Tulsa, Okla. —

A man licensed to carry a gun shoots two men attempting to rob him at a motel Friday evening.

Tulsa police tells KRMG it happened just before 7:30 p.m. at the Economy Inn at the 5600 block of West Skelly Drive in Sapulpa.

TPD were called out to the Oklahoma State University Medical Center after two men showed up shot. Police said they were dropped off by two people believed to have been involved in the attempted robbery.

The investigation shows the victim was invited into a motel room by a female, where multiple men were waiting to rob him. Tulsa police said at least one suspect drew a gun and demanded money. The victim pulled his own gun and shot two of the suspects.

No word on the condition of the two suspects. Police said the victim wasn't harmed.

Perhaps the victim was suspicious of his new "friend".

Had to laugh at the title, it could be taken two ways.
“OK” as in “Oklahoma” or as “okay !”. Either way fits. :)

Good for him, but I have to ask. So why exactly would he be going into a hotel room with a strange woman he just met?

Hope the guy wasn’t married or he may end up getting shot later. :)

Probably a 9mm. He need to upgrade to a .45 ACP.

Yup. Those .45s make a real mess. I’m going to upgrade from .40 to .45 cal too.

Sapulpa! Never a good town to be in at night! Years ago I hear that Sapulpa had more unsolved mob murders than any other town in Oklahoma. Even my employers in New Mexico knew of Sapulpa’s reputation!

I wonder if the car came to a complete stop, or were they rolled out the door like a drive-by.

Are there good towns in Oklahoma to be in? Night or day?

I recently started researching new places to live and the NE part of the state has several possibilities that look good on paper.

I live in NASCAR country now and all is well enough, but the election really opened my eyes to what's around me and has me rethinking what's important.

Yes. Any of them, all of them, every single city or town in Oklahoma are good places to be in so long as one isn’t out at some seedy motel getting lured into situations where it’s necessary to defend oneself with deadly force.

Hell Yea!

Any town in OK is fine at night. Just know where you are.

For instance, I would not hang out at night in North Tulsa or East Muskogee.

No doubt, they both needed a hotel room, and agreed to share the cost! Perhaps the woman was destitute, and the man was being charitable? I, personally, am not in the habit of sharing hotel rooms with complete strangers. So many possibilities.... With the vast knowledge available to freepers, perhaps someone will discover a simple and overwhelmingly likely reason.../S
