The Party of Reagan is dead: Long live the Party of Liberty

As we approached the 40thanniversary of the moon landings four years ago, there was a renewed interest in the space program. Not the current space program, but the space program of the 60’s that put Americans on the moon. Obama killed the current space program, so all we can do now is look back with nostalgia at our glory days.

The Republican Party is the same way. Every year, almost every local Republican Party has a Reagan day dinner. Republicans remember the glory days when they ran Washington.

The Republican rank and file is much like the average American. They are now looking back at the good old days with nostalgia while the current Republican leadership destroys the Party.

The Party of Reagan is dead. Long live the Party of Liberty.

Why is the Party of Reagan dead?

It is dead because it is infested by a bunch of professional politicians who are more interested in keeping the power that they have, even if it is second-tier power.

It is dead because all of the old time RINOs brag about ‘being there with Ronnie’ in the early days, but can’t seem to remember that the country they are supposed to be serving needs Ronnie-like action instead of BS appeasement to a bunch of liberals whose ONLY goal is complete power - power over our lives, our thoughts, our fortunes, and the minds of our children.

Yes, some of the RINOs were there, but they were there only for the power, and they didn’t and still don’t have a clue about what real America means. They mean only to try and keep their waning power.

I have these people called the Campaign for Liberty that keep calling the house.

from what i understand, they are Paulistinians. Any political movement with the name “Liberty” in it gives me the hives.

I’m not going off to another party. I’m going to primary both of my Senators for a start. They are actually worse than some Democrats.

Dead and needs to be buried because it is really starting to stink real bad.

I, for one will never vote for a Republican for federal office. Locally, maybe. Just like in Mississippi and other southern states, locally they were still Democrats but for federal office, they voted Republican, UNTIL the coming of Broncho Bahama.

It’s time to start from scratch. Perhaps it is too late and the left may have won. They may have achieved what their goal of transforming American from a Constitutional Republic to a socialist hellhole. But one thing is certain; the Republican Party is no longer the Party of Ronald Reagan, small government or conservatism.

I don't know about the first sentence here. Third party only gives us what we don't want, but the rest is exactly right. With every passing day I'm more convinced it's too late. The latest trial balloon I'm hearing on the local news is that Hillary is thinking of running for mayor of NYC. She'd win without breaking a sweat since NY is a 1 party state. From there she'll use it to get her executive credentials and be able to make a serious run in 2016.

Sadly, I don't think she could be any worse than the current pretender.

It died because of the nature of many humans who wish to live off the largess of others.

It has been the dream of "progressives" for a hundred years that they be in the position of a perpetual majority voting block. They have finally gotten there thru the "new deal" the "great society" et al.

The famous 47% obviously is more like 53%....they are sitting out there like a big steaming pile of dog poop and they will vote EVERY TIME in federal elections for the politician who promises them the most free stuff.

There is no mystery in my mind why the party of Reagan died...the majority of the voters who vote are natural free-loaders. Self reliance, honor and dignity are not in their DNA....they have a powerful ally in the democrat party.

I am really coming around to the idea that there is no way to save the GOP in federal elections....except to infiltrate the Democrat party with the goal of moving it to the right?

The bought-and-paid-for disruptors on FR who have sold their souls to the GOP-E are a little late today. They should be here soon to mewl, "We can't leave the GOP. That would give all power to the Democrats."

I got a news flash for you. There ain't a dimes worth of difference between the Dems and the Pubs.

I don’t know if we have a choice. Mr. Boehner is kicking us out of the party. They don’t want us in their party. They want a cool base like the democrats. They are sick of us.

Last night’s moves by Bonehead were symbolic of why the GOP has to go.

Today I read where Bonehead is proposing cutting social security inflation increases (which was done a few years ago btw) and raising the medicare age. I though that was exactly the opposite of what the national candidate proposed doing. In otherwords, exactly what the dems said they would do if Romney got elected. Compound that with removing conservatives from financial committees and what message does that send.

We need new leadership and there will not be any new leadership till after 2014 at the earliest. This bunch has been flanked by his excellency on every issue every day. I am tired of it. I’d rather see Gingrich back as speaker than watch Bonehead pee in his pants everytime his excellency tells him what he is going to do.

Can't you just imagine this was the scene with Obama and his Commie staff after stealing the election through voter fraud- while Conservatives blame Romney, argue, point fingers, blather on about 'starting a new party', who to run in 2016, and try to figure out how to suck up to minorities the 'next time'?
