Benghazi hearing turns ugly: Republicans accuse Obama of lying, Dems fire back

A House Foreign Affairs hearing on "Benghazi and Beyond" quickly turned into a shouting and accusations forum.

Naturally, Democrats responded. It began rather timidly and escalated.
"Barack Obama was no more responsible for what happened in Benghazi than George Bush was for Sept. 11th or Ronald Reagan was for the blowing up of U.S. Marines in Beirut," Rep. Eliot Engle (D-NY) said.
Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) unloaded, first sarcastically: "Let's just hang the guilty parties."
"The stench of hypocrisy that hangs over this city today emanates from this room," Ackerman said. "I've listened to my colleagues talk about the President of the United States and others in the administration using [the] terms 'deliberate', 'lies', 'unmitigated gall', 'malfeasance,' which is malicious and knowing evil-doing, 'disgust', 'coverups'."

Notice how the Dems shifted the blame and said if you would have just given us more money we could have fixed the problem. They think more money is the solution to every problem. No wonder we’re in the current shape we’re in...

Is there nobody in the Republican party willing to point out Obama’s part in putting militant Islamists in charge of multiple, previously neutralized countries in the region?
I would think the emboldenment of Hamas, now directly attacking Israel and so closely after Obama’s reelection, would bring an urgency to such a line of inquiry.

Once again the Dems bait the hook and the Repubs bite. The actual attack is only part of the issue. The bigger issue is the coverup and the purpose behind it. I am tired the Republicans being unprepared to deal with the Democrats games.

Greta was good last night. Being an attorney, her questions are pithy.
What grabbed me was when she said something like, “Basically, this is a murder investigation.” It is, and even though the murder of four Americans is the top issue (to everyone but democrats), putting it in those words is stunning.
It’s being treated like a political issue, with Congressional hearings, dem talking points, etc. But it is, simply, a murder investigation. Why did the president watch four people be murdered, and why didn’t he have them saved when they begged to be saved?

Never did like watching or listening to nbc. Too much bias in their reporting. First read ... a prayer you are correct, am reading. Back and Read. Picked up at Hearing yesterday a few minutes before Connolly. A prayer for open, completely open Hearings on both sides of Congress. Today is a milestone or a millstone, maybe, and each day (with that word zer0 used) is a millstone is possible. May the milestone come and the course be the true course God and Generals desire for our Nation. If the course, be not true, will never arrive at the truth.
Ummm, we really do believe dems are a pack of liars... and that sitting around for almost 7 hours while people are calling for help is stuff monsters do... So not only are they liars and monsters, they also cheated the vote.
We need to stand back and not help the little sh*ts...

They’d love to divert us to the sex scandal. I find it amusing that they don’t have this weapon due to their successful campaign during Clinton/Lewinsky to convince us that these are private matters between adults, just sex.
