Why is it so critical Egypt get these weapons this year? I wonder what role defense industry lobbyists are playing in this transfer.
No million man marches in the streets of Europe if Obammy does the same things as the “Bushcheneyhaliburtonmonsters”.
It doesn’t matter how many tanks Egypt has or what sort they are.
They still have to cross the Sinai in a large group to matter and a few tiny neutron weapons kills their crews and makes the tanks spoils of war for Israel.
Israel won’t let them build up a tank force on the border by adding a few tanks at a time...that violates the treaty Egypt signed to regain the Sinai.
Egyptians flying F16s would be a poor match for Israelis in their F16s. They would soon become expensive debris. After a few were downed the rest would be hidden as best they could manage.
The main thing is that Egyptian brains are no match at all for Israeli brains ;-)

Curious story and suspect on its face. Egypt has a license to manufacture its own M1 Abrams. To date they’ve made at least 700 by themselves. The important thing they don’t have is run-and-shoot fire control. Could be they’re going to receive some of our leftover Iraq stock since our guys don’t want to spend the bucks to ship the stuff back here. The Egypt version is diesel. I can’t see them even wanting to take on maintenance of the gas turbine model. And just where is that Arab gas turbine school?
And Sen. Tom Coburn says we need to cut Soc and Medicare from the old folks in the US? Go figure?
And Congress?
