REPORT: DOJ KNEW OF BROADWELL INVESTIGATION FOR MONTHS
breitbart ^ | 11/11/2012 | by LIBERTY CHICK

As new information emerges regarding Friday’s resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus, not only does the story begin to crystallize, but so does the timeline of the FBI investigation that sparked it. In light of the news that officials in the Department of Justice apparently knew about the investigation for months, it now appears that they may have prolonged the release of information to appropriate parties, including to the director of national intelligence.

Details surfaced late Friday that the woman with whom Petraeus engaged in an affair was in fact his biographer, Paula Broadwell. Ultimately, it was the harassing emails Broadwell sent to another woman connected to Petraeus, and whom sources say Broadwell perceived as some sort of rival, that prompted the FBI to initiate its investigation this spring. There has not been any evidence to suggest that the relationship between Petraeus and the other unidentified woman was romantic in nature.

Investigators initially thought the CIA Director’s personal Gmail account had been hacked and pursued the matter as a potential cybercrime. Instead, they discovered the affair through the course of examining emails between Broadwell and Petraeus, some of which were sexual in nature.

It’s time to water-board Holder. That’s not torture, it may save his life since he is probably at the top of the list to be either “Ron Browned” or “Vince Fostered.” He knows all the dirt including where to find Soetoro’s birth certificate.

Apparently everybody except the general public knew about it. Undoubtedly some in the media also knew. The public was let in on the story when it was deemed in the administration's best interest.

Sometimes it seems as if there is "we the people" in one corner and "them the insiders" in the other corner.

This was clearly a Hussein/Chicago tactic. But it backfired so now I’m wondering if Petraeus (whom I have never liked, but who actually may have a shred of patriotism) forced the issue.

On another thread, it was pointed out that the real reason for the Benghazi attack, according to Petraeus’ sweetie, was because the CIA had a “secret prison” where they were holding two important Libyan AQ members. Some posters have said they were holding four.

In any case, it appears that even after killing the ambassador and parading his body around, AQ hadn’t managed to find and extract their people. But, if you recall the early accounts, the US forces had caught three or four high value targets...and were then ordered by Obama to turn them over to “Libyan security” and who have since disappeared.

So the only thing that would explain the Petraeus situation is that Obama was and is now desperately trying to cover up his actions and his loyalties, including by sabotaging Petraeus. The good general appears, like Clinton, to have had a long and dishonorable career in the sack, attractive only to careerist women who find power to be the ultimate aphrodisiac. Looking at Petraeus, there sure wasn’t anything else there, and since you were going to be only one of many girlfriends, I don’t think you could have believed you were the one and only striking his “soul.”

I think these two broads are going to be just the beginning of the revelations...but the important point is that I’m sure that the FBI, the CIA and practically your grandmother has known about all this for a long time, and it is being released now to keep Petraeus from testifying.

I think Petraeus, PC to the end, would have fallen on his sword for Obama, but I think Obama’s story is so flimsy that even hara kiri wouldn’t have helped.

Just imagine - had Petraeus not actually resigned, most might never have known about the situation at all.

Holder has known for MONTHS. Ditto the Marxist.

Thanks for the ping Nachum.

Can anyone tell me why the FBI would be investigating a 4 Star General who was waging war in a foreign Country?

Wouldn't the CIA been doing that if any investigation or monitoring was needed?

I'm not sure of the protocall here so I am just asking.

The reports I’d seen had referred to the investigation starting a “few months” ago or “several months” ago.....6 or 7 months is more than several or a few.

So, what we have at the very least, is the head of the DOJ, the head of the FBI and the president all knowing that the head of the CIA has been having an extra-marital affair and no one has done anything about it.
At the very least, it was no big deal to any of them, because they should have asked for his resignation months ago.

That’s incompetence or dereliction or worse.
It’s another cover-up in this administration.

The problem I have is that the head of the CIA was having an affair which could compromise national security. We have Top Secret Background checks for a reason.

why would I not be surprised if his personal gmail acct was “dpetraeus@gmail.com” and his password was his birthday or something.

you’d think the guys at the CIA would be a little more careful. No wonder we have no idea what’s going on anywhere

I’d be interested to know when these so-called “affairs” fell into the timeline with his battle with prostate cancer.

Nov. 11, 2012

The Florida woman who received harassing emails from Paula Broadwell, spurring an FBI probe that ultimately uncovered the Gen. David Petraeus’ extramarital affair with his biographer and led to his resignation as director of the CIA, has been identified as Jill Kelley, a local concerned citizen who volunteers to help the military.

“We and our family have been friends with Gen. Petraeus and his family for over five years. We respect his and his family’s privacy and want the same for us and our three children,” Kelley said in a statement.

A close friend of Petraeus said Kelley and her husband, who are both civilians but supporters of the military community, befriended the Petraeus’ when the general was stationed in Florida.

(CNN) — Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, has been treated for early stage prostate cancer and says recent screening tests have delivered “very positive” news.
Gen. David Petraeus was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February.

Gen. David Petraeus was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February.

He was diagnosed in February, his office said, and underwent two months of radiation treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

“My cancer was caught very early,” Petraeus, 56, said in remarks released by his office. “I’ve had two PSA tests since completing treatment five months ago, and they’ve both been very positive. Surgery to remove the prostate was not an option due to plates/screws that were used to repair my pelvis after it was fractured in a parachuting accident.”

On April 23, 2008, Secretary of Defense Gates announced that President Bush was nominating General Petraeus to command U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

Since Petraeus reportedly ended the affair when he was named head of the CIA, it seems to me that the DOJ may have known about it before Petraeus was named as head of the CIA.

If this was the case, don't you think this makes it smell all the more like a setup? Especially since Petraeus was originally chosen by Bush to lead the war in Afghanistan.

The Left thinks that Petraeus is immune from testifying about Libya now that he resigned.

This is part of “aiding and abetting enemies”.

Treason on 0’s part.
