An adorable 5-year-old girl on her way home from a family baby shower was shot in the stomach by a stray bullet early this morning in front of her Bronx apartment building, police said.
Relatives thought young Hailey Dominguez had fainted on the steps in the Hughes Avenue courtyard outside her apartment shortly before 1 a.m. They tried to carry her to the fifth-floor apartment where she lived before they realized she had been shot.
"We didn't know she got shot," said Keyla Rosario, the victim’s 15-year-old sister. "We were crying, not her."

I’m sorry that this child was shot but why did her parents have out at 1 am and who in the heck holds baby showers that end at that time of night!!!

That's Gloria Miranda, 34, young Hailey's mother. The article doesn't say whether Hailey has any younger siblings of whom Edwin is the father. Blarg.

Ironically, I am certain if I was shot in the stomach that I would cry like a 5 year old little girl.
She wasn’t shot by a stray bullet. She was shot by an Obamavoter.

Actually, in California the county in which you reside pretty much accounts for whether or not you can get a CCW. Most of the rural northern counties will issue any good standing person a permit. Problem is, where you really need a gun, the LEO’s won’t give you a permit. I remember a few years ago, the Police Chief in Isleton was giving CCW’s to any state resident who came in. The State didn’t like the fact that he was doing it, so they passed a law limiting his power to issue to those living in his jurisdiction.
