53 percent of Americans would blame GOP for ‘failure to avert crippling fiscal cliff’

Washington, Nov. 14 (ANI): Americans are prepared to blame Congressional Republicans for failure to avert the fiscal cliff, according to a new poll.

According to the Washington Post-Pew Research Center Poll, 53 percent of Americans said the GOP would be at fault, compared with 29 percent who said the same of Barack Obama.

The poll found that nearly 10 percent said that both would be to blame.

While 51 percent of Americans don’t expect a deal, Democrats have substantially more faith than Republicans in the ability of President Barack Obama and Congressional Republicans to compromise.

Two-thirds of Republicans are not anticipating a deal, and only a quarter expect one.

However, a plurality of Democrats, 47 percent to 40 percent, expects Obama and the GOP to reach an agreement, Politico reports.

Congressional Republicans are likely to face the blame for any impact.

The fiscal cliff would amount to a giant removal of cash from the economy. On Jan. 1, 2013, the Bush-era tax cuts would expire, along with a payroll tax cut introduced by the 2009 stimulus bill.

While 68 percent of Americans think it will have a major impact on the American economy, a significantly smaller number, 44 percent, expect it to have a major impact on their own personal financial situation.

Nearly 62 percent expect the impact on the economy to be mostly negative, while 20 percent think the impact will be positive, it added.

so who the hell cares who’s to blame. does this mean that if we avoid it, we’ll get the credit? face it, the democratic republic that once was is over. the body politic is too stupid, hedonistic and ahteistic to govern themselves. most in america are governed by: gadgets, food, TV, and their penises and vaginas. a country won’t last long on that recipe.

Ok so what. Do what is right not what some poll tells you. Isn’t that how we ended up with Obamacare?

Roughly sixty percent of America believes in Bigfoot. At least ten percent of America believe in Elvis being alive. At least forty percent of America believes in the Loch Ness Sea Monster.

People tend to believe a bunch of things which lead to nothing much factual. There are some folks in the age of fifty range who still believe Phil Donahue has a show on TV today, and that Donny and Marie are husband and wife.

The propaganda department of the Democratic party, aka the MSM, has done their job...

According to the Washington Post-Pew Research Center Poll, 53 percent of Americans said the GOP would be at fault, compared with 29 percent who said the same of Barack Obama.

While disappointing and not surprising, these results are a testimony to the success of the vast left wing conspiracy to dumb down America.

The facts that the Democrats have had no budget for years, rely on borrowing, printing money, and complaining that people actually working are not paying their "fair" share (a moving target) have little bearing on the evolution to the fiscal cliff.

Belief in fiscal responsibility, belief in God, and the sanctity of life means that Republicans are out of touch with disordered progressive thought, and therefore, to blame.

I’d say let them have it.

At some point the party will come to an end.

The adult children who run America don’t care about the next generation. They want their fix now and there will be hell to pay to any one who stands in their way.

Fiscal cliff? What fiscal cliff?

If the Repubs go along with it, 60% of the people will blame them for resultant depression. So?

House Republicans need to pass their plan and demand that the Senate do the same, so they can go to conference. If Obama wants to intervene, say that he should talk to Harry Reid.

I would credit the Republicans for causing a crippling fiscl cliff.

Obama is going to gut the military, anyway. Saving it for today will not save it for tomorrow. Obama is going to take that money and “invest” it with his friends and cronies.

Better to just take that money away from him.

I’ll see your poll, and raise you 2 more... seriously, after 2+ years of presidential polling does anybody give a rip what a half-—ed poll says?

Who cares what a WaPo poll states anyway?
But lets dissect this farce.
Where are these people so polled?
I wager 95% in california, 90% in NY& the NE will blame the GOP for anything, not to mention the inner city dwellers & most of the Hispanics.
I am past caring about voters, legal or not, who hate us & despise our brand.
Support local US congressmen & Senators across our land and we can pull through without pandering to those whose only goal is a media driven agenda to transform us into something else

Part of me says just give him everything he wants. Then when the inevitable happens he has nobody to blame but himself.
One thing this election did is give ZERO cart blanch to finish his so called change.
Once his plan fails, and it will, then we can pick up the pieces and start over. I mean a complete start over, getting rid of all 535 members plus the 9 gods.
Before that we might need to study Chinese and Russian.
