On Saturday, I was privileged to participate in the Gathering of Eagles in our nation's capital. The gathering was arranged on short notice, mostly via the Internet, as a way for American military veterans to stand and defend our national memorials against any efforts at vandalism by anti-war (and anti-America) protesters from the group ANSWER (Act Now to Stop the War and End Racism). Members of that group had defaced the U.S. Capitol Building with spray-paint in January. The Gathering of Eagles was designed to assist the United States Park Police in defending the Vietnam Wall and other monuments against...

Norfolk-based sailor uses Web to channel opposition to war By LOUIS HANSEN, The Virginian-Pilot © November 5, 2006 NORFOLK - Jonathan Hutto graduated from Howard University with a degree in political science and a résumé of social activism. He worked for the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International after college. He whipped up grass-roots protests against police departments and college administrators. One day in 2003, broke and seeking direction, Hutto enlisted in the Navy. The Navy couldn't have known it then, but they know it now: They had signed up a sailor strongly opposed to the Iraq war. Seaman...

Ramsey Clark, a former US attorney general who is one of Saddam Hussein's lawyers, said that any death sentence against the former Iraqi president would increase violence in the strife-torn country. "It seems clear that a guilty verdict will set off catastrophic violence" and that a death sentence would be even worse, Clark told a Washington press conference. "It's hard to know how many Iraqis, dozens, hundreds, thousands, will die because of the sentence," he said.

George W. Bush’s speech to the nation on May 15, 2006 highlighting deployment of the National Guard to the Mexican border represents an aggressive policy of racist, anti-immigrant demonization and hysteria. It was a demagogic attempt to mobilize the conservative base and appeal to fear in the lead-up to the November Election, and impact the current Senate debate. Bush’s call for ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ includes predominantly punitive, exploitative measures that belie the democratic traditions of our country. His proposals to maintain 6,000 National Guard troops at the border and increase facilities to imprison immigrants constitute the domestic side of...

Radical organizations, including active communist and revolutionary socialist organizations, were the driving force organizing the immigration boycott rally at Union Square in New York City on Monday. WND attended the event and took over 350 photographs documenting the effort by the radical political left to deliver an anti-American, anti-imperialist message under the guise of an "immigration rights" rally. The "Immigrant Boycott Day" was intentionally scheduled for May 1, worldwide known as the communist and socialist "May Day" holiday celebrating the struggle of "exploited workers" internationally. This scheduling decision was downplayed by the mainstream media. Documenting how carefully the radical political...

As the illegal immigrants and their Leftist allies continue their campaign (invasion might be a more proper word) against North American culture they have now decided to further their agenda with an economic boycott in this country on May 1st. I'm sure the fact that May 1st is a big holiday celebrated by international communism has not escaped them. So they have chosen that day to attempt their boycott to show their true solidarity with the international political Left. Illegals and their supporters have rallied their comrades to show us their economic muscle. They are going to show us how...

From the Commies at World Can't wait: The Bush Regime Must be Stopped! On Thursday, OCTOBER 5TH 2006: All day and into the night, across the country, we must decidedly break the paralysis that still grips too much of American political life. Taking off work, taking off school, shutting down campuses and coming together in mass gatherings, we must let the country and the world know that: ---millions of us reject this illegitimate regime that is as criminal as it is dangerous to humanity & the existence of this planet. ---we refuse to grow accustomed to a political climate that...

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld should withhold federal funds from a California college given the failure of the college to ensure the safe presence of military recruiters on campus, the Secretary was advised by a public interest law firm in a letter released today. According to news reports, military recruiters were forced to flee yesterday from a University of California Santa Cruz job fair because of a raucous mob. Mountain States Legal Foundation advised Rumsfeld that the college’s actions violate the Solomon Amendment, which requires that colleges permit military recruiters on campus or lose all federal funds. UC Santa Cruz...

They invoke the names of Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar Chavez, but the hundreds of thousands of immigrants who have marched nationwide are not following one charismatic leader. Instead, they're loosely guided by Hispanic advocacy groups, churches and labor unions - organizations that have helped transform isolated campaigns in major cities into a broad movement with a coordinated strategy. "There is no one leader, and that's a good thing," said Nativo Lopez, president of the Mexican-American Political Association, a central organizer of rallies in Southern California. "It's a shared leadership among people who we don't even always know." What...

On Boston Common, Punam Rogers will join other Indian émigrés, as well as business clients and students from China, Germany, and Britain. In Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Ivalier Duvra will take to the streets to draw attention to Haitian newcomers who he says need refugee status. MONDAY, A DAY OF DISRUPTION Political Agitators Planning For Monday Disturbances, Including Area City School Walkouts, Leading Up To Rally Downtown San Antonio School kids have become political pawns in the rarely mentioned, but always present, socialist/communist agenda; and they apparently are so under or miss-educated that they have fallen for the "Che Guevara Look," simply because he has a cool picture with a snazzy beret. Most do not even know Che's Argentine origin, thinking, instead, that he was Mexican. Meanwhile, the communist/socialist spawn are reving up their Marxist engines to use our kids, public schools and the immigration debate,...

Whether they call themselves anarchists, communists, socialists or marxists, whether their cause is anti-war, “the environment,” gay rights or animal rights or they just want to “Impeach the Smirking Chimp,” they’re all the same to me. They are united in a common goal of undermining capitalism in general and the United States in particular. The are all communists to me. Over the course of the last century we have been able to trace the path of the anti-American movement that traditionally has been associated with communism. Particularly in the last 20 years or so we have seen this movement take...

A mob scene unfolded at Oceanside High School on Mission Avenue Wednesday morning when about 200 students tried to leave campus, only to be blocked by police officers toting pepper-spray pellet guns and wearing riot gear. The scene at the campus subsided as school let out this afternoon and protesting students headed for the Oceanside Bandshell at the beach. Three boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly throwing chunks of concrete at officers during the incident at the school. Most of the marches in America were spearheaded by United for Peace and Justice, the nation’s largest anti-war coalition. The organization’s recent press release tells us of a massive effort planned for the week of March 15...

Take a close look and there is something downright suspicious about former Attorney General Ramsey Clark, now the darling of certain sectors of the radical left. His journey has taken him from the heights of federal power to outer orbits of the political fringe. In the process, he has seemingly transformed from a shill for the most corrupt elements of the US elites to a shill for any foreign despot who claims to oppose the US elites. Who is Ramsey Clark really working for? Dynasty of Mediocrity Ramsey Clark was born to power. In 1945, the Clark family made its...

The future of military recruiting at Harvard Law School hangs in the balance as the Supreme Court prepares to hear oral arguments in the high-profile Solomon Amendment case Tuesday morning. In case you’ve tuned out three years of protests and press conferences on campus, here’s the issue in a nutshell: the Solomon Amendment, first passed by Congress in 1994, blocks federal funding for universities that limit military recruitment. It poses a dilemma for Harvard Law School, which requires all on-campus recruiters to sign a pledge saying they won’t discriminate against gays and lesbians. The military, which bars gays and lesbians...

Thousands of protesters staged rallies on Wednesday across the United States against the policies of President George W. Bush, including the war in Iraq and response to Hurricane Katrina. The World Can't Wait organization, a coalition of groups formed recently to stage the rallies, used the anniversary of Bush's re-election to call for his resignation in protests that took place in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and Chicago. In New York, students walked out of schools and colleges and joined other supporters as thousands rallied in Union Square before marching nearly 2 miles to Times Square...

"No free speech for fascists!" screamed two burly ruffians as they charged the stage where David Horowitz was attempting to speak. "I probably would have suffered some bodily harm," Horowitz later wrote on his blog. Luckily, he writes, about half a dozen supporters "sprang to my rescue and beat the living crap out of the two deserving reds, dragging them unceremoniously from the theater." (1)Mr. Horowitz was fortunate. But he remains a target. We now know that the October 21 attack at the Liberty Film Festival in Los Angeles was no random event. One of the country’s most famous anti-war activists is now one of Berkeley’s newest residents. Cindy Sheehan, who gained the world’s attention with her protest outside President George W. Book Review of: Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left, By David Horowitz, Regnery Publishing, Inc. 2004. 296 pp. The nature of political doublespeak never changes and its agenda is always the same: Obliteration of historical memory in the service of power…. Only a restored memory can demolish totalitarian myths and make men free. But this book carefully dissects the secret of their partnership: their shared hatred of...

Does this sound familiar? EXCERPTS FROM THE NAKED COMMUNIST Former FBI agent, Cleon Skoussen, in 1958, in his book, THE NAKED COMMUNIST, revealed among other things, these long term goals of the communist agenda. The information is in the Congressional Record August 1963 and in the Communist Manifesto: U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of moral strength. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. Provide American aid...

In its e-mail endorsing the antiwar rally held in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, Moveon.org took the unusual step of notifying its 3.5 million members that though it wanted people to attend the event, it had “disagreements on a range of issues” with the organizers. What the e-mail left curiously unanswered was what exactly constitutes the “range of issues” with which they disagree. Could it be spearheading the cause of Nazi war criminals? Or playing defense for the likes of other war criminals, including Slobodan Milosevic and Saddam Hussein? Or serving as defense attorney for one of bin Laden’s top...

Thanks to CSPAN’s live coverage, America got to see the anti-war crowd in all its glory. Peace signs, “Bush is a Liar and War Criminal” t-shirts and Palestinian scarves were haute couture at the rally. There was even an American Flag but not in the usual sense. Someone had replaced the...

Dana Milbank and Alan Cooperman do a pretty good job of making John J. Tierney look like an alarmist nut based on their report of his presentation at the Heritage Foundation yesterday. His upcoming book apparently researches the funding and momentum behind the burgeoning anti-war protest industry and finds a lot of evidence that it primarily consists of unreconstructed communists. The Washington Post report of the event has Tierney painting a pretty broad brush on this score, however, and starts out by using what it believes to be a killer emotional rebuttal: Cindy Sheehan: anti-American communist? That was the accusation...

WASHINGTON - Organizers are planning what they say will be the largest anti-war demonstration in the nation's capital since the Iraq war began in March 2003. The ANSWER Coalition and United for Peace and Justice detailed their plans Thursday for the Sept. 24 protest. They plan to bus in people from across the country for a march past the White House. The Hidden Agenda Behind the "Peace" Rallies..... As evidenced by the throngs of people attending the recent anti-war rallies in cities across America and around the world, the contemporary "peace" movement is one of the truly significant social phenomena of our time. It has organized a number of massive, synchronized demonstrations -- attended by millions -- in hundreds of cities all over the globe. On 15 February alone, simultaneous protests against US military action in Iraq were held in more than 600 cities. Though virtually unreported by the mainstream press, the organizers of every major rally to date have deep,...

The past four years since 9-11 has seen several important and contentious elections. In the West, where the peaceful transfer of power can often be taken for granted, voters returned to power statesmen like Bush, Blair and Howard, who's War Against Terror is being waged also in support of global political liberty. Elsewhere, entire nations selected their own leaders for the first time. In Iraq, where political liberty remains under threat, many died exercising their right to vote while eight million succeeded in spite of the danger posed by terrorists and the disapproval of Western elites. But in the United...

Oh, dear. Oh, dear. Civil liberties activists, anti-war organizers, eco-militants and animal rights operatives are in a fright over news that the nefarious FBI is watching them. Why on earth would the government be worried about harmless liberal grannies, innocent vegetarians, unassuming rainforest lovers and other "peaceful groups" simply exercising their First Amendment rights? Let me remind you of some very good reasons. In March 2003, I reported on a manifesto disseminated across the Internet by infamous eco-radical Craig Rosebraugh -- former spokesman for the violent Earth Liberation Front -- who called on fellow leftists to take "direct actions" against...
