Homeland Security Uses Local Police to Set Up Surveillance Buffer Zones
The New American ^ | Joe Wolverton, II, J.D.

In order to sweeten the pot of federalization, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is giving gifts of expensive gadgets to local police forces. (snip) How is all this new technology being used? Who is being watched? Why are they being targeted for surveillance? Neither law enforcement nor federal agents are talking.

When contacted by The New American, the DHS representative in New Jersey refused to answer these questions, saying that revealing what information is being collected, how long it will be stored, or who will have access to it would threaten national security. Of course.

I’ve wondered if the feds might have been behind the push to eliminate our little local police force. They were all good local guys who knew everyone and they behaved like traditional small town cops.

After they were gone the county took over and inside of two years came the Hutaree raid.

So, completely and only as an intellectual exercise, a putative American insurgency would be well advised to take out local police stations as part of a guerrilla war. Militarizing police makes them fair game in a peasant revolt.

Theoretically of course.

I’d say your hypothetical is quite correct.

We’ve always had the county, but before that there was no one. Seriously looking for employment that does not involve driving into a large city with a thousand cameras, they are just creepy.

I wouldn’t count on the local cops supporting anyone but the government. Very few cops know anything about the constitution.

The way to fight the creation of a police state is to constantly expose what they’re up to... Step ONE is get local newspapers to hire a ‘token’ conservative.

In some cities the police don’t cooperate with the feds on illegal immigration “sanctuary cities” and some on drugs... so how exactly do they get to pick and choose which laws they will enforce and which they won’t?

How is it that these same departments can go all hog-wild police state in other instances?

The whole point about a “nation of laws, not of men” is that the law be predictable and equally enforced. We no longer have that. The process of destroying the fabric of this country has gone so far, I’m not real sure whats left.

don’t let them ever get rid of sheriffswherever you live. they are the only check and balance on federal agents in your county as they arethe top law enforcement official in thge county, and technically can boot out any fed agent the want, if necessry. technically no fed police activity can occur in a county without sheriff approval.

Several hypothetical scenarios could be envisioned. Instead of taking the local police head on, it would be better to create diversions. For example, pose as Leftists or union thugs that seek to challenge police authority via hit and run raids. Encourage welfare types to attack police that will be guarding the local grocery stores and Wal-marts. This will tie most local forces down and some police may come over to the conservative side.
In an anarchical SHTF situation, the groups giving the police the most trouble will probably be organized crime. Criminal groups are probably best positioned to thrive in an anarchical situation. These gangs could challenge the local police or else they could be paid off and co-opted by the Feds.

Feds = German (Nazi, and yes I think we have pretty much arrived at that juncture) occupiers

That local sheriff they replaced? Think Vichy

Surveillance Buffer Zones? Preparations for dividing territory into zones of control. Papers please?

One high ranking TSA official has already stated publicly that we citizens have no right of free passage in our own country.

Since our rulers have stated there is no Islamic terrorism, the question is asked, who are these “measures” designed to control?

Hushmail.com. Check it out. The feds are already sifting through billions of emails looking for radicals supporting the Bill of Rights. A word to the wise.

Anyone that honestly thinks leftist toady judges will roll any of this back should go promptly to the ER and have their head surgically removed from their rectum.

The Feds have been working toward getting the public to accept a Federal Police force since 1968.

Simple: because it’s all about the budget. At the town/city level, cops have very tight budgets because the town is giving so much money away to entitlements and other pointless spending. As a result, the only way the cops can get any kind of money is from Federal grants. Therefore, they do whatever gets them the widest spread of that money. Cooperating with the feds on surveillance of ordinary citizens gets them lots of cash for new patrol cars, uniforms, camera systems etc. Resisting the feds by trying to enforce immigration laws that the feds are choosing to ignore means the department gets passed over for any grants tied in any way to immigration.
