The previous elections, I would’ve said the reason the Democrats won (Clinton in ‘92 and ‘96, Obama in 2008) was because the voters were dumb. IN this election, they’re actually pretty smart. Why work when you have Obama taking care of you?

I think one of the big reasons he won is because his message of “taking care of folks” probably sounded more authentic. One area of voters not talked about is the tidal wave of boomers who are entering retirement. How many stories have we heard of this group not having enough in savings to be prepared? Couple those messages with candidates telling them that they will be either keeping benefits and/ or adding new ones versus one that says essentially we’ll be cutting - which one do you think got the votes? Not saying it is right but I think our messages need to be updated with the times.

Go back and look at the link. It is NOT a percentage of each race! It specifically said that 37% ON welfare are white, 36% black, and 20% are hispanic fd(6% other). How is that so difficult to understand? Blacks and hispanics are 56%....over one half vs a little over a third. Look at the tables!

The percentage on welfare by each race (of their total is like I said - 5% whites vs. a much higher percentage for blacks and hispanicsw.

Kronos77, I don’t think that is a set up. The Commander in Chief of our country is a Marxist who apparently does whatever he wants, however he wants, and we the people are completely in the dark. The USA right now, is no better than China, or Russia in terms of government propaganda. If Obama wants to squelch rising internal opposition, do you think for a minute that he is beyond engaging in war? I think those Conservatives mostly voted, but their votes were watered down bydemocrat voter fraud in precincts and wards that had upwards of 140% + voter turnout. Allen West id the only candidate protesting it, although it went on in all the swing states. The RNC is dead.

I saw an ad on TV yesterday for “Assurance Wireless” a.k.a. “Obama Phones”.

Every single person they showed was Black or Latino.

Between St. Lucie and Broward Counties, we have a pretty good idea what happened in Florida. Normal voting is what, 50% turnout? It doesn’t take many counties like this to affect an entire state by multiple percentage points.

All of these numbers between 99% (Pennsylvania) and 141.1% (Florida) turnout in dozens of counties in swing states makes me think Team Obama was panicking a lot just before the election, with Mitt up by 7% in certain early voting polls.
They overcompensated so much the fraud is impossible to hide. I think they know it, which may be one reason Axelrod is stepping down. (Sound familiar Petraeus and Benghazi?)

As I told someone earlier today, this is who Obama is. This is who Chicago (the machine) is.
Do we really want this to be who America is?
Is this how we will define our elections from 2008 on? As Mitt says, “America can do better.”
We must do better. We can’t let the message be out there that America will let this fraud go.

It has also been suggested that we ask Republican Secretaries of State NOT to certify the election until all questions about voter fraud are abated.
Some people think this may provoke a crisis, but it can’t be worse than the one we are looking at for the next four years and the impact on generations to come!
America NEEDS Mitt, and Mitt won fair and square. This was not a ballot stuffing competition but an election. Let’s make sure it’s counted that way!

The Catholic church is in the middle of things in this case, if not the cause. But it can act to be part of the solution.

To start with, the church must realize that if a hundred people call themselves Catholic, but only 50 of them are truly Catholic, the church cannot claim a hundred. The other 50 might someday seek redemption, but until they do, they are not an asset to the church, but dead weight.

There is no pride in numbers if half the number are forfeit.

For this reason, the church must divine some means to let those who are not Catholic, know that they are not Catholic, and that they should go their separate way from the church, that they neither call themselves Catholic, think of themselves as Catholics, nor burden the church and the faithful with their presence.

At the same time, the church must reclaim its sacraments as being part of its faith, not a function of government.

Imagine if the government decreed that Baptism was not Baptism unless it was done under government auspices? That children had to have a government issued certificate of Baptism, or the government would not recognize them as having been Baptized?

It sounds ludicrous, but for government to authorize marriage is just as ludicrous. So how does the church (and other religions) take back marriage? They do so by doing so.

The Catholic church could join with other orthodox churches and those churches willing to abide by mutual rules, to only accept marriages that are sacramental in character.

And these rules would be strict: that none of the churches in the agreement would recognize marriages performed outside of the agreement. The state would still recognize them, and the people involved might say they were married, but in the eyes of the churches involved, they would not be married, nor would they be said to be married, nor called husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs.

Likewise the churches would lay claim to divorce, that if allowed in that faith, it was a religious function and not a creature of the state, as it was a conclusion to a religious sacrament, not a civil law dispute.

Thus if the state wanted to say that a man and a goat could be married, that is for the state to say; but that does not make them so in the eyes of all of these churches. That this joining is not recognized nor respected, and the people involved are in no way righteous or respectable.

A really good analogy on how Obama got elected.

From a teacher in the Nashville area:
We are worried about “the cow” when it is all about the “Ice Cream.”
The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year.
The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees.
They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.
We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.
I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.
I had never seen Olivia’s mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place.
He ended by promising to do his very best.
Every one applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.
Her speech was concise. She said, “If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream.”
She sat down. The class went wild. “Yes! Yes! We want ice cream.”
She surely would say more. She did not have to.
A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn’t sure.
Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn’t know.
The class really didn’t care. All they were thinking about was ice cream.
Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.
Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, fifty two percent
of the people react like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other forty eight
percent know they’re going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.

Well Mexico feels some of our US territory was once theirs, so there is a level of resentment IMO.
Also the nearing nations with people here who can just step back over a local border to go home and who don’t have to go great distances to get here have no reason to assimilate as they used to when they came from Europe.
