IT'S PARTY TIME! Third Party, that is, Tea Party, to be Exact!
examiner ^ | November 28, 2012 | By: Jeff Waller

So, should conservatives remain in the GOP where they are, as a rule, ignored? Why should they? The argument has been made that the formation of a third political party, particularly one that draws from the GOP, would ensure that the Liberal Left will become more entrenched in government, and neither the GOP nor this third party will stand a chance of winning the White House for the foreseeable future.

Counter to this argument, conservatives say that it matters not when the GOP is but a shadow of the Democrat Party. Central to resistance for a Romney nomination was the feeling that Mitt Romney, a moderate, was naught but Obama-lite. Believers maintained that Mitt Romney had no real intention of completely repealing ObamaCare, since he was the author of similar legislation as governor.

Conservatives know that the GOP has abandoned its conservative policies. Recently, amid the discussions surrounding the "fiscal cliff", there is an apparent tendency with GOP representatives to bend to the wishes of the White House, with hardly an argument.

What is the answer? What can conservatives do to make themselves heard in a party that is ever more moderate? Answer: Not much, evidently! So, it's party time for conservatives in America!

A growing number of Tea Party Nation members are calling for the formation of a third political party, no matter the cost...no matter the consequence. We say that while we don't know what we'll get from such a move, we certainly know what we've had over the last two-and-a-half decades.

Even if it means the eventual demise of the GOP, the time for the formation of the Tea Party as a true political party in America has come!

...Sarah Palin and Allen West, Cruz, Cuccinelli, Martinez...
Although I like these people, with the exception of Mr. West, they are not leaders, they are rock stars and we already have too many. That said, I would support a third party but the trick will be to avoid the traps the other "third" parties have fallen into. All the big money in the Dem/Rep parties attracts the credible candidates and the "off the wall" candidates end up with the third parties. Not sure how that can be prevented.

TEA Party for me now. Get your house in order GOP and maybe I’ll come back, maybe. But if you can’t even field a candidate and beat someone like hussein, with his obvious flaws and vulnerabilities on literally every issue... Then you, GOP, are either completely incompetent and or in bed with the rats. I’m done with you until you prove otherwise.

More better we work to remake the GOP than to hand the Dems/Marxists/anti-colonialists the entire country.

Never again. Dole. McCain. Romney. The GOP is dead to me.

Remake the GOP, where have I heard that before? The GOP won’t stop selling their big tent, they will lose again, so why not start a 3rd party now? Screw you people who claim suicide...we are already dead in case no one told you!

We need to take a lesson from the Communist party. How many people actually thought that the democrat party could be so completely taken over as it has been?

The real problem lies in trying to compete with ‘FREE’ stuff which is resulting in the collapse of the entire system. Then we (Americans) will beg to be rebuilt by anyone offering more ‘FREE’ stuff, regardless the price.

I believe there are conservatives on both sides of the aisle waiting for true leadership. Lose “Tea Party” as that name has been derided by the lefties and taken over by undesirable elements of the right and in my opinion is not treated with proper respect by the media et al.

Simply call it the “Conservative Party”. By doing so conservatives of all stripes will join. Names have meaning.

How does one register as a Conservative?

For some time I have said we need to throw ALL of the incumbents out and replace them with non-politicians. The problem is that once they are in office, they see how much money they can make and how much power they can get, and they soon become politicians. I have suggested to the Tea Party Patriots that they write a contract and have ALL people running for office sign it. It would state things like:

I will either introduce a bill, or vote for an existing bill that states the following:
(1) Each member of congress will serve a maximum of twelve years.
(2) Earmarks will be ended.
(3) Each bill will be voted on in the order it is introduced. It can be voted to delay the vote for later.
(4) Each bill will be voted on without any amendments added. The only one who can change the bill is/are the one/ones who introduced it. (This would end pork barrel amendments)
(5) The government will be funded by the numbers. Each agency, department, etc., will be given a number rating and funded from #1 down. The military will be the only #1.
(6) I will vote for the Fair Tax. (It has been introduced into the house and senate, but neither leader wants it, so they aren’t putting it our for a vote. One person in the house and one person in the senate decide if a bill is voted on. If you haven’t read about it, it voids ALL federal taxes and replaces them with a federal sales tax. You pay your taxes when you buy something. The rich pay more, because they buy higher priced goods. The illegals will pay it when they buy stuff. It won’t change the price of goods. What you pay $100 for before the Fair Tax is enacted, you will pay $100 for after it is enacted. http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer)

Others can be added. At the bottom it will say something like:

If I fail to do the above by ??-??-????, this will be my resignation, effective on that date.

If they don’t do as promised, they are out.

If you agree that this is a good way to get change in congress, contact the Tea Party Patriots and your local tea parties to write a contract for ALL politicians to sign before they run for office. This could also be done for state elections.

Start Grass Roots—the House—state houses—city councils etc.. We have only two years to go before the congressional races. The Party Needs to be established NOW! Best bet is to drain away the best of the GOP Conservatives and publish an agenda. It will be a lightning rod of hate and anger from both established parties—as was the Tea Party. BUT it must offer something new and refreshing. Our Liberal Progressives will do our work for us by ramming things down the throats of the People. When things go south-—the Tea Party can come out of the shadows and win. BUT we must have brains and money on our side.

I do not believe the Republican party can be saved.

Not with people like McCain, Graham , and others running it.

Boehner is as useless as teats on a boar hog, He has been Speaker for a couple of years now and Nancy Pelosi is still running the House.

I am not leaving the Republican party , it has left me.

just taken for granted and told they have nowhere else to vote

“Really? Oh then we won the 2012 election.. It must have been a dream I had... I could have sworn that The leftist Marxist Obama won... There were allot of conservatives voting for Obama!!!”

Or not voting at all. Too bad we didn’t run a conservative candidate...

The argument is getting a tremendous boost with the news that Speaker Boehner is purging fiscally sane folks (real conservatives) from the financial committees in the House.

My question for the past 2 years has been, is Boehner, incompetent or on the other side? Boehner is now answering that question.

And the RINO's are committing political suicide. The only question is, can the GOP be taken over by the Tea Party or does the Tea Party need push down the rotten door of the GOP and send it to the Whig heaven for failed political parties?

This is STUPID!!!!! What is wrong with those here on FR who believe they can create a perfect, pure political party with sufficient numbers to ever win anything?

We already have about 40 "third parties", isn't that enough? If you can't make anyone of these work, another one certainly isn't going to do it.

Stop and think!!!!

You have to be kidding. How do you propose to create a perfect party that can defeat the Democrat. Hey, if you have a viable plan, I’ll follow.

This is pure political suicide.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over the same way and expecting a different result.

That is exactly what you are saying.

“We are going to fix the party...We are going to fix the party...We are going to fix the party...We are going to fix the party...We are going to fix the party...We are going to fix the party!

Take it for what it is but YOU AREN’T GOING TO FIX THE PARTY! It’s so corrupted by the elite within the system that there is no possibility of fixing it or having it grow some cajones. The lifers within the party are so far “in bed” with their cronies and special interests that it will never change. Each member of Congress is in it for themselves and the enriched lifestyle that comes with it. They could care less about the “little people.”

With each passing year the same mantra appears “we will fix the party.” With each passing year the Republicans lose more and more disenfranchised voters from their system and with each passing year they lose more and more elections.

“New blood” that comes to the party is either quashed by the elite or becomes corrupted by the system so that within a year or two, there is no “new blood” left in the party.

It’s time to go.......get them out of power and replace it with a party THAT FEARS THE VOTERS and will do their bidding.

Sorry, I’m not in the perfection business. As is painfully obvious though, is that the GOP is about as viable as the Whigs so some sort of conservative/constitutional/libertarian/traditional party will have to be invented if we’re going to have a chance to save this country without bloodshed. Frankly I’m not optimistic but when/if the shooting starts, I’d rather be on our side.

You can see why the GOP ignores it’s base. The rank-n-file will eat whatever they serve them.

Can't you just imagine this was the scene with Obama and his Commie staff after stealing the election through voter fraud- while Conservatives blame Romney, argue, point fingers, blather on about forming a 'new party', who to run in 2016, and try to figure out how to suck up to minorities the 'next time'?

It hasn’t worked trying to fix the GOP. Some of our own tea party candidates have failed. Your point as the article said is one view, but the fact is that it has gotten even harder to fix the GOP as the establishment has doubled down and made it worse. It is not political suicide to me to try a new strategy. It is suicide to stay with the people who are doing nothing to save the country and that is the republicans establishment. The GOP could be fighting the fraud in the election, but they don’t even acknowledge it. Some fighters they are.
