Sorry but the voting doesn’t reflect that.

Then why do Americans keep voting for socialism?

Does, perhaps, the media help them make this decision? ;-)

Assuming this poll is accurate, this just goes to show that a great deal of our electorate are unable to actually IDENTIFY socialism when it is foisted upon them...

This is why the Dems get so angry when you call their lord and savior Barrack a socialist, as well as why they so adamantly deny that which they are.

Two thoughts:

1. If this be the case, nobama has a lot of people fooled.

2. What about the 47%? Seems they’d almost have to be underrepresented to get the numbers Rasmussen is reporting.

Then why do Americans keep voting for socialism?

Because most 'Americans' can not explain the difference between capitalism and socialism. They can, however, explain the difference between the iPad and the Kindle.

Rasmussen kept predicting a Romney victory, too. I’m looking for a grain of salt right about now.

If this poll truly reflects the opinions of US citizens regarding Socialism v. Capitalism, then may we assume that a majority of African-Americans, academics, and young people don’t know what the Hell they voted for? And whose fault is that? Are these groups capable of understanding the import of what they have done, or have they just not been exposed to facts?

The word “socialism” is rejected, even by the left.

However, they’ll support the quacking, waddling, web-footed, feathered creatures and declare that they don’t support “duckism”.

There has been more than one example — Howard Stern in 2008 comes to mind — when someone will do “Man on the Street” style interviews, intentionally switch candidates positions, attribute it to the other person, and ask voters if they agree. The interviewed would praise the GOP’s side thinking it was the Dem's position, then state support for Obama. It's the American Idol mentality. People are ill-informed.

Why didn’t the Republican Party ever label Mr. Obama and his followers what they really are? I kept waiting to hear the M and S words, but Republicans are too intimidated by the criminals now in power even to whisper in private what they should have pasted on every billboard from sea to shining sea: Barack Obama is a Marxist and the US is roaring down the path to Socialism and national poverty.

The word is rejected by the left and still 24% find it favorable. That is not America we used to know.

Well, maybe “rejected by the left” is too strong...

“not admitted to by the left” might be more accurate.

They’ll still support all the trappings and policies of socialism but will deny that they support socialism.

Temper any Rasmussen poll with the fact that he UTTERLY FAILED to predict the re-election of Dictator Zero.

Then why do Americans keep voting for socialism?

Because the Republicans are afraid to call the Democrats the socialists they are. Even the Democrats do not dare call themselves that.

However, just 24% have a favorable opinion of socialism.

Then why the HELL did nearly 53% VOTE FOR IT? What were those in the other 29% thinking?
