Dear Republican Congress, Give Obama and His Boys Everything They Want
Townhall.com ^ | November 11, 2012 | Doug Giles

Posted on 11/11/2012 2:03:56 AM PST by Kaslin

A cigar aficionado and amigo of mine named Irwin penned a note to the Republican Congress the night after Obama got elected for four more years of this slop, and I thought I’d pass it on to you. Check it out ...

Dear Republican Congress,

As a conservative Republican I am begging you to give president Obama and those who voted for him everything they want.

They want higher taxes on the rich and companies. Give it to them.

They want higher capital gains taxes that will hurt their investments. Give it to them.

They want a system that will make Medicare insolvent by 2024 and Social Security insolvent soon after that. Give it to them.

They want policies that will lead to constant double-digit unemployment rates for minorities and young people. Give it to them.

They want an educational system that entraps the poor in failing schools. Give it to them.

They want higher energy prices. Give it to them.

They want to spend trillions of dollars fighting global warming while China and India continue to tap oil and coal. Give it to them.

They want 20 trillion dollars plus in debt. Give it to them.

They want the Obamacare penalties to kick in next year. Give it to them.

They want a larger, more powerful Washington DC. Give it to them.

They want a more secular society that is increasingly hostile toward religion. Give it to them.

They want a more “fair” society run by bureaucrats. Give it to them.

They want socialist cronyism. Give it to them.

They want to go down the road of Europe. Give it to them.

In addition to the aforementioned, I say that we legalize weed from sea to shining sea. Wait ... not just weed but acid. Think of how creative everyone could be and how it would distort the Obama voters’ reality from the truly sucky conditions his policies have created. That’s what you call a bona fide two-fer, folks. You’re welcome.

Oh, and we mustn’t forget cocaine and heroin legalization. And bath salts! How could I forget bath salts? Bath salts help spice things up during an unemployed weekend! Calgon’s calling. Nothing like dumping drugs into a culture of entitlement. I can’t imagine that going south.

Yes, I join with my friend Irwin and say that we give it to them and find out once and for all who is right. If we are right, they will have no one to blame but themselves, and maybe we will finally get true change in this country and in the Republican party so that we have a real choice in the years to come.

If we are wrong, then so be it. I will gladly repent of my evil conservative ways and become a socialist … I mean Democrat.

When I was about 12, I took a pack of my dad's cigarettes. My friends & I smoked about 1/2 a cig each before we got sick & threw them away.

After getting me to admit my behavior, dad mad me smoke a big cigar until my mom begged him to let me stop, saying, “He's turning green!”.

I've been smoking ever since.

Giving a child or a fool what they want, in mega-doses, does not change the fact that they are still a child or a fool. A male rabbit will kill himself repeatedly having sex if not pulled off the female, much like gays kill themselves (STDs) having promiscuous sex. A dog will eat himself to death given enough food, much like a fool will drink himself to death.

For our next republic, after this one has collapsed, at least 3 things must be different: Voting should be a privilege, not a right, predicated on land ownership & a competency test; Congress must be strictly limited as to what legislation they may pass; & all legislation must be approved by a super-majority of voters through referendum prior to it becoming law.

The way our system works now is like a monopoly game being played by criminally insane people with a slight rule change: Every time a player passes GO they get to enact any rule they wish, no matter how biased, corrupt, or bizarre. After just a few passes, the game is unplayable. This is the game we are playing now in the USA.

My solution is to take away the financial source of Liberalism - my money. If there is nothing to steal, the thief is out of work.

Conservative America needs to close up shop for a month or longer, & head to WDC to express their displeasure. Shut your businesses down, lay off the workers without pay, take an unpaid absence from work, or quit. Some business are already doing something similar - layoffs & shorter hours. Hey, the unions strike all the time. They know it works. They know protesting works, too, particularly massive protest. It WILL get their attention, I guarantee it!

They should vote present as the Kenyan so often did and let the disaster fall squarely on the Dems. The rich will leave the country along with jobs they create before they go broke. Those of us who understand what will happen are prepared. The ones to suffer most will be the idiots who voted for Obama.
When the crap settles we will pick up the pieces.

1. Refuse to support amnesty, the hispanics support dems by 4-1.

2. Support amnesty, and the resultant new hispanic voters (along with the current ones) will support dems by 4-1.

Immigration should`ve been seriously handled in the 1980s before the cancer metastasized to its present state. It`s inoperable now.

This isn't about amnesty, it is about our legal immigration policies that have changed the demographics of this country since the passage of the 1965 Immigration Act. Amnesty will just hasten the process, which has been long underway.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by an additional 130 million to 440 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.963% (2011 estimate,) principally due to immigration.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million. Of the 40 million immigrants in the country in 2010, 13.9 million arrived in 2000 or later making it the highest decade of immigration in American history, even though there was a net loss of jobs during the decade. Growth in the immigrant population has primarily been driven by high levels of legal immigration. Roughly three-fourths of immigrants in the country are here legally. With nearly 12 million immigrants, Mexico was by far the top immigrant-sending country, accounting for 29 percent of all immigrants and 29 percent of growth in the immigrant population from 2000 to 2010. The median age of immigrants in 2010 was 41.4 compared to 35.9 for natives.

87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the illegal aliens are minorities. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under in the U.S. will be classified as minorities and by 2042, half of the residents of this country will be minorities. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.

Immigrants and minorities vote predominantly Democrat. The Asians voted more Dem than Hispanics in 2012. What we are seeing now is the product of decades of immigration that have changed the nation demographically. It is like boiling a frog slowly. We are being boiled in multiculturalism and diversity.

We did address the immigration issue in the 1980s. The 1986 amnesty was supposed to solve our illegal alien problem once and for all. The proponents said it would be a one-time event never to happen again. The USG estimated 1 million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. Today we have 12 to 20 million illegal aliens and now the Dems and moderate Reps are calling for another one even though the first one didn't work because we never invoked the enforcement provisions of the 1986 amnesty.

Sometimes I am a bit too sensitive I suppose.

Please forgive my ignorance.

NP ... I perceive a growing sensativity and 'touchiness' in America.

My family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters is completely fractured because of an insensative remark (I made) in the heat of commenting about zero a few days before the election (all are conservative),

The apology email was responded to, and responded to, and responded to, and one wondered what was going on, and an explanation caused further consternation and ...

Suffice it to be (IMO) true ... America is a burning fuse.

They want every conservative Republican to go jump off a cliff.

You first, Doug.

I don’t know how this would work...but I think we need to gum up the works,,,,apply for everything even with no intention to get it...food stamps free this etc. fill out everything by hand not being careful to avoid mistakes...taxes extensions everyone!! just GUM it all up the gov. is slow and inefficient should slow things down even more

I’m not qualified for an EBT card, but I can go stand in line and let whoever you need to talk to explain to me that I’m not qualified. Would such an effort seriously gum up their system? Just because you apply for something doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

What if we all accept it and give it to our favorite charity? ;)

Absolutely not. If the Republicans act now, and refuse to participate in anything the Democrats want: no more continuing resolutions, no ending of sequestration, no more raising of the budget ceiling, etc., or any of the above, while they will be bitterly attacked for a month or two, the pressure on the Democrats will become intense.

In the short term, there *will* be a severe depression. But if the Republicans cooperate in any way, there is going to be a depression several times worse than the Great Depression.

They must act now, by refusing to cooperate, or they will destroy the country. If they continue to play along, the United States faces an unprecedented disaster.

Look at the state of America today compared to four years ago. The Republicans have been letting the Democrats do what they wanted for FOUR YEARS NOW.

STOP IT!

By enabling the Democrats, you destroy the country.

FIGHT THEM! FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!

Do want to make myself clear. Our economy is going to crash. It is a given. History is History, Math is Math. When our economy will crash is the question.

Smaller Districts elect Representatives. Those may be conservative. But entire states elect Senators and they elected Ds...even more than before.

We are shrugging. We are old, our assets are diminished,we will be gone by the time it falls apart or we will be taken down in the Fall.

Everyone under 60 who voted for this can live it. Fight them and all you will get is the blame and more hatred and maybe violence. You want to go out guns blazing and I can understand that. But it will simply delay the inevitable by less time than is needed to defeat it and will get you, yours and all non-progressives punished in the bargain.

Giles is a fighter. I understand his strategy.

What they miss is that so much wealth is held in forms that are not yet taxable. That is next: taxing total assets, along w/higher property taxes for some professions, such as physicians and extra state taxes for physicians, to start and then anyone else with assets over $1M, soon to be assets over $750k and so on. I understand the State of MN already adds 2% to physicians’ state income tax (this is anecdotal, so I am not certain) and I have read that they are investigating how to increase their property taxes, as well.

Under this scenario, there will be *enough* for *a while*.

That is a doable idea. That way they are not obstructing the “progress” but they are not supporting it either.

Unfortunately, we will all hurt, but sometimes it takes a bit of suffering to strengthen.

No, just the opposite. Don’t give them anything they want

Republicans control the House where all spending bills must originate. Radically cut appropriations for all of O’s favorites, like the EPA. Refuse to raise the debt limit.

We are going to go over the cliff in any case. The sooner the better. Face reality and then finally start digging out of the mess.

I just want to know when cowards like you are going to get the hell out of my country and never look back and better yet, never infect American ears with your defeatist cowardice.

?

Perhaps a little too much coffee this morning? Look, we're all on the same side - we're simply discussing ways in which we can win & take back the country. Right now, the Dems are trying to run out the clock. Or, as many have described it, the boiling frog tactic.

Kabar posts a wealth of demographic data. Another angle is this one: the peak post-WWII birth year was 1957, which means peak Boomers reached 55 this year. In 20 more years, they will be 75 and too tired, ill or apathetic to fight any longer. However, @ 55, enough may have seen the light in order to effectively counter what is occurring.

In many ways, the left may have, as is usually their case, over-reached before their goal was secure. Look how many people are considering the one sure-fire way to defeat their plans: let it collapse now instead of later.

The socialists are actually quite ingeniously evil. Conservatives have morals, principles & honor. They use these very traits against us in order to keep us hitched to the wagon pulling their load(s). When we are too tired, they simply dispose of us. After all, that's what O-care & the death panels are all about

But would happen if we ALL tossed the reins and then JUMPED into the wagon today? Consider the impact of 50-100m Americans not only going Galt in terms of tossing the reins, but then adding to the equation in terms of these same numbers overloading the welfare system.

Do people see how fast this would come to an end? F*ck politics - our energy should be building a grass roots explosion of awareness & organization on how to bring this sucker down right here & now.

And the way to do it is what I summarized above. Or, in other words, go Alinsky on their ass. Yeah, that's right, I read his book. They are wonderful at organizing through churches, etc. How come we're not doing that?

Once a statement was said to help one understand what is faced. I was there in the foxhole with my friend. There ten of them out there was said. Looked and said no, believe there are hundreds. Friend said, NO look again, there are thousands. Looked again and told friend, don’t look now but there are tens of thousands. My friend looked out the foxhole and said we both had miscounted, there is millions out there. Looked and sure enough there were millions if not billions. Then came the cry, Don’t Worry, it is us not them who have them surrounded. I said a prayer the General was not Custer.
