The Koch Brothers Turn On Chris Christie and Warn Him About Setting Up Obamacare
Politics USA ^ | November 11th, 2012

Posted on 11/11/2012 11:48:12 AM PST by drewh

The Koch Brothers think-tank, Americans for Prosperity, handed down a warning to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for not rejecting provisions in the ACA to submit health insurance exchange plans ahead of the health law’s full implementation.

Republicans were already furious with Christie for praising President Obama’s rapid response to the super-storm Sandy that ravaged parts of the East Coast last week, and now the Koch Brothers are pressuring him to reject a New Jersey exchange bill to rebuff the ACA’s requirement before a November 16 cutoff date for states to set up health insurance exchanges.

If states fail to set up the exchanges, the federal government does it for them and the provision gave individual states leeway to set up a healthcare marketplace according to their resident’s needs.

The press release cited “other conservative governors across the country like Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, Scott Walker, and others have already taken a principled stand,” and questioned whether Christie “will prevent New Jerseyans from having their health care choices controlled by federal bureaucrats? Or will he continue to go along to get along with Barack Obama?”

The Koch brothers have not always been antagonistic against Christie as long as he followed their edicts, and last year David Koch praised Christie for pushing legislation the Koch’s ordered Republicans to support. Koch praised Christie for eliminating public workers’ right to bargain collectively for health benefits, and for pulling New Jersey out of a Northeastern states regional cap-and-trade market to curb industrial greenhouse gas emissions.

Christie said in October he would wait for the outcome of the election to decide whether or not he would set up health insurance exchanges, but the Koch’s Americans for Prosperity memo warned him there are harsh consequences for any further apostasy.

Christie will be a Rat within the next two years (assuming he doesn’t drop dead from a heart attack before that).

You mean "obama's rapid response" to a photo-opp, don't you?

Anyone seen him (or even FEMA) near the hurricane damage since then?

Bush responded to Katrina much faster, even having to wait on Ray Nagin and the Lousisana governor to get their $hit together before they would allow FEMA in.

Christie? Well, I've never been too high on him, and now...well, he's a democrat obamass kisser and I'm glad I don't live in New Jersey.

Too bad we have this whole situation “Koch’s ordered Republicans to support. “ even though they do support conservative causes.

Many similar people only support leftist causes.

And while Chris Christie was lying about Obama and his non-support, a nuclear reactor in New Jersey was operating on diesel backup generators to prevent a full meltdown. Kinda odd that the MSM would ignore such a dangerous situation, while making people think Obama had made everything better.

Maybe you’re right and Christie is planning to switch parties. If he is, he’ll see this as presenting an opportunity for a Sister Souljah moment. I think Christie really is at heart a liberal and probably should switch parties. The whole thing with Obama was very strange to say the least.

MSM will ignore all facts to futher their own news narrative.

That's what drives them so crazy about FOX is that they dont have control over the thought process of 49% of the population

In this case I see it as an American cause.

Nothing about obamacare is American. People just want free things but do not want America to be free. Their selfish minds don’t go that far. Totally unlike our vets, our military who think America before their own self. Greed won!
And they talk about the 1% - well, that is amusing.

3... 2... 1... until Christie publicly states, “I did not leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me. That’s why today I announce...”

Why don’t the Koch brothers start buying up newspapers and TV stations? They’ll get better results if they created conservative media than spending 100 million on election ads.

Christie is not to be trusted. It’s that simple.
