Patton: Petraeus’ Testimony Will Make Little Difference
http://www.gopusa.com ^ | November 15, 2015 | Doug Patton

Posted on 11/15/2012 8:34:41 AM PST by NKP_Vet

The fall of retired Army General David Petraeus is a story as old as the Garden of Eden. Sin has consequences. It does not undo a lifetime of service, nor does it negate every good deed ever performed, but it leaves a mark, a scar, like nails driven into a fine table top. The nails can be removed, just as transgressions can be forgiven, but the scars will remain.

As anachronistic as it may sound in this day and age, David Petraeus has betrayed his own wife, debased another man’s wife, dishonored his profession and generally defamed the four stars he wore so proudly. And all that fruit salad on the uniform now hanging in his closet cannot erase the shame he has brought upon himself, his family and his nation.

The explanations for the Petraeus scandal run the gamut, from “it’s just sex” to “the White House has blackmailed him.” As usual, the truth probably lies somewhere in between. It is doubtful that a man willing to jeopardize his marriage, his family and his distinguished career for sexual pleasure in the arms of another woman would be so honorable as to resign from his post in disgrace if he were not forced to do so.

That said, many questions remain unanswered, the most important being this: Will a Congress that has allowed itself to be made largely irrelevant during Barack Obama’s first term have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to him and demand accountability now that he has been returned to office for another four years?

He'll say what the Kenyan wants him to say and nothing more. Patraeus' reputation is forever tarnished. There is no presidential run for him in his future, that is unless he decides to run as a democrat, the party of thieves, liars, and murderers. He would stand a good chance of getting the nomination.

No mention about what Patraeus did to the ugly slimey Broadwell’s husband and little children? He was thinking only about his own happy genitals and that is more important than his own family and her family? He is a selfish son of a b8tch.

The General has made enemies within the CIA and if he lies under oath... and someone leaks the truth and they will... he will be destroyed.

You see, yldstrk, the hypocrite left only cares about ‘the children’ and ‘women's dignity’ when it serves their agenda.

You make a good point, btw.

Beware of celebrity Military Men like Petraeus-—they become just like all other celebrities, including the entirely mindboggling obliviousness they have to thinking that no one could possibly be looking, or interested in, their “personal lives” and how behavior in that realm could affect
performance of their very serious duties.

You don’t think he’ll continue to toe the line for Obama?

Anyone over the rank of Brigadeer General is a politician. We shouldn’t be surprised when they act like one.

Don’t make Benghazi about Obama. Make it about THE DEMOCRAT PARTY. Then, they’ll throw Obama out on their own.

Obama is a Democrat. He’s a dyed in the wool Democrat. He’s been implementing Democrat policies. The debacle at Benghazi was the result of poor decisions, but even more so, it was the result of Democrat policies. Show that, and the Democrats will throw Obama out.

Don’t make Benghazi personal. That’s what Obama wants. That’s what his challenge to McCain was yesterday. “Make this about me. I’m a grifter and I can con enough people to get away with it.” Make it about his decisions AND THE FAILED DEMOCRAT POLICIES. When he becomes a liability to the Democrat party, they’ll throw him overboard faster than you can say grifter.

"You don’t think he’ll continue to toe the line for Obama?"

His pension of $200K plus and his wife's show up job in the Obama Administration are at risk.

He will sing for his supper.

WATCH FOR FOLLOWING:

When Biden falls ill, has to step down -For the good of the Country- and ‘they’ name some calm, but nondescript, LIB that stays ‘quiet’ and in the background, as VP, Holder gets caught up in something and is ‘forced out’, the NEW AG brings some minor charge against BO, Boehner (on cue) jumps on it and starts impeachment hearings.
After a spell the Narcissist in charge (BO) will offer to resign so as not to put the country through this ‘misery’ and retire to his digs in Hawaii, set up for life by Soros and co. (till he is of absolutely no use to ‘them’)

The BNG will come in, pardon BO, Holder and all other Senior indictees, and the MASTER PLAN will be in place.

‘Remember the frog in cold to boiling water effect’....while WE are praising the demise of BO, Biden, Holder etal, THEY will really be putting the clamps on the rest of us.....

The explanations for the Petraeus scandal run the gamut, from “it’s just sex” to “the White House has blackmailed him.”

First Jack Ryan in Illinois. Second Mark Sanford who refused Stimulus funds for South Carolina.

And now, Petraeus.

Just imagine the media reaction to this:
The US embassy in Libya is raided, set on fire and bombed. Four Americans are killed including the Ambassador.

Numerous stories set forth ex navy seals request for assistance against the terrorists are summarily ignored. They, and the ambassador, are left to their fate. The story that comes out is inconsistent and 'evolving' at best, and it appears they were left there to die.
.....And the President is George W Bush.

Can you imagine the gnashing of teeth, the pulling of hair, the feeding frenzy as the MSM now smell blood in the water?

Yikes, if the last four years were not "a liability to the Democrat party', then I am deeply apprehensive as to what constitutes a liability. Going Galt may not be enough.

This sort of thing never would have happened 1 or 2 generations ago. It illustrates just how the much the integrity and moral fiber of our so-called leadership class has deteriorated over time.
