Is it now time to go Galt?
Tea Party Nation. ^ | 12/1/12 | Judson Phillips

Going Galt has a nice ring to it. Most people do not know what going Galt really means. Like so many expressions we have today, it can mean any number of things.

How about a going Galt strategy that will generate results? What does going Galt mean and how would the strategy work?

Going Galt is generally meant that those of us who are producers in society simply refuse to produce any more. Without producers, the economy will collapse. After all, without the producers, who is going to make what the takers want?

Going Galt is actually something the left would like. After all, the goal of Obama and the hard left is not simply to rule but to fundamentally change America. A crisis like that would give them the chance.

So what do we do?

I understand how and why the meaning of “going Galt” has changed from it’s origins... It has devolved to something more in-line with “going on strike”. Why? because it’s simply not possible for us to just “disappear” to some unknown location where everybody there understands and lives by the principles of hard work and responsibility... leaving behind a society dependent upon those who have left.

While Ann Rand was truly before her time, she was not a Christian. She was Jewish.

Maybe she got the idea of “Going Galt” from the bible?

You know... where all of a sudden millions of Christians suddenly disappear from the face of the earth resulting in utter chaos?

Maybe she was a Christian... I don’t know... but her solution to Society’s ills sure sounds a lot like a fictitious take on the rapture to me.

the progressive-statist regime would be replaced by a military dictatorship.

You mean a bunch of guys in uniforms, who had taken an oath to support and protect the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC?

How soon can we do this?

I’ve been researching Ukraine for about two years. For some reason it’s outside our federal government’s sphere of influence. Even a small SS check goes a long way there. The women are legendary. Family is still of the utmost importance. The bureaucraic nuances can be managed with applications of cash.

Permanent residency requires jumping through lots of hoops or a single payment of $100,000 to, euphimisticaly speaking, improve the country when paid to the appropriate governmen ministry official.

I plan on doing some on the ground looking within the next few months.

Ukrainian banks even pay a far better interest rate than available there. Like anything else, let the buyer beware. I’m still in bewaring mode.

Being wary is the wisest thing to do. Everything I’ve read or heard, from old family history and lore or via more formal literature says that to be notably different in times of major trouble puts a target on your back.

You’re better off with people who know you, family, friends, neighbors of long standing. Barring that, among people who are at least like you. Tribalism sets in, the impulse to blame outsiders is a strong one.

Make sure you’re in no position to become a scapegoat.

Anybody who loves liberty will not be safe in a blue state when the economy crashes, and it will. The state and local ticks and parasites will always do a big final vampire routine on any hosts within range when the currency fails. The law will be fully on their side, so my advice is don’t be in range.

I know some ex-pats that work there. What you posted here is similar to what I heard from them. Hard to believe that the USA has digressed to the point where the Ukraine appears to be a better place to live.

That is a lot of money to go live in a country where the bureaucracy is pretty much on the take... I would not trust paying such a fee to the Ukraine govt. On the other hand in Thailand - you can get a retirement VISA to stay forever by just having $30,000 in a Thai bank (your account) for 60 days while applying. Cost of living is low - A nice 2br.,2bth.,town home in a Bangkok runs about $425/month. Many Thais speak English and the Thai language is not too difficult to learn. And the women are wonderful.

Ah... well that makes it even more interesting don’t you think?

God had the idea of “Going Galt” long before she did.

I think “Going Galt” might have been an option when the western frontier was still open but not since.

Well, for that matter, the actual tea party and American revolution WAS a form of Going Galt... the gaining of independence.

It’s still an option today... but not on the face of the earth.

Galt’s real counterpart is Jesus.

” You mean a bunch of guys in uniforms, who had taken an oath to support and protect the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC?”

This is after the progressive statist have killed the Constitution. I envision more of a Central American/African style military take over.

We have the guns so sit down and shut up.

It will be a lot easier if the progressive statist disarm the public.

But that’s all they know - how to run military dictatorships. Which is fine by them, because they still get to ride around in the limos.

Look at Detroit, and tell me if anyone cares, or blames the left.

Okay, let’s talk about reality, America changed “fundamentally” long before we ever heard of Obummer and company, had it not he would not be in the position he is in, he would be an unknown. What they want to do now is make us give up all pretense to the contrary and acknowledge that we have no rights any longer. Amazingly I still hear someone occasionally refer to the “great freedoms” that we supposedly still enjoy in America. It is like referring to the great flocks of Passenger Pigeons that used to darken the skies as if they still exist. No one is living now who remembers these great flocks, many would not recognize the name of the Passenger Pigeon and it appears that possibly one day no one will be left who remembers when we actually had some freedom.

Few ever pause to think that “free” is a superlative. If I offer to sell something that is worth ten thousand dollars for ten cents one may say that it is nearly free or “free for all practical purposes” etc. but strictly speaking it is not free if the price is only one cent even, as witnessed by the fact that anyone who lacks the penny may not partake. There are no degrees of freedom therefore, there are only degrees of price. Likewise when speaking of political or economic freedom, there are no degrees of freedom, there are only degrees of repression. There was a time in America when most of us were very nearly free and could call ourselves free without raising objections but any American who fancies himself to be a free man now lives in a foggy dream world with little connection to reality. I believe we still have quite a few who live in that fog and willfully refuse to go up out of the foggy valley to the hilltop and look at the real world unobscured.

Every day I wake up to an America in which all kinds of awful things which, “Can’t happen here, this is America!” happen every day.

I don’t think Sarah will ever be in a position to lead. I believe, from watching her behavior, that her family was threatened by Obama’s godfathers and she can’t fulfill her destiny for fear that physical harm will come to her family via the progressive “mob.”

I read the whole article. I must be out-of-touch with current events. I was under the impression that “Going Galt” meant that it was necessary to shoot thugs who try to rob you in subways. In other words, just start shooting to right the wrongs of society. Am I in error or just behind-the-times?

Finding our “Galt’s Gulch” will not involve any kind of frontier land, unless we ALL move to Patagonia.

Patagonia is about the only place left. If we all moved down there, we could just “invade”. Settle down, build simple shelters, and within 3 generations have manufacturing setup. We can ship our things down there, including things that other countries might not want to see (Medicines and firearms)

I’m not in the mood for it. America is my home, and it was doing just fine before the liberal mindset and socialist pigs got ahold of it. I have no problem defending the United States of America, because it is here, and I am here.

A few people have stated a good idea: Zero in on the red states. The electoral map has shown us where our kind for many, many years now. These areas have enough to survive (It’ll be hard at first, no one claimed it wouldn’t be) but the blood-shed against any fellow countryman would be minimal.

I live in PA. PA Has no ports (Except a small frontage-feet in Erie) and would have to deal with Eastern states to get any kind of shipped supplies from overseas. But PA also has a natural resource to use for leverage - Its natural gas. I believe that a seperated PA could certainly trade it’s way through the tough times with what is essentially “enemy states”.

And make no mistake. We have Enemy States even at this point. Being from an Enemy state, I have seen how their corruption and socialist leanings have managed to destroy any part of being an american that the populace has.

I went Galt.

I moved from CT, where I was “sufficiently” employed, working my tail off. I managed to make that work mostly “work at home” type of stuff, and picked up everything and moved. Now in this town I am making contacts with local business owners, banks and citizens to assemble some sort of foundation for “post apocalyptic” trade and society. But already the farms are closing up, the land is going to weeds, and people are lined up at food banks to feed their family and themselves. Very depressing.

I am offering my services throughout town, to all and any local business and home to do whatever I can do. From fix cars to fix computers and complex systems. I’ll fix tractors, and I tell everyone around here that I will.

In order for this to be successful, we need to center in on a dollar, or a currency. Barter simply doesn’t work when there is any kind of currency in the area. Again - If currency exists - Barter will only get you so far.

A long time ago the US had mints setup throughout the land. It was easier to setup a printing press, with a gold vault in the basement, than it was to ship currency to outlying lands. These printing presses and vaults are still here. If the town were to keep their wealth in a local bank, that practices judeo-christian banking practices, the town would have the ability to print it’s own regional money. Through agreements and inspections with neighboring towns, those towns could trade their currency, and the currency spreads. Basically, the whole system resets.

This is a very important contention of mine with the latest “fiscal cliff” and “dollar collapse” conversation. If the dollars collapse, there is going to be a tidal wave of foreign currency flowing into the country. We CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.

Currency is a measure of your self-worth. As a person, I work hard, maintain clean living and help others around me. I AM WORTH MORE than a 22 year old pensioner that frequents the methadone clinic in London. It’s true. I’m better than he. And as a civilization, Conservatives ARE BETTER THAN liberals. We are worth more.

To take part in their currency would damage us worse than any salvo of gunfire. Worse than any invasion. If the EURO takes foothold in America, our value as people is destroyed. We will get lumped in with everyone else. Happened in Europe, it will happen here. It is designed to work like that.

We MUST. I can not stress this enough, we MUST focus on rebuilding a currency after this one falls. We have no time to prepare, it’s right around the corner. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point. we MUST localize currency and return to our worth on the world scale.

According to the greenies, I (as an american) require 25 or so “eco-slaves” (or whatever they call it) and they want to end that. They want to end my position in the world. No. No no no no .. I’m worth 25 indo-chinese and african terrorist / muslim soccer players because I am simply better than they are.

And you all are too.
