The controversial budget proposal submitted by House Republican leadership, and summarily rejected by the White House, was never presented to the GOP caucus in the house, according to Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX).
"The caucus was not consulted on the proposal, I wish we had been," Gohmert told Breitbart News on Capitol Hill this morning. "The Republican members were not consulted on the offer made. We are having the legislation being formulated among the Speaker, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and the President. Republicans in Congress have some great ideas and principles, but those are not being utilized in the proposals."
Speaker John Boehner's proposal, which included $800B in new tax revenues, was openly criticized today by Sen. Jim Demint as an "800B tax hike [that would] destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more." With the latest revelation that the unpopular proposal was delivered without the GOP caucus even knowing what was being presented in their name, pressure is sure to mount on the speaker as the fiscal cliff negotiations continue.
Breitbart News reached out to the Speaker's office for comment and as of the time of this writing they have not responded.

Am I out of line in wondering if blackmail has gotten to him
This action by Boehner makes me more certain his RINO loyalties are to the other side.
He, and his RINO team are agents of the Left IMO whose purpose is presenting an illusion of a two party system when in reality the Left has consumed the GOP leadership positions as they did the entire of the Democrat Party. This would be why the purge of the TEA Party Conservatives from the committees recently as well.
Either the RINO’s are stealth agents of the Left, or they have been bought off. Regardless they aren’t to be trusted as our leaders at all. Boehner, and his team of RINO’s are, or should be toast.
Seems to me congratulations are in order to the TEA Party members who held to their principles, and forced the Leftist leadership to direct their RINO leadership to have to go to the extreme action of purging them from those committees to prevent them from inhibiting their progress thus exposing whom they actually are.
We don’t need/want the lone ranger. We want a new Speaker.
I don't understand how any - ANY - Republican house member could trust the guy any farther than they could throw him and the excrescense fused to his lips.* OTOH, what happened to Col. West in Florida shows that Boehner has enough fellow losers in the GOP to be anything but an island.
Mr. niteowl77
*Barack Obama's ass.
No one in the House cares - and plans should
be made NOW to replace them for good.
They obey Boehner.
They obey Obama.
They follow al Qaeda and the Moslem Brotherhood
and the Marxist coup d’etat against America
and the US Constitution.
Of course you are right.
I ask Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). where the fudge were you when this crybaby loser was elected to the Speaker’s chair.
Where was the rest of the GOP leadership?
How come you guys are not up on that hill screaming like raped apes?
Fact is Nancy Pelosi is still running the House even though Boehner is in the Chair.
Damn straight!
Last year around Christmas?? Are you talking about the FICA tax cut feasco or something else?
If I thought he was just trying to stick Obama at the end with no deal then making an (public) offer like this that O refuses could be smart. But who can trust Bohner?
I DO NOT WANT ANY DEAL!
Right there with you. after this past weeke’s shenanigans, he AND Cantor can step off. I’m so angry right now...betrayal does not sit well with me.
Speaker Boehner bows to pressure on tax deal
This time, there was no discussion. This time, House Speaker John Boehner didnt take the chance of losing another deal to a caucus with a tendency to self-immolate.
And so when Boehner delivered the news that he had struck a deal on a Thursday afternoon conference call with House Republicans, the technology was in place to prevent rank-and-file lawmakers from voicing the kind of angry dissent that scuttled a Senate-passed payroll bill on Saturday. The five-day drama that exposed both the political naiveté of the freshman-heavy Republican Conference and the sharp limits of Boehners power over them ended in silence.
At no small personal political risk, Boehner laid down the law to his unruly caucus, substituting his own judgment for their collective wisdom in cutting a very slightly altered deal with President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Speakers decision, Rep. Jeb Hensarling, the fourth-ranking House Republican, said in introducing Boehner on the call.

However, early reaction from rank-and-file Republicans reflected dissension in the ranks once again. One Republican member told Fox News, "I'm thinking of objecting myself. We were hung out by leadership."
But then they didn't do a damned thing about it after he rammed it through, and so here he is doing it again.
And remember one of Boehner's biggest complaints ever since the 2010 elections is that because the House Conservatives won't give him a blank check so that he can "negotiate" with Obama privately.
By the time they did their short term extension cave on FICA that you reference NO house member wanted to continue that fight anymore, because their constituents/voters were screaming at them in emails and phone calls demanding to know why they were raising middle class taxes.
And the final extension in February was passed in almost secret by the House, they wanted that whole thing to be over,
The House Republicans really backed themselves in a corner on that one making O look like the champion of middle class tax cuts and themselves as only caring about the ones for the rich. (and they are risking that again now)
Yes I understand there was a real issue there on FICA/SS to be debated but House Rs had really no way of winning it then. To win an argument on ‘FICA tax cuts must be paid for and not by tax cuts for the rich’ would have taken many months of intensive PR prep work with voters and none of that was done. Instead they just marched off the cliff
That's the issue at stake here now, Boehner's retalation against Conservatives and trying to remove any obstacles (via the ongoing purge) to giving away the farm to Obama.
I am on your team on that one bud,
I posted a vanity here cursing Bohner when he passed the Budget control Act exactly that way last year, exactly like Pelosi.
