In a development that shocked veteran talk show host Tom Gresham of the nationally-syndicated Gun Talk Radio program, the Wounded Warrior Project declined an interview request on Gun Talk Radio because it's a firearms-related show, the program reported yesterday on its Facebook page.
I'm stunned at your email saying that the WWP doesn't participate in an interview or activity related to firearms, Gresham emailed the charitys public relations director, Leslie A. Coleman. Inasmuch as there are 90 million gun owners and most of them support wounded veterans, I think they would be shocked to hear that they are, by way of their hobbies, somehow not worthy of helping with the Wounded Warriors Project.

I'm not done supporting vets, but I'm done with WWP - an organization helped a great deal in the past.
I'll give my money to other disabled vet NGOS.
Boy, I’m glad we had a 2-Day charity Sporting Clays shoot for them last weekend.
Strange, very strange. why would they do that?
I would not donate because of the Playboy thing.
“Wounded Warrior Project declined an interview request on Gun Talk Radio because it’s a firearms-related show, “
So....they won’t go on a show that is firearms related but will gladly accept money from people who actually own firearms.
Looks like a PR nightmare for WWP.
The excuse (firearm-related) is not acceptable.
Wow....looks like WWP just shot themselves in the foot.
The WWP may have to give their management a “come to the woodshed moment”.
Time will tell.
All groups must be eternally vigilant against creeping socialism.
Gun Talk - WWF Ping...
Unfortunately, you must be very careful in supporting many of these “Warrior or Veteran” charities that have popped up recently. Many are scams and rip offs run by progressives. Check them out on their web pages and charity rating organizations. Several that I thought of supporting I declined after reviewing their web pages and their spending support histories.
Politics, the re-election of Obama and the new talks about a new Assault Weapons Ban (AWB).............
It's advantageous to reap the benefits of a giving gun rights society when the whitehouse is in no position to malign them but now that Obama is back, they feel emboldened to attack the firearms owners once again........thus the change in attitude from the Wounded Warrior Project.....
ping
Stick that PC crap in your pipe and smoke it, WWP.
While I’m disapionted that WWP has taken this stance, I will still support them. When the VA was giving my son the run-around they stepped in and got things done. WWP takes care of Veterans and they do it well. Bash them all you want, it still won’t change the fact that they do what they say they are going to do. On a scale of 1-10 I give WWP a 10 as an organizatin.
SIWP
Self Inflicted Wound Project
Just a monumental, stupefying WWF response to an interview request.
Political Correctness.......With the re-election of Obama and new talks about anti-firearm legislation, they now think firearms owners are in the minority and thus they no longer have to appeal to them.......
I could say a few things but I won’t.
I am biased but it you want 97 cents of your dollar to go directly to where you want it, the wounded, ill, injured and dying of our Armed Forces check out the Silver Star Families of America.
www.silverstarfamilies.org
enough of it....
Can you think of any other reason for their action?
I support The Injured Marine Semper FI Fund. They are for real. They have extremely low overhead costs. The returning marines love them. I never bought into the celebrity, high overhead WW deal.
With Obama’s re election we have officially entered bizarro world.
AMVETS and VFW is all you need.
This has gone viral thru my gun club with 1600 members and a strong history of helping Wounded Warriors in the past. We are investigating alternatives now...
Considering the very high dollar advertising WWP has been using I was suspicious of WWP being nothing but a for-profit corporation hiding behind a good cause.
I feel like I’m still out on the ledge, like last Tuesday night at 11:57pm, when Fox news declared 0bummer the winner. I’m trying to come down; really I am.
because every time we set up a group the left always has to infiltrate it and then take it over

According to Charity Navigator, WWP allocates 55 percent of its revenue to program expenses and 44.8 percent to fundraising and administrative expenses.[3]
Oh boy
Thats not good
Not strange at all. What you are seeing is O'Sullivan's Law in action.
"Any institution not explicitly conservative will become liberal with the passage of time."
Expect to see much more of it in the near future.
Whoaa! Calm down there big fella.
Everything is going to be OK...
Well, maybe not..
I haven’t given since I learned how very little of what they get actually does go to the wounded warriors. It looks as though they mostly use what they get to promote and employ themselfs.
Even though I no longer donate, they still deluge me with 3-4 mailings and “gifts”/mo.
Very poor handling of donations to my way of thinking.
There are several local organizations who truly DO aid those troops and don’t spend so much on promoting themslves.
I haven’t heard Hannity or O’Reilly mention WWP in a very long time, O’Reilly even said he was looking into some problems at WWP about 10 months ago.
WTF? I just saw a cable TV program recently with WWP people pheasant hunting in South Dakota. The wounded warriors were actually firing their shotguns and killing pheasants.
Check out Wounded Wear

Founded by a still active duty Navy Seal Jason Redman who was severely wounded in Iraq.
My husband and I are personal friends of Jason’s (aka J) and were a part of the second anual fundraiser for this 501c3 charity.
They do great things, if you have any questions please feel free to freepmail me.
Even here in L.A, the Paralyzed Vets of America is recognized. My Dad gives to that org as he’s Airborne. The only time WWP got face time is when that liberal douchebag owner of the Mavs, Cuban fronted it.
It does make my mind rest easier. I discontinued all charitable giving the day after the election but I was having a hard time with the decision not to give to WWP. Not any more.

They’re just like the NRA in that respect.
The use swag to drive new donations.
Not that I’m against it, but it becomes what they’ve admitted to as “branding” and at some point it becomes counterproductive.
