This is only one of many reasons I try never to step foot into that state.
Only the religion of Statism is allowed in public schools.
They are right, the word of God is very powerful. Interesting that they are so frightened by it.
Isn’t having the “messiah” and Jamie Foxx’s “lord and savior in the White House a violation of the separation of church and state? That bass turd Obama is “unconstitutional”. Singing songs praising Obama in public schools is an OUTRAGE!
Should have given him a Koran verse and a Koran. Would have been okay.
Who knew Phillipsburg was full of anal Leftists. I bet these scumbags would have no problem permitting Satanic text.
Time that the citizens/taxpayers of Phillipsburg fought back and destroyed that school board.
Take no prisoners. Hire people who have common sense and believe in America.
And there were plenty of Town Meetings held in the local church....way back then...before everyone got hot about Jefferson and his separation of church and state "concept".
Reminds me of the idiot atheist on Varney on fox business (I think it was today or yesterday); when asked if had every made the same kind of protest against islam he just sat there, hummanahummuna like jackie gleason - big pause. The other guest was a Dem establishment woman - even she was laughing with Varney at the idiot.
Athiests go all off on religion - just Christianity - no other religion.
What idiots.
Truthfully, these have been the ground rules for thirty or more years, and this teacher showed very poor judgment in doing what they did.
Way back when I knew a very religious and scholarly high school teacher who was the soul of diplomacy to get permission to teach a “The Bible as Literature” class. His classes were filled with several denominations of Christians, as well as Jews, Mormons and some secular students that were respectful of religion.
He had to begin each semester with an extensive and complex disclaimer, and was always solicitous of the views and feelings of his pupils. Again, diplomacy won the day, offended no one, and produced a superb and intelligent class, far beyond what can typically be found in high school.
And he and his students were able to do this because they followed the rules. And within the rules they were able to do a lot more than they could by skirting the rules.
the left “shares” their environmental religion with my children every freaking day!!!!!
Since when is the BIBLE not considered a book available in most libraries? Give her the book for her personal library. It is a teaher’s job to encourage kids to read so what is the problem with these people.
It’s not like she was giving the child a copy of LADY CHATTERLY’S LOVER or CANDY. (Dang! That just revealed my age!)
How about if we let parents and not public school teachers give children Bibles or other religious texts?
I doubt anyone here would want a public school teacher giving their children a religious book that is not in accordance with their belief.
The teacher should be fired.
Terrible terrible mistake. He should have found a young pregnant student and driven her across state lines to get an abortion. They would have hired him full-time.
Separate school and state, before it is too late.
This is the education complex at work. Our taxes built them, and we are going to have to reign them in.Soon.
A little over fifty years ago, we used to read the 23rd Psalm at the beginning of class. It was an honor to be chosen to read it, or another selection the teacher chose, in public school.
How far have we fallen. When do we say, “Enough!”?
This is exactly what troubled, mentally, morally and ethically challenged young people need to deepen their ability to analyse and uderstand issues and decisions facing them in life.
It’s not only because the truth shared by the teacher is in the Bible. It is that the teacher cared enough to lead the kid to some knowledge of truth and ethics.
If there is one Biblical truth that could be shared with American children it is “treat others the way you want to be treated” as an understanding to stop bullying and other ethical challenges we see among the young. They need to get in touch with the full depth of the damage caused by attacking (stealing, lying, and generally being mean) to others. Character.
