I guess I’m confused, yet again. Wasn’t it Newt who went on about having the inner city kids doing ‘chores’ to learn the merit of work and earning something? What the he** am I missing here? He’s against giving away free stuff, but is upset that someone called out the giving away of free stuff?
What did I miss?!

“If we can’t offer a better future that is believable to more people, we’re not going to win”.

Like it or not, that statement is a fact..... and proven by the results of the election.

We now have the most ignorant electorate in the history of American elections. I believe we have the most corrupt government and media our country has ever seen.

“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.” ~ Ronald Reagan, from his first inaugural speech as governor of California, January 5, 1967

Ronald Reagan’s warning about losing our freedoms echoes down through a generation of lost momentum and squandered opportunity.

In less than 2 weeks Obama has carved up even more of our Freedoms and he will not stop. Obama has been given over 4 more years to continue his destruction.

We can all look for fault/blame until the sun burns out, but pure and simple........... we let Obama win.

Hussein is stringing them along like a Middle East ambassador and security team.

His hangers-on think they’re in a different position.

No.

This is why the party is in free fall. The people out front who are telling the political truth become the target of one’s anger. Newt is right. Stop blaming Newt because Romney could not sell the conservative message. Romney had no business saying that 47% of the country is a write off. A party should...always..try to reach groups for them to think about what conservatism offers. Like Reagan did. Romney lost not due to Christe or Newt or Palin. Romney is a liberal and many of you hoisted him up as a true conservative, now you complain and target others. Not to worry, we will end up with another person who will lie to us in 2016. If Romney had not acted wimpy, making excuses (gifts comments), it would never brought out the pay you back voter. Anger does work with the voter. See the mirror. I am not helping Romney dig out of his hole. Listen to what Newt is trying to tell you politically. Imo.

“. . . no matter what amount of freedom and dignity they have to give up to have that stuff.”

If it WERE about this, you’d have a point. What it is about, and you know this, is that there is no future with this system.

When these people swear in they promise to protect the Constitution.

They AND voters ignore that, but it IS the truth of what’s going on.

They do not get to make up their own rules and not have consequences. All actions have consequences.

I don’t disagree with any of that except to say that few if any of Newt’s supporters have rose colored glasses. He is a mixed bag, and this comment about Mitt was just gratuitious. What he should have said, if he felt like saying anything, was that Mitt was absoutely right, and should have said so in defending his 47% comments BEFORE election day.

Another thing is this, Newt had the message twice in the primry season, only to be taken off his game by Mitt’s super PAC and obscene negative campaigning in both Iowa and then Florida. And I mean obscene.

Newt is no doubt still ticked off.

I voted for Gingrich here in Florida.

Yes, I say he is wrong.

You follow him if you want to, he will lead you to further defeat, and so will every other repubican. The entire pary outside of about 5 people is a disaster.

I don’t care if you attack me for attacking him. It isn’t going to help you, and neither will he.

Mitt was right, except that it’s more than 47%.

When you include fraud, it’s infinity.

“Who does Santa ripoff on his fairly tale journey to deliver gifts?”

I wrote Rush last week to beg him to drop the Santa reference. It is a missed analogy.

Santa is not a fairy tale, he was a Bishop in East Europe whose name is from the Dutch. The caricature is from Moore’s poem “A visit from. . .”

Santa does infuse the holidays with charity, it is true.

He has a naughty list. Parents used to use it for the betterment of their efforts in child rearing, producing contrubutors to society who are presently flipping in their graves.

But no one gets ripped off.

If I could come up with a better analogy for Rush, I would share the idea.

Equating Hussein with a great saint at least a wonderful American persona whose naughty list Hussein would be on for a host of issues is terrible.

Well, I guess the GOP has declared war on white males too, thanks GOP, white males are the new boogeymen, Martin Luther King Jr. wanted us to judge one another by the content of one’s character rather than the color of one’s skin, well, our leadership, like the Democrats, are a**holes and racists, thanks for nothing GOP!

Newt changes with the wind. People need to read the latest anncoulter.com article. We all know selective fraud tipped Hussein the election. But it is the demographics and welfare state that really makes the difference. Some quotes from article.

"More white people voted for Mitt Romney this year than voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980. Barack Obama lost white voters by 20 points -- the widest margin since 1984.

But in 1980, whites were 88 percent of the electorate. In 2012, they were 72 percent of the electorate. Not only that, but the non-white electorate is far more Democratic than it was in 1980.

If the same country that voted in 1980 had voted in 2012, Romney would have won a bigger landslide than Reagan did.

Most Americans don't realize that, decades ago, the Democrats instituted a long-term plan to gradually turn the United States into a Third World nation. Under Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration act, our immigration policy changed from one that replicated the existing ethnic population to one that strictly favored unskilled immigrants from the Third World. Since 1968, 85 percent of legal immigrants have come from what is euphemistically called "developing countries."

Because recent immigrants have no skills, they arrive in dire need of government assistance. Their desperation has been an enormous boon to the Democratic Party.

Thirty-nine percent of native households receive some form of government assistance. By contrast, 57 percent of immigrant households -- legal immigrants -- get government assistance. We can't do anything about the native population, but why on Earth is America taking in immigrants who require taxpayer support?

If you come to America and immediately go on welfare, by definition, you are not a desirable immigrant. Except as a voter for the Democratic Party."

It is difficult to determine what it would have been, as I cannot imagine Mitt thinking and talking like a Conservative. He did have a momentary visit with the truth and common sense with the comment.

Well, accidents will happen.

Why does Newt Gingrich have to explain Romney's ideology. In my area of Florida, Romney was ahead until his comments to where many votes were offended. It backfired. A presidential candidate must always be better than the people out here complaining to give leadership. Who wants a coach that wins/loses some though runs to the camera to make excuses. I think he is addressing Romney making excuses. Romney should never put down part of the country in the fashion that he did. You cannot do that. You have to be smart and come across as caring for all Americans. You guys can blast Newt but he has more sense than anyone in the media and for putting himself out there. Who of you, will step up-this explains why good people will not run. They are torn to shreds. Newt has done more good for this country even with his faults. Maybe, once he leaves, we will have Rubio and Christie as the spokespeople. You can have those kiss along go along guys.. we need a reformer with leadership skills..like Newt and someone like him is out there since some don't like Newt. The person cannot be perfect, accept it, I have.

No it’s not nuts...the exit polls showed 75% of Hispanics thought they could get more Free Stuff from the Democrats...only 25% of them thought immigration was a key factor. I’m tired of opinions on this...look at the numbers and facts.
