I still wonder how much of this story is one of scum-on-scum where all knew the others were scum. They lured their quarry with a promise of cocaine. Try that with the average Jane in a bar and see how quick you get busted or stinged. Was there some vendetta, against other druggies or pushers maybe, that the thrill killers wanted to avenge with their thrill.
Still, any sane justice system would have done away with the killers or be marching them in that direction given whatever external court hurdles are inevitable.
There’s a great Oingo Boingo song that parodies the liberal soft-on-crime mentality, called Only a Lad, that I think is appropriate here:
Johnny was bad, even as a child everybody could tell
Everyone said if you don’t get straight
You’ll surely go to hell
But Johnny didn’t care
He was an outlaw by the time that he was
Ten years old
He didn’t wanna do what he was told
Just a prankster, juvenile gangster
His teachers didn’t understand
They kicked him out of school
At a tender early age
Just because he didn’t want to learn things
(Had other interests)
He liked to burn things
The lady down the block
She had a radio that Johnny wanted oh so bad
So he took it the first chance he had
Then he shot her in the leg
And this is what she said
Only a lad
You really can’t blame him
Only a lad
Society made him
Only a lad
He’s our responsibility
Only a lad
He really couldn’t help it
Only a lad
He didn’t want to do it
Only a lad
He’s underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused
His parents gave up they couldn’t influence his attitude
Nobody could help
The little man had no gratitude
And when he stole the car
Nobody dreamed that he would
Try to take it so far
He didn’t mean to hit the poor man
Who had to go and die
It made the judge cry
Only a lad
He really couldn’t help it
Only a lad
He didn’t want to do it
Only a lad
He’s underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused
It’s not his fault that he can’t believe
It’s not his fault that he can’t behave
Society made him go astray
Perhaps if we’re nice he’ll go away
Perhaps he’ll go away
He’ll go away
(Repeat chorus)
Hey there Johnny you really don’t fool me
You get away with murder
And you think it’s funny
You don’t give a damn if we live or if we die
Hey there Johnny boy
I hope you fry!

the only reason i’d want him released is to have acess to him. not fit for society.
Perp will not be released early:

hey, blue & grey potpourri, what i mean is it sounds logical that they picked someone who they already knew was interested in the coke, and not as in cola. why else take such an idiotic risk (oops, officer mary, who came when straight arrow susan complained about being offered coke, we wanted to thrill kill you). some digging might even turn a story like that up. if the liberals saw it as scum vs. scum they might be a bit more lenient on the surviving scum. just sayin.
At least they reversed it. And also, that piece of filth must be suffering at the loss of his near freedom. He’s lived 13 years longer than he should have already, hopefully the publicity will have consequences in the cellblock.
Is it wrong to hope for jailhouse justice? Justice delayed is justice denied, where was the justice in this case. Now if it had been a politician’s daughter maybe something more would have been done to him. In a supposed nation of laws, 100’s of 100’s of them, it seems the equality part has been dropped.
not reversed yet but i bet they will. further reviewing means they could go ahead with their original intention.
Hey, I resemble that remark...
Perhaps so. Who knows what runs through the head of an idiot. (Liberal parole board members)
I believe I missed the connection as far as them making the decisions based on this concept. I thought you were merely contemplating the idiocy of taking a chance on being caught during the negotiating process with the woman.
Likely so!!
It struck me as a possible odd consequence of the Democrat take on drugs, which while sometimes blamed for being “soft” on immorality, actually misplaces moral responsibility from a person who misuses a chemical to the chemical itself. It is as though the chemical could leap out of a test tube and seize someone by the neck.
Then, with the chemical thus demonized, the woman into the coke could have been seen as a dabbler in a demonic death powder rather than the person with lack of self control she was. So now she’s an extreme bad thing (in the liberal mind) as are the thrill killers.
It isn’t true social conservatives who spearheaded the stuff about demon rum and reefer madness. It was progressives looking for an easier scape goat than the difficult moral task of learning self control in a dangerous world.
Yeah, you resembled potpourri :-)
If the ones who clamored loudest for this want to welcome him into their neighborhood, far be it from us to deny them their wish. Otherwise the big hypocrites should just shut up.
Thanks for the explanation.
I often use blue and gray, so you’ll see it again soon I’m sure.
