Teacher's Reward Program Charges Second-Graders for Bathroom Breaks ( Irving - Dallas )
nbc dfw ^ | Nov 30, 2012 | Kevin Cokely

The mother of a 7-year-old Irving elementary school student says her son wet his pants in class after his teacher refused to let him use the restroom

...

Cross' son, an honor roll student, needed to go to the bathroom, but he sat back down because he didn’t have any Boyd Bucks, his mother said.

"He tried to hold it as much as he could, but he just couldn’t," Cross said. "He came home from school, and he was crying and really upset."

"Really, that's just unhealthy," Cross said. "I think that she had no concern for the children."

Cross complained to the teacher, but didn’t like the response.

"Originally when I first spoke with the teacher, she was just going to show my son special treatment, but then I said, 'That's just not good enough. I need for you to stop this for all the children,'" she said.

Didn't you send your children to public school, especially when you were getting your degree and then gallivanting around the world. I seem to remember someone telling me you also went to a public school as well, and a State college to get your degree didn't you?

Government schools are child abuse!

Just so I am clear you are admitting to child abuse when you willing sent your children to public school. That is what you just said.

At the private catholic school I went to, we were forced to read “The Bluest Eye”. My mom read it, and promptly went up to my English teacher and gave him an earful about forcing us to read that kind of garbage!

Nothing changed, of course. The teacher said we had to read it because the author was black.

If/when I have kids, they will be homeschooled.

“While an admirable character trait, that is an example of why conservatives are losing against the left.”

How is this an example when I won without having to stoop to the left’s tactics?

On free republic it is the right and DUTY of all members to point out hypocrisy and fallacies when we see them. When you start to tell the truth I won't have to.

The liberals running the indoctrination centers are doubling down to ensure that they exert absolute control over the children.

Everyday, we see the signs of decades of dumbing down the schools by liberal teachers unions. Clinton is one example, Obama is the most recent.

Now, they want to demonstrate that they have total control over EVERY aspect of these kids’ lives, INCLUDING the biological ones!!

Aren’t free government things wunnerful!???

Because I’m a Christian, I couldn’t in good conscience take the school district to the cleaners and destroy lives just because they were ignorant.

I appreciate your Christian values, but I think you are confusing Christianity with being a doormat.

The Bible tells us "an eye for an eye". Neither the teacher, nor the principle were ignorant, the liberal-run teachers unions are doubling down to exercise total control over the children who attend their indoctrination centers. And, that control extends itself to their biological functions.

Don't confuse ignorance with evil. These people are evil and they are evil deliberately.

The truth is, “Texas Education” is a disgrace, and has been for many years, but you all ( pardon me ‘yall ) just don’t want the rest of the country to know the truth do you.

So, you don't like Texas, huh? Care to give specifics on the issues you have with Texas education that are so disgraceful?

As we say here in Texas, "You are plumb eat up with the dumb@$$!"

Education conditions across this vast State are no more uniform than the amount of grass cover on the ground.

What is your real beef with Texas (or Texans)?

To quote a hag with whom we were once threatened as First Lady, "Shove it!"

"How is this an example when I won without having to stoop to the left’s tactics?"

They're still employed and suffered no consequences. They will just shift their abusive proclivities to some other point of power control.

Texas union run schools are no different than any other union run State school system.

The problem is not the schools, its those in-charge of the schools.

You might at least learn how to spell “y’all” if you are going to write nasty things about us. The word is a contraction of “you” and “all” with the apostrophe taking the place of the letters left out. This is the basic rule for contractions, which I learned in elementary school - in the Dallas Independent School District. Imagine that! Looks like I am more educated than you are - on this point, at least - and in spite of my “Texas Education.”

“The Bible tells us “an eye for an eye”. Neither the teacher, nor the principle were ignorant....”

I wasn’t aware that you personally knew them. The New Testament instructs us to love our neighbor as our self. The “eye for an eye” is Old Testament. If I do something ignorant I’d prefer someone speak to me and enlightens me rather than dragging me into court and destroying my life and my career. Of course if I don’t subsequently change, then I deserve what I get.

“...the liberal-run teachers unions are doubling down to exercise total control over the children....”

That may be true, however the incident I mentioned happened many years ago.

“These people are evil and they are evil deliberately.”

Again, I didn’t realize you knew the specific people. They seemed pretty horrified when presented with documentation and the ramifications. They were truly sorry, and were truly ignorant. I’m pretty sure it sparked adequate fear in them of what could have potentially happened that they had a “there but for the grace of God go I” moment, which from their reaction seemed punishment enough. There are enough evil teachers that we don’t need to besmirch the ones that are honestly trying, even if at times ignorant and misguided. Lets not paint them all with the same brush. Thankfully, my daughter only had to be in public school a few years due to severe economic hardship.

I don’t have to know them, personally. I have been a teacher and a technical trainer. I’ve seen what they do in the classroom and I have seen the aftereffects.

IOW, I have walked a mile in their mocassins.

They were only horrified that you caught them, not at their ignorance.

Public schools are the reason our culture has become ‘more tolerant’ of ‘gay marriage’ and other perversions...

“They were only horrified that you caught them, not at their ignorance.”

Oh, then you must have been a fly on the wall? They weren’t simply remorseful they’d been caught. I come from a long line of teachers, as well as a dean of a prominent Christian college. I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck. But please, feel free to tell me what I experienced and witnessed first hand in the small, conservative community. You really must have been a teacher because you seem to want to re-frame what I know as the reality of what happened and replace it with supposition and opinion.

“You might at least learn how to spell “y’all” if you are going to write nasty things about us”

I learned the spelling in Memphis, they spell it differently than you do! I said nothing that wasn’t the truth, but you don’t like it because it offends the place you live. My point exactly. If you don’t like the heat, stay out of the kitchen. We Californians don’t like what you say here about us either. That’s the issue. We should all be in this together and I was just saying I am tired of the BS Texans lay out here about where I live! All that said, won’t be joining you any time soon, so relax, the weather here is just too good to leave, and there are no bugs either.
