It is not over yet. This will be followed by the 3rd nuclear test some time in this winter, which may well be successful.

If they can put a satellite into a tricky polar orbit then they are close to having the ability to target any place on the face of the earth. Reentry giudance is all they need.

Partial re-entry at that because with a nuke they could EMP us...

Ok, this will sound crazy but...

And no reason not to...

No re entry required. Detonate a nuke 250 miles above Omaha and 90% of the US population would be dead in a few months. As per Dr. Graham, Chair of the 2008 EMP Commission Report to Congress.

Yeah, but let's just say the Russians launched an EMP or other thermo-nuke attack by proxy on us which made it look like the North Koreans did it, putting US politicians in the position to have to massively retaliate, completely shattering the US economy and setting the world stage for the whimpering end of the United States as a world power while the actual belligerents sat back and watched.
Yeah, I think Barack Hussein Obama could handle that 0400 phone call. Don't you? Maybe we should ask Ambassador Stevens. Mr. Ambassador? Hello?

and setting the world stage for the whimpering end of the United States as a world power
You are a little bit late in your statement. The world stage was set in 2008 and the act that ended our “world power” status happened in November 2012.
Now, the world simply laughs as us for they know the chief communist of the united states will do nothing more than tell more lies, obfuscate, defy the Constitution and any/and all things to bring the U.S. further down to it’s knees before his communist friends.
We have become the laughing stock of the world. We have finally done it to ourselves for now we have a Politically Correct affirmative action president that has a secret past and is a raving communist.

One EMP pulse would be a dream come true for Obama if he knew in advance and the FedGov had hardened its systems in advance. Think of the hardship and privation, the mass die offs and the end of the US as we know it to be rebuilt by Obama as a New Amerika.

All who put Obama into office.
And the tyrants will come out to play.

Now can we stop ignoring this threat?
Now.

I for one welcome EMP’s over every continent. One big reset button. My fear is our dear Muslim in Chief will not retaliate with EMP’s but do nothing and open us up to invasion of sorts.
A world without tv, radio, and mass transit for 6 months would be a blessing in disguise. After the weed out period of liberals and others not prepared we would come back stronger and smarter.

"Who would die off? Dems. Dem city low-life voters. All who put Obama into office."
Doesn't matter. The useful idiots would have served their purpose.
"And the tyrants will come out to play."
Indeed they would and Obama would be betting that his surviving Federal forces would install him as Maximum Leader for Life. Others would have different ideas and the results would be settled with blood and steel, not elections.

Does the orbit of the object cross the North American continent? If so, it may well be an EMP device purchased from Paki or the Russkis.
Shoot it down, now.
