I'm composing a 'form letter' that I'm going to mail to all charities we've supported over the years. I'm going to inform them that either I'm done sending $$ to the charity, or I have to greatly reduce the amounts that I send. I'm telling the truth - this disgusting election has literally made us poorer on a number of levels.
There are a few veterans' charities that I intend to keep giving to, but the amounts will be drastically reduced.
It's going to go something like this...
"Due to the 2012 elections, both federal and here in Connecticut, we can no longer afford to support your charity in the manner we have in past years. We are facing job layoffs, a 30% increase in our health care premiums, gas prices have doubled since 2009, and grocery prices are through the roof, etc. The American people had a clear choice in the 2012 election to choose prosperity over the status quo. We feel the American people made a poor choice..." I like it! Mind if I steal it? ;-)

The article is crap. Their hero, Putin, wants to stay in power as much as any Democrat or Republican. You're right about Putin and the whole mob controlled Russian federation, but the points about why 0bama won are also spot on.

"Red Cross... I don't think I've ever donated even a dime to them either." Some time ago I read hundreds of millions poured into the Red Cross after Muslims flew planes into buildings in NYC. The article said the area directors as far away as the west coast who had incentive contracts for generating donations made millions in a matter of hours. The article quoted an amount at that time that was approaching a billion dollars and said details on where it all went were murky at best.
Anything we can afford to give goes to Salvation Army.

Damn right - we are a few downgrades, interest rate hikes, and debt crisis away from it.
The moochers and locusts of society hav en intention of being denied free stuff.

I am also changing things this year every item I donate to the church food pantry (for the truly needy) will contain a small card wishing the recipient a good meal and then stating that this meal was donated by a Catholic, Republican family, and containing a prayer of Thanksgiving. I want the receivers to know who puts food on their table, both from a spiritual and a corporeal point of view. Something like this:
Dear Ones,
Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. May this meal be a blessing to you and evidence of God's love.
Bless us, Oh Lord, and these, thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Donated with love by a Catholic Republican family.

I like it! Just make sure that card stays with your donated item - I suspect it could be "removed" by a "well-meaning" volunteer when you're not looking.
Sorry, I'm awfully cynical... ;-)

There have been other Red Cross scandals before that, too. I stay away from 'em.

Yes, that's one of our favorite charities. We donate items to a nearby Goodwill store as well.
I hope Goodwill is as "good" as the Salvation Army... I honestly don't know, do you?

I like it! Mind if I steal it? ;-) YES, by all means! Make sure you add the phrase "I'm just tapped out" for emphasis.
In my case, it's not a lie... I AM tapped out. Very little left for charity, and I'm not giving to any charity that I know supports Obama voters that are already on the dole.
