REPORT: DOJ KNEW OF BROADWELL INVESTIGATION FOR MONTHS
breitbart ^ | 11/11/2012 | by LIBERTY CHICK

As new information emerges regarding Friday’s resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus, not only does the story begin to crystallize, but so does the timeline of the FBI investigation that sparked it. In light of the news that officials in the Department of Justice apparently knew about the investigation for months, it now appears that they may have prolonged the release of information to appropriate parties, including to the director of national intelligence.

Details surfaced late Friday that the woman with whom Petraeus engaged in an affair was in fact his biographer, Paula Broadwell. Ultimately, it was the harassing emails Broadwell sent to another woman connected to Petraeus, and whom sources say Broadwell perceived as some sort of rival, that prompted the FBI to initiate its investigation this spring. There has not been any evidence to suggest that the relationship between Petraeus and the other unidentified woman was romantic in nature.

Investigators initially thought the CIA Director’s personal Gmail account had been hacked and pursued the matter as a potential cybercrime. Instead, they discovered the affair through the course of examining emails between Broadwell and Petraeus, some of which were sexual in nature.

Liberals won’t care and say that it was not a political matter.

That means the President knew for months about the affair. Obama was blackmailing Petraeus. Blackmail is a crime. “High Crimes and Misdemeanors”.

How about refocusing to Benghazi and Fast and Furious. This is probably important; but definitely a distraction. How many of these are we going to have to go through to learn “Stay Focused”?

Kind of sad the DCI didn’t realize a honey trap for what it was.

DOJ knew about it for months, and kept it close the vest until it was politically expedient not to.

Okay, that sounds about right.

None of this makes sense.

First, can anyone recall that the FBI really cares about threats in emails? Seriously, those are usually in the same category as stock pumping emails, zombie’d computers, phish scams, etc — none of which usually is the target of FBI interest.

Second — anyone who has spent time in DC knows that affairs among the high and mighty aren’t that uncommon. Heck, Ike had an affair going while he was running the entire European theater in WW2. The sex itself is of little interest beyond gossip.

So there is probably more going on here, probably a lot more. And nothing I’ve read today has shed much light on the matter.

I suspect that also. They key thing is whether there is any discoverable evidence left since they have had months to get rid of it.

There should be an investigation of a the investigation.

“that prompted the FBI to initiate its investigation this spring.”

That’s the first I’ve seen anyone mention that the investigation began in the Spring.

“That means the President knew for months about the affair.”

I agree. It’s hard to picture Holder keeping such explosive information away from Obama since at any moment it could have been leaked and he’d have been left holding the bag. Better to let the chief know so he can control/decide how matters should proceed in terms of a) ramifications to Petraeus; b) whether/when to inform the public. Especially in light of all the flack he got over Fast and Furious, his CYA incentive would have been to pass this hot potato to POTUS ASAP.

Hussein needed the dirt on Petraeus cuz there were big-time rumors he’d emerge as Mitt’s VP nominee. If that had played out you can be SURE it would have been sprung on the electorate ONE WEEK before the election, right?

But Mitt didn’t make that choice, so they laid that card aside, and then lo and behold the Bengazi chit sandwich was served up nice and steamy:

They needed a fall guy, right? So in addition to the BS about the naaaasty YouTube video they were going to blame it on the CIA who is soooooo incompetant, right?

Why would they take on the freaking CIA of all entities? Reckless, huh? NOPE..! They had P4 all compromised in this honeytrap.

So OF COURSE Hussein knew for months..! What else do we not know?

I guess we KNOW Ryan is clean as a whistle cuz we heard nothing on him and you know Hussein sent out EVERY flying monkey in the kingdom, right?

For interesting reading check out the tactics Hussein used in Chicago when he first started out.

HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS.

I do hope and pray that you are correct. However, these days, sadly...I have become so skeptical of anything this bunch of “people” (being a Christian woman, I can’t say what I really would like to say right now) say or do. Plus, the “taker” majority of sheeple won’t care, either. Honesty, integrity, character, hard work, etc., have all flown out the window with this new cast of characters. The world has certainly turned upside down.

How about refocusing to Benghazi and Fast and Furious.

That is precisely the point. I'm not condoning Petraeus' behavior it was wrong, but worse, he has given the administration a huge gift. The DOJ sat on this for months because that is the way the White House wanted it. Now at a time deemed convenient they have a fall guy. And they get to make this all about sex and their media lapdogs will go along with it, pretending that they are covering Benghazi while ignoring the real story.

The focus on sex is intentional mis-direction. And the masses, with their tabloid appetites whetted will eat it up.

Equally concerning is the fact that the Department of Justice and Attorney General Eric Holder apparently saw no reason to make the director of national intelligence or any members of Congress aware of the investigation - even in part - until this week, despite having knowledge of it for months.

That stinkin' Holder again .... the guy is corrupt to the core - when he leaves, I'm sure Obama will fill the post with someone equally as bad although Holder might be hard to beat on that score.

I've seen it mentioned before, but in my opinion, Petraeus was being investigated by Obama's people [Soros and firneds] at least before they put out that stupid NY times ad against him.

Exactly. The Chicago thugs held this close and used this info as leverage
over Betrayus. What else could explain Betrayus either creating the video
lies story or spouting them or both.

I fear you are correct. We’ll see photos of ALL women concerned 1,000 timess. Presstitute believe that their customers are idiots who only understand BOOBS willl combine with the presstitute need to protect their Messiah and we won’t hear the core focus of Bengazi:

1. Deliberately abandoning US troops in combat attempting a rescue

2. Tens of THOUSANDS of MANPADS missiles, most of which are probably now in the hands of our worst enemies

3. Al Qaeda

They want to give the impression of covering the story while avoiding all the consequences of not really questioning the establishment.
