Why would greedy bankers make loans to people that can’t pay them back?”.
The answer is of course Gramm-Leach-Biley which regulates the financial institutions. It gave Congress the power to say: “Look, you want to merge with that other bank? You had better meet the CRA guidelines.”
I call it the carrot and stick approach to crashing the real estate market. The stick is GLBA and CRA. The carrot is that Fannie and Freddy will buy your bad loans off you if you’ve been a good bank and made a bunch of them. This of course has the added benefit of leaving the taxpayer on the hook for all of it.
Powerful and tragic.
bump
Pepper spray has a tendency to do that ;-)
Jamie Gorelick and Barney Frank helped ORCHESTRATE the housing collapse. Gotta tank the economy to bring about radical change.
Was $26million dollars and a boy-sex-toy enough payoff for both of them to sell out this nation?
If my memory is correct he looks like a nerd but Senator Grassley was dead set against it.
All the financial wonks I was affilated w/ @ the time were all for it, and like a dumb arse I probably was as well. The two Clinton Era Bills and the repeal of Glass Stegal were big mistakes as was Sarb-Ox and now Dodd Frank.
That there woman is a keeper. Y’all treat her right, y’hear?
go cry if you want to metro, but I’m just starting to get REALLY P.O’d.
A holy rage is building within me.
I have begun discover that spot deep within my soul that place where prior warriors have been.
the place where fear is replace by a sense of greater justice.
I’ll die standing boy.
so man up!
This is good. Thank you.
Speaking of big banks and greed, have you tried explaining to them that the industry is run by a cartel, and that said cartel has monopoly power over the issuance of legal tender? How many people are even aware of this, I wonder. One of those open secrets.
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!. That's her when she ain't crying
Wait a minute! I thought you were the one who is crying....
Oh nevermind.
Propose, now!
It isn’t “all borrowed from China”. China has refused to continue to purchase our debt.
It is actually much worse.
We’ve simply been printing the money with no one actually buying the debt. In the news they say the “Fed is buying the debt” but the only money the Fed has is printed on the Fed’s printing presses.
When you reach this point. Economic failure isn’t far away.
Well that certainly is good news, not. I can’t get my mind around this disaster and how different like-minded conservatives are from the left. This is how your average, educated, productive Roman must have felt when hearing that Goths had reached the gates of Rome.
Woof! I double down on my previous statement.
My current and relatively new girlfriend didnt vote and doesn’t understand why I am upset. She thinks I am being a sore loser and made that “my guy” lost. I’ve tried in vain to explain to her that I am not mad that we lost, but that I am sad and heartbroken for our country. My ex-gf called me yesterday to offer condolences, she was very sweet and understanding about my feelings. Think I may need to switch candidates.
