Vatican to begin tracking clergy and employees with RFID cards

We have learned today that the Vatican has decided to use an ID card that has a micro-chip device embedded inside the card that is capable of being used as a tracking device. This card will be given to clergy and employees. A source inside the Vatican acknowledged that they have been thinking about this for years, but declined to give any details of the discussions. The common name for such devices is RFID or Radio Frequency Identification devices.

The issuance of these devices will probably take place on or about Jan. 1, 2013. The Vatican sees the need for the tracking cards because of the conviction of a person for stealing the pontiff's private documents and leaking them to an Italian journalist in an “embarrassing security breach that rocked the Vatican earlier this year,” according to The Telegraph.

Of course, the ID/Tracking Card that the Vatican plans to implement does not (necessarily) mean that this device is actually the “mark of the beast”, and certainly is not the number 666, but is does signify that the Vatican has taken a new track in the way of thinking for the Catholic Church. In other words, they are willing to take a chance on new devices that are questionable when it comes to the warnings of biblical prophecy.

You can get porn on your computer without even trying.

Here, just curious if more people than I get this.

Try (no quotes) redneck trucker.

There is a band by that name, which features the usual rural, country themed stuff you would expect, but I also got a pic of a fellow on the floor showing what only a dog should show. You’d think Google would get the hint about porn-rich sites and block them from normal searches (they have full porn options if one is really, truly curious).

I took Chrome browsers off my machines (note their “rainbow” logo and what you do with your cursor) and use other search engines like Bing, Yahoo, etc

Google is like the 500,000 lb. gorilla. Refusing what it really wants is difficult.

I don’t read too much into the multicolored Chrome logo. It could equally well be an oblique stylistic riff on Windows, which has long had multicolored panes. However my browser is Firefox.

Agree on gorilla.

Running FF also, for years. First impression of the Chrome logo for me was it was like a camera’s iris, eye, or space portal to WWW.

Bedtime for me. Catch you on the next thread. Goodnight!

Great! Vatican and RFID. Can we put any more “pre-Trib” buzzwords in there, like maybe “anti-Christ” or “New World Order”, and really heat up this thread? < /sarc >

Sheesh. I’m surprised this hasn’t turned into an outright Catholic bash fest already.
