The ongoing and not-so-gradual loss of American Civilization is the result of two related phenomena: the invasion of our country from the southern border, and our elites' culture of self-loathing that oozed out of the noxious slime of the 60's.
Western Europe is rapidly losing its own civilization for identical reasons (with invaders more poisonous than America's, and its own reproductive decadence, thrown in to expedite the process).
The first phenomenon -- the invasions -- wouldn't be happening in either place had they not been preceded by the second -- our elites' descent into cultural self-hatred.
All self-respecting civilizations defend themselves vigorously from hostile invaders.
Examples from the West's own past are legion:
Europe, circa AD 732 (Battle of Tours -- the Franks, in the heart of Europe, halt the onrush of imperialistic Arab Islam); the Spanish Reconquista, circa 800-1492...
The list could go on.
...Our task is not merely to stop the ongoing physical invasions of America and Europe. Those unopposed invasions, by groups most of whom who seek fundamental, culturally destructive revolution in both places, are the symptoms, not the causes, of our decay.
We must teach the young, and many others who've forgotten, the remedial truth that they are the luckiest generation in human history -- because they are the inheritors and beneficiaries of 2500 years of accumulated human material and moral improvement, about 95% of which has been the gift to them and to the world of the Greco-Roman, Judeo-Christian civilization of the West.
Once this indisputable truth is again widely appreciated in the West, the other critical insight can emerge: that the West has at least as much right as any other culture to preserve itself from the collapse that mass invasion by will cause.

Reversing America’s decline?
Can be said in one word: impeachment.
There’s no way you’re going to reverse the decline of America until you first get a handle on our education system. What you are seeing in the ballot box is what you’re seeing in the classroom.

I can’t agree with the reasoning that invaders into Europe are any more poisonous than those coming into the USA.
The whole global and unidirectional migration from 3rd world to the West has been planned and executed by the UN at the detriment of the West.
And how has that migration benefitted the countries of the 3rd world? I don’t see any improvement in their quality of life.
For America to stop circling the drain, its people must first accept said drain is being circled. Most Americans have no clue as to why $16.5 trillion debt is a bad thing for the nation as a whole. Self-absorbed and self-interested as they are, their sole concern is getting their piece of the government pie.
After the gargantuan task of educating a questionably educable populace, leaders who will commit to traditional principles that brought America to greatness must be elected.
Minimally, a generation will pass before this ship can be righted again, if ever.
A great awareness starts with education.

The conclusion of the movie points to the path of saving America.
IMO, that was never the intent. The true intent was to destroy ours.
I saw the movie, too... the path to saving America was based heavily on hope and prayer of a future enlightenment of the populace. Unfortunately, that pathway was essentially blown away by the reelection of Obama.
I would definitely like to see our culture’s decline reverse itself, but I think that Belloc was right back in 1937 when he spoke at Fordham about the Crisi of Civilization being one that has come upon us because of events long ago. The Reformation destroyed the authority of the Catholic Church. Without the philosophy of Christendom, namely society being ordered to assist individuals to attain salvation, society has been left with the State as the supreme authority and that led to usury becoming common and capitalism which while, not in itself bad, created a large population that is dependent upon those who happen to have more money. The invasion from the south is of neither a quantity nor quality that we haven't handled in previous episodes of immigration. For instance, while reading a Civil War history recently I ran across the fact that in 1860 a majority of the inhabitants of WI were foreign-born.
The second claim hits closer to the mark, and is the reason we aren't handling assimilation well. Why should anyone want to assimilate into a despicable society, or at any rate one portrayed as such by its leaders?
But these people aren't "self-loathing," in fact it would be difficult to find any group in history with a higher opinion of itself.
What they are is "America-loathing" and on a higher level "Western Civilization loathing." Their very attitude of loathing for their own societies absolves them (in their own minds) of any of the sins of those societies.
So they can hate "America" and love themselves. In fact, they love themselves more because they hate "America."
This is, of course, why there is uncritical demand for random change and fundamental transformation of "America." Since "America" is the ultime evil, any change can only be an improvement.
It was the Immigration Act of 1965 that changed the demography of this country forever. It was pushed by folks like Ted Kennedy who wanted America to look like the rest of the world. America was no longer to be a predominantly white nation dominated by Western Civilization and culture.

Throughout most of our history, immigrants had a higher education level than most Americans. That is no longer the case.

They are not assimilating for a number of reasons. First, once you have a critical mass of numbers, you don't have to assimilate, especially when you can easily maintain daily contact with your home country and can still maintain familial ties.
Second, we have taught immigrants, the vast majority of whom are minorities, that there are benefits to being a minority and retaining that identity. Affirmative action and minority business set asides reward those who believe that they are victims. There are tangible benefits to retaining one's "tribal" identity.
Finally, they are not assimilating because they don't share the same sense of connection with our Founding Fathers who were white and Western European. They are associated with the same kinds of people that established colonies and dominance over minorities. For many who come from Latin America and Asia, white Europeans were not benign benefactors.

In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest level in our history. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any major developed country in the world, i.e., 0.963% (2011 estimate), principally due to immigration.
Demography is destiny. The US is not immune to the forces that have taken down other great nations and civilizations.

The massive influx of Irish in the early/mid 19th century was not composed of well-educated professional people, nor the huge numbers of Italian peasants coming in in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Chinese "coolies" of the second half of the 19th were not educated. To quote only three examples.

If parents made sure that their children were taught the constitutional statutes which divide state and federal government powers, Section 8 of Article I, Article V and the 10th Amendment, and you could probably fit those statutes on two pages, then we probably wouldn't have the unconstitutionally big federal government that we have today.
In fact, since you indicated immigration issues, please note the following. Noting that Section 8 mentioned above says nothing about immigration, the 10th Amendment clarifies in general that the states had reserved government power to regulate immigration uniquely to themselves, not the Oval Office and Congress. But don't take my word for it. Consider Thomas Jefferson's 10A-based clarification that immigration is a state power issue.
"4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. There was no decades long moratorium on immigration. We had reduced immigration levels that began in the 1920s that remained in force until 1965.
But I still firmly believe that the real issue is ideological. Immigrants are taught by our media that "their" culture is one to take pride in, and that "our" culture is one to be ashamed of. Why would anyone want to assimilate from a culture to be proud of into one they would need to be ashamed of?

This article is a very nice way to say that white people are under attack by savages. I’ve given up trying to divide the warring groups by conservative vs liberal. Anyone with a brain in their head knows that Mau Mau Buckwheat hates white people, and he wants to kill white people by the millions. He is America’s Hitler. They certainly were, but the difference is that the ‘foreign-born’ cited came from countries that had their foundation in European cultural values and philosphy.

Unless Spain is not considered part of Europe. No reasonable person will determine that Spanish-American countries don't have their (primary) foundation in Spanish "cultural values and philosophy."
Now you can make quite a decent case that Spain is a special case in Europe, with its culture dramatically impacted by Muslim conquest and occupation. Although a Spaniard of the time would likely have killed you for saying so.
But Spain is still part of Europe, and Latin American countries are all more European than native in their culture, though the mix varies.
And I have yet to see anybody point out why an individual Mexican peasant in 2012 is inherently less capable of assimilation than a Sicilian peasant in 1912. Both were culturally dramatically different from the American mainstream.
In the early 20s the rate of immigration fell off a cliff, and in the next half-century the immigrants pretty thoroughly assimilated, being isolated from cultural influences from the mother country.
I see no reason the same couldn't be done today, except that our elites won't allow another hiatus in massive immigration.
