Military expert Paula Broadwell, who was allegedly improperly involved with resigned CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus, confirmed in October that the CIA annex in Benghazi asked for reinforcements when the consulate came under attack on September 11
Broadwell was speaking at her alma mater, the University of Denver, on October 26. Her lecture, which is on YouTube under the title "Alumni Symposium 2012 Paula Broadwell," now has added value, because based on the recent disclosures, it can now be assumed that she indeed knew exactly what it was that Petraeus knew about the attack.
Broadwell confirmed the reports on Fox News that the CIA annex asked for a special unit, the Commander in Chief's In Extremis Force, to come and assist it. She said that the force could indeed have reinforced the consulate, and that Petraeus knew all of this, but was not allowed to talk to the press because of his position in the CIA.
"They were requesting the – it's called the C-in-C's In Extremis Force – a group of Delta Force operators, our very, most talented guys we have in the military. They could have come and reinforced the consulate and the CIA annex. Now, I don't know if a lot of you have heard this but the CIA annex had actually taken a couple of Libyan militia members prisoner, and they think that the attack on the consulate was an attempt to get these prisoners back.
"The challenging thing for Gen. Petraeus is that in his new position, he's not allowed to communicate with the press. So he's known all of this – they had correspondence with the CIA station chief in Libya, within 24 hours they kind of knew what was happening."

Every military command around the world knew of the incident and events the moment the button was pushed. In real time.
So did 0bama. It is someone’s job to tell the sitting President, whoever that is. Even the fraud.
Events are monitored in real time. Prociedures. Protocols. Everything.
People in military know this. People in military families know this. Retired. Cousins of military know this.
It’s not news. The ‘news’ talked of this early on.
I knew about the terrorists taken into custody early on. They were released to the Libyans and were subsequently ‘released.’
Petraeus divulged CLASSIFIED to her? I guess he was just falling into the 0bama regime pattern of loose lips.
Only the POTUS had the authority to act!
0bama was notified immediately and automatically when the Benghazi consulate triggered the "Imminent Danger Notification System" alert. He did nothing.

Denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. The inaction during the attack was something more than that.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.
ONE man had the authority to act that night.

More and more, I’m putting together my own picture of this woman.
She’s attractive; by all accounts a great mom/wife. She’s a West Point grad....means she’s no dummy. She’s a Lt. Col. in the Army Reserves (doesn’t mean a lot unto itself, really...she’s the right age for that rank).
She’s a wannabe. She clearly wants to be a “player” in military/intelligence circles. Her connection....no pun intended....to Petraeus was her ticket, and she exploited it to the hilt. She has, or had, ambitions beyond what her talents and connections could provide.....so ****ing the General gave her the entree she needed.
She also, clearly, could not keep her mouth shut. “Discretion” is not her long suit.
In sum, she was a bad risk, and the good General let a hot body and pretty face expose him in many, many unplanned (as well as planned) ways.
It certainly raises a question and gives more credence to the theory that Petraeus was black-mailed (by you know who) to keep quiet about what happened on the 11 September in Benghazi.
I don’t think he necessarily told her in the “pillow Talk” sense, but instead she learned of it just as Lewinsky learned of Clinton’s telephone call details while Bubba was talking to Arafat while Lewinsky was playing his Bill’s flute.

Let’s add this....when the New York Times put her up as a report...she had no prior experience. It’s an odd thing that you get embedded to some general’s staff to write...with no background at all. For the Times to have sponsored her....she had to be having some relationships within their management team as well.

Gallavanting all over the world with the object of one’s obsession and obsessing over him the rest of the time and probably leaving her husband to raise the kids,,,takes alot of one’s time and energy and does not get her nominated for parent of the year.

The news in this thread is the fact that a source we now can assume got its information directly from the head of the CIA confirms the FOX news story about Benghazi.
Everything else about this affair can be discussed in due time, but for now there are only two important questions:
1) When was Obama informed about the request for help and what did he do about it?
2) Did the WH pressure Petraeus to keep quiet (and lie in his testimony to the House the following day) using their knowledge of his adulterous affair?

She could have been guessing based on her knowledge of Petraeus and that he would not leave his guys.
As for the knowledge that there were prisoners, this was in the foreign media reports when this all went down. There is video on YouTube of the prisoners being taken from the consulate. If you want to know what is going on in the Middle East, watch Al Jazeera.

It was already known there had been prisoners before she made that talk. She also didn’t talk about the affair - it was HIS emails sent to her that let that out.
