Video: Sophisticated Hamas Underground Missile Launchers

The sophisticated underground rocket launcher system in Gaza has been exposed by the terrorist organization in a video it released Saturday.

The video indicates the amount of effort and money that Hamas invested in its anti-Israel military infrastructure that is partly financed by foreign aid and transfers by Israel of taxes collected on behalf of the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority, which funnels part of the funds to Hamas.

The Israeli Air Force has knocked out a number of the underground sites, but it is not known how many remain.

Hamas has copied the Hizbullah tactic used in the 2006 Second Lebanon War, when Israeli intelligence was surprised by the use of underground bunkers and tunnels against the army.

If the House and Senate really are serious about reducing spending, foreign aid is a huge target.

Obama's first act in office was to expand this aid to Gaza and the the 'West Bank'. I seriously doubt that the House can stop it and that the Senate DemocRATs would go against their leader. Bleh.

Those shot down are larger and longer range and more sophisticated than the home made rockets shown in the video.

Those shot down come from Iran

The use of radar is the principle device that makes counterbattery fire possible. Unfortunately, the Pally’s use of launching sites that are next to schools and baby milk factories causes the Israelis to hesitate before firing back.

Israel should make it known public policy that they intend to eradicate any launch site in Gaza regardless of collateral damage. Israel should inform the citizens of Gaza that if terrorists are near you, there is a very high probability that you to will soon die.

This is what will happen: An airburst is around 200-250 yards against all targets not in trenches with overhead cover or in sturdy buildings.

A ground burst around half that (but is obviously more effective against targets dug in close to the point of impact).

By 'effective' I mean almost very team in the danger zone is going to get pinned with a risk of casualties or be destroyed unless they are in decent cover.

These 500 lb iron bombs can be fitted with precision guidance systems from Raytheon "Paveway" and it will go where you want it. Hamas understands that civilians are an integral part of the equation of war and conflict. Israel needs to learn this also.
