In order to become a US citizen, immigrants must pass the Naturalization Test. American citizenship bestows the right to vote, improves the likelihood of family members living in other countries to come and live in the US, gives eligibility for federal jobs, and can be a way to demonstrate loyalty to the US. Applicants must get 6 answers out of 10 in an oral exam to pass the test. According to US Citizenship and Immigration services, 92 percent of applicants pass this test.
You must get 58 or more of these test questions correct in order to pass.

At a real citizenship interview, according to the guidelines we have for Liza’s citizenship (one more year to go) ... they choose 10 and you have to get only 4 or 6 correct (I forget the exact number)

I got 96%. I missed the question about when to register for selective service and what our national anthem is! :o I can never get that right.
At least I got the question about what Abraham Lincoln did (preserved the Union). We all agree about that here on FR right?

I believe that little piece of political correctness has come full circle. Now it's politically incorrect to call them "Native Americans", they actually prefer to be called "Indians" or "American Indians"

I was surprised to learn that one of the powers of the states is to provide education, especially since education is not mentioned once in the Constitution.
I was 59 out of 59, then the web page crashed. Stupid design. Took 10 times longer than necessary.
I was both surprised yet also pleased by that question (for the precise reason you state).
I assumed they were working on the premise "any power not specifically delegated to the government, is reserved for the states or the people" (Xth Amendment paraphrased) to come up with that.
At least it (the question) gives a passing nod to the notion that to "federalize" education ("Dept of Ed") is not Constitutional.
More’s the pity, that so many could not, or perhaps willfully WOULD not, pass this test, even though they are endowed by birthright with citizenship.
Incidentally, I got all 96, mostly as information I already had by the time I was in about fourth grade. The rest is largely based on current information.
Oddly, no questions were about MTV or NFL. Those I would probably miss.
I got it wrong. I read too much into the question and I know that 'Capitalism' isn't in our Constitution. It is a choice.

Got 96 of 96....almost quit twice because of the way it was set up...tenuous at best...

Some of the questions did not provide an accurate answer. Number 19 should be Socialist, #25 should be communist. And what is with #79 saying that the constitution "grants" some powers to the states?? WTF? Anyway if you can't get 58 of those questions right you should probably just stay in Mexico or where ever.
I got 96 out of 96, of course I went to school in the 50’s when you actually learned about America in school. I doubt if the average public screwl student of today could pass this test.
