NEW YORK (AP) -- President Barack Obama got his first look Thursday at the devastation that Superstorm Sandy waged on New York City, with a helicopter tour above flood-ravaged and burned-out sections of Queens and Staten Island.

Two and a half weeks after the massive East Coast storm displaced New Yorkers, thousands of whom remain without power, Obama took an aerial tour that included Breezy Point, a waterfront community in Queens where roughly 100 homes were burned in a massive fire.

Even though I should be favoring NYC based Shake Shack, I have to go with Denver based Smashburger. They just opened a Shake Shack a mile from me, and Smashburger is four miles away, but I put the extra six miles on the car to go there. Excellent burgers and the chicken’s pretty good as well. And the fries make Shake Shack’s seem like Ore Ida.

Cuomo and Bloomie did an outstanding job of covering up the failures of govt at all levels. Seeing govt fail its citizens in the capital of Big Govt would not play before an election. So Bloomie went after ConEd while his admi failed to prepare the city in any way for such a storm, and Cuomo is doing a daily dog and pony show trying to hide the fact that LIPA IS AN ARM OF NEW YORK STATE. Surprisingly the only arm of govt to be proven competent was the MTA. it had 80% of the subways up and running 72 hours after the storm when experts believed it could take a month. All in all govt planning was a failure and while the emergency services performed well and bravely, they were unable to cope with the task the city and state’s planning failures had created. All these morons had to have done was watch The Discovery Channel in 05 when it predicted this mess and suggested seawall construction and greater dune construction on the barrier islands and beaches. But govt had other needs like salt, sugar, and trans fats, and condoms. But Bloomie and Cuomo have hidden their failures and attacked the easily visible utilities so barky is proud of them.

They recently opened up a Smashburger near me. It's on my list, but I haven't stopped by yet. Sounds yummy!
