MDB has a thread. Someone posted about talking to an Uncle who works for the Chiefs. said he (Jevon) did it in front of players/coaches.
Bad all the way around.
This is just info from another thread. Do your own DD to confirm, etc. just posting into to help this thread.

I can never understand why some can’t just walk away from a relationship; the pain is temporary as opposed to murdering your ex which is permanent and for which you will surely pay, if not in this world then certainly in the next.

Prayers to the families.
Did he really have to kill his S.O.? Never found any yet worth dying over or going to jail over. Too many fishes out there. Too many years of NOT learning how deal with loss or betrayal. Too many years of everybody gets a trophy. Now it’s biting us in the collective butts. And, obviously it was the guns fault. Or Bush’s. If uncle obie had a football player son...............

I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS IS TRUE, BUT WANTED TO PASS ALONG WHAT WAS ON A SPORTS MESSAGE BOARD. WE WILL SEE IF IT TURNS OUT TO BE ACCURATE:
“From what I’m adding up he shot and killed his gf Kasandra Perkins and then drove to the facility and killed himself in front of Scott pioli and Crennel. Worst part about the whole story is they just had their first child in Sept....they leave behind a 1 1/2 month old baby. Terrible story this morning....”

Right underlying problem, but wrong root cause. If the man is an NFL player, even on a lousy team, I don't think he was affected by the "everyone gets a trophy" thing. More likely, as someone who was an exceptional athlete, he was especially protected from consequences because of his athletic ability and never matured.

Possibly, she was the first person ever to say “no” to him. “OJ” jock-entitlement syndrome. Narcissism fueled by unlimited adulation. Sometimes enhanced with a touch of ‘roid-rage.
It’s a pattern, and I have no idea whether it’s the case here.

Having been in a relationship where the other half could not walk away, I don't understand it either. Back then I was divorced and had just started dating again after 2 years. I met this fellow through a mutual friend who had known him since childhood. So he seemed like a nice enough guy.
We dated about 4 or 5 weeks....maybe saw each other a total of 7 times. But I guess that was all it took. He saw us as a long term thing and since I had a small child (my son was 6 at the time) I wanted to be a bit more careful about who I would spend the rest of my life with. I started being harassed by phone at work when I could not find time to spend with him. He would call constantly to make sure I was at work or at home....back then there was no caller ID.
I lived in an apartment at the time with a balcony. One night my son and I were out on the balcony looking at the stars. I saw the glow of a cigarette in the trees next to the building....was there for the entire time we were outside. The next morning I took the dog for a walk into those trees and there were probably 50 cigarette butts in those woods. The brand I knew he smoked.
So I told him I thought it was best for both of us if we slowed down. I was working longer hours and had less time for my son and I did not want that! He didn't take to that idea at all. He followed me every where I went. He would be in the grocery, in the restaurant, the parking lot.
I contacted the local sheriff's office only to be told that if we had never physically lived together there was nothing they could do. I told them I wanted it on record that I had reported this in case anything happened. Back then there were no stalker laws.
One night he got drunk and was arrested (I found out through the mutual friend who had introduced us). He skipped bond and moved out of state. Thank God!!!
I never could understand why someone believes this sort of thing will increase a person's feelings for them....well, it increased feeling alright but not in a good way! I spent many a sleepless night wondering which one of us would end up dead.....me or him....I had planned on it not being me but having a small child at the time made a huge difference for me. I would have done anything to keep my child safe and perhaps this is a big part of this story today. I realized at some point I was either going to end up dead or in prison from killing this guy. To this day, I will see something or hear something that reminds me and it sends shivers down my spine. To this day, I sleep with a gun under my pillow.
I pray for the family of both the victim and the murderer. I know how this feels and it ain't pretty....no one wins in this fight.
