Another Leftist Admits the Real Goal Is Taxing the Middle Class (The Truth is coming out)
Townhall.com ^ | November 16, 2012 | Daniel J. Mitchell

Obama has staked out a very dogmatic and inflexible position on class-warfare tax hikes and he obviously wants all of us to think only the “rich” will be impacted.

I think it’s foolish to penalize investors, entrepreneurs, small business owners and other upper-income taxpayers. What nation, after all, has ever prospered by placing obstacles in front of those who create jobs? France? Don’t make me laugh.

But I’m also amazed that anyone believes Obama isn’t going to screw the middle class as well. The simple reality is that there aren’t enough rich people to finance big government.

There are some honest folks on the left who admit that they want ordinary people on the chopping block.

Now we can add another honest statist to the list. I debated some guy from a left-wing think tank and he wants Obama to push all of us off the fiscal cliff.Dan Mitchell Talking about the Fiscal Cliff and Tax HIkes on CNBC

I think this was a civilized debate, by the way. We both got equal time, and we both had a chance to make our points.

I’m hoping that viewers heard – and understood – these two points.

  1. We don’t need higher taxes since we can balance the budget merely by restraining government spending so that it grows by an average of 2.5 percent per year.
  2. The only budget deal that succeeded (as the New York Times accidentally admitted) was the one in 1997 that cut taxes rather than increasing them.

P.S. If I had to guess, I would say that Obama’s ultimate goal for hurting the middle class is a value-added tax. Notwithstanding the fiscal crisis in Europe, he actually said the VAT is “something that has worked for other countries.”

they could confiscate the income of “the rich”, and it wouldn’t fund their agenda. the big lie is that the tax increases are intended to pay down the deficit, when in reality, they don’t give a damn about the debt. the obamites still want to do “big things”, and they can’t do them without hitting the middle class.

FYI- Raising taxes always punishes the middle and lower class. Upper class either lays off workers or increases prices to cover the extra taxes or moves to Hong Kong!

I've been screaming this for years...taxing the "rich" never really happens...sure, the small business owners will get hit, big...

but those smug Buffoons and hollowood crowd?...NOT!.....

it'll ultimately fall on the work of the middle class..

this the goal....crash the middle class...make only two classes...the ultra rich oligarchy and the working or not working poor...

The Conservatve tax groups should have ads out by now. Something to the effect of:

On January 1, 2013, the Bush tax cuts for the rich will expire. That is what the Democrats and media have been telling you since 2008. The tax cuts were for the rich. On January 1, 2013 what you, the American people are going to learn is the tax cuts were for everyone. It was the media and the Democrats who lied to you. You listened to the Demcrats and trusted the media. What else have they lied to you about???

His favorite topic is the middle class. Remember, he talks about “protecting” the middle class. It’s always the opposite with him. He telegraphs his goals by saying the opposite. Communists (community organizers) know that the middle class is in the way of their ‘fundamental transformation’ programs.

Beware and watch for the signs as stated above and in the leftist MSM...more proof that Obama is a communist.

No surprises here. “Taxing the rich” has been a real crowd pleaser in the us since Woodrow Wilson used it in 1913 and it’s still working for the Dems. Expect them to continue using it until the people no longer fall for it.

I’m going to say something provocative here. The beginning, middle, and end of left-wing economic policy in the US can be summed up in four words:

The plight of blacks.

That’s it. No other thought, from an economic standpoint, has entered their minds for the past forty years. Their only thought is transferring wealth from the 87 percent to the 13 percent.

“Penal taxes...are liquidating the Middle Class, the class who were prepared to save and spend and make sacrifices in order to have their children privately educated. The removal of this class, besides linking up with the abolition of education, is, fortunately, an inevitable effect of the spirit that says “I’m as good as you.””

The above was written by C.S. Lewis in 1962, as part of a satirical essay (Screwtape Proposes a Toast) on devilish plans for the destruction of democracy as part of the overall corruption of humanity.

The goal is to have some elitists and the remainder are serfs. However, the serfs will ultimately eat the elitists.

I’m afraid you have the right answer, right there. It’s the same conclusion that, having watched Argentina’s downward spiral for six or seven years, our correspondent Ferfal (Fernando Ferfal Aguirre) reached years ago on his blog.

Notice the close parallels between the policies of the Argentine dictator-family, the Kirchners (Nestor and Cristina), and the politics and policies of Barack Obama.

Only the middle class pay taxes.

We draw a salary every week.

The rich don’t. The poor don’t.

Since the rich already pay most of the income taxes collected from individuals, and indirectly pay almost all the rest via taxes on non-human taxpaying entities, clearly the thing to do is to INCREASE SPENDING! YEAH! More people working for the government means MORE INCOME and MORE TAXES! And repeal the 22nd Amendment! Vote Obama!

Thanks Kaslin.
