The hope that many of us had that the nightmare of the Obama presidency would end faded into the night on November 6th. In reality though, "hope" was not very much of a plan.
In the experiences that I have had assisting companies and organizations avoid bankruptcy, there is a very predictable pattern that organizations face when they are dealing with serious financial problems.
The pattern involves economic growth and prosperity followed by overspending. From overspending and excess comes a period of denial that anything must change to solve the problem. From denial comes failure. If the failure is accepted and dealt with growth is restored and the cycle begins again. If failure is not accepted, the organization will cease to exist.
The sheer disappointment and almost melancholy reactions to the Obama reelection made me realize that the American people are no different in their reactions than the employees and managers of the companies that I am attempting to save.
In any plan to resurrect an economy, as Mitt Romney proposed in his five point plan, a majority of people must first come to grips with the reality of the difficulties that they face. While the difficulties may have been obvious to those of us who describe ourselves as fiscal conservatives, the election results convinced me that the American people have not yet reached that same conclusion.
We are a creative and vibrant people who believe in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Those three magical ingredients will fuel our rebirth. It is sad, though, that we need a rebirth when death was avoidable.

I accepted the reality of our country's collapse in 2007. I have also prepped since 1998 to be responsible for my life.
If the country's economy collapses, which I think it has to, my personal world will continue to function well.
If you care about yourself and your loved ones, prepare to be responsible for your safety, food, water and health care. Insurance for your survival and spiritual welfare is No. 1, everything else is No. 2.

I think an optimistic outlook would be Japan's lost decade. Unless we have a major economic reform that literally unleashes America's productivity (massive energy production, exploration, etc) OR an entirely new economic sector emerges (think the internet boom out of pretty much nothing), we could simply hope for a long, stagnation versus worst possibilities.
God does not force anyone to make a decision against his will. What we sow, we will reap. As a whole, this nation is sowing sloth, immorality, and wastefulness on a scale unknown to history.
We are about to reap a very, very ugly crop.
We still haven’t experienced the economic shock of Obamacare, the virtual nationalization of one sixth of U.S. economy, but as I’ve read, Big Pharma is now cutting down investments, as are medical equipment manufacturers and researchers. That is the elephant in the room, as I see it, something that Japan did not experience during the period you mention. We can only hope that Obamacare is defeated piece by piece, one way or another.
It is not hyperbolic or only something for them ‘Tin Foil Hat’ crowd, Look what is happening right before your eyes and take heed. There’s a Great Storm coming you can feel it.

Sandy’s lesson is right before your eyes just as it was with Katrina; You either prepare and stand on your own or you can depend on a bunch of self-serving politicos, third class bureaucratic and chance to provide your basic needs.
Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.
Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo. Maybe while you stand there you will get a chance to a prop in some politico’s photo op and even get your picture on the national news.

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, gas cans, cooking stove/fuel, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Correct- the ONLY way it coudl recover now that it has sunk so far into hte sewer is IF God raises it up supernaturally- because Lord knows this coutnry WILL NOT voluntarilly take themselves off the government teet now that they have ‘tasted the good life’ thanks to government handouts and entitlements
This country has been going left for a long time now, and the great influx of leftist illegals into thuis country, and hte whing of the atheists and religions other than Chriostianity have dragged thsi country so far left that htere is NO gettign back the ocne great country we’ve so blindly squandered away!
Our America is gone—but I have hopes that a new America will be born from the chaos that is coming—inflation, riots, central control, rationing, spies, and “the Camps” are all coming. But—things will change and change quickly. A spin to the right will come—that will be fascistic. There will be a great leader (it sure aint Obama) —there will be flags and uniforms, new music and art, yes, scapegoats too, It will be a re-brith but not of the America we once knew—a strange America with both good and bads. Good thing—No more PC, No more Race Cards, No more illegals, Globalism will be gone—we will make all we need here. More Jobs, a draft for National Service, yes, wars as well. Bads, Drug tests for all Americans once a month—failure to comply 6 months in the Labor Camps. A take over of all media—they will be forced to make pro-American films and TV shows or to the Camps with them! Freedom of speech will no longer exist. That’s what I see.
Sorry, but where in scripture do you read that things eventually get better (short of Christ’s return of course). Everything I have ever read tells a story of moral, political, and spiritual decline until the Second Coming. Did I miss something?

You can NOT change that kind of attitude once it sets in- it is an incurrable cancer- money (and ‘free’ money in the form of entitlements) are the root of all evil- and htis country has proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt by votign in EVIL and voting God out of this country- The truth DID NOT register with hte people- they preferred the LIES (Because the lies came from a black liberal (Whom they dare not call to the carpet for his lies because he is black) who promissed them free stuff)

Sometimes I wonder what Zero, et. Al. Know that we don’t. Is there a giant asteroid coming soon and we don’t need to bother over who will pay the bills?
