WASHINGTON—US police have foiled a plot to kill teen pop idol Justin Bieber and possibly castrate him with pruning shears, with the alleged killer promised $2,500 per testicle, legal documents revealed Thursday.

Mark Staake, 41, and his nephew, Tanner Ruane, were arrested in Vermont and New York last month and face charges in New Mexico of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The pair were allegedly plotting to strangle two victims and castrate them with pruning shears, but a convicted killer who is serving life in prison told police that the “ultimate” target was Bieber, who was performing in New York.

The story referred to him as a pop idol so I assume he must be a singer or actor?

Is this Justin character important enough to bother googling to find out who he is?

Pity. It would make for a good reality show on HBO.

Just looking at the kid gives me the creeps. I guess androgynous men appeal to immature teen girls. He certainly does not give the appearance of being threatening. I haven’t heard his singing, nor will I.

However, this sort of a response is kind of frightening. Put together with the kid who shot up the Portland mall and other signs of cultural decay, role models are degenerate certainly and no longer American. To quote Mark Twain, “They are French”.

So it's OK if their name is George, but not Justin.

Liberal laws...... only for little people.

He’s got a twinkie little demeanor but the girls love him. Sort of like a Davy Jones. That said he visits kids in hospices and hospitals. A lot.

All I know is a while back on the Big Hollywood site, it was reported that he appeared on some tv show which had some sort of anti-conservative message and he basically said he didn’t care about American politics because he was Canadian. That’s all I need to know.

I, actually, read somewhere that Justin Bieber is pro-life and a conservative (from Conservapedia). He, often, visits hospitals and charity groups, too!

He's the teeny-bopper pop idol equivalent of a Precious Moments figurine. There's just something about the "look" that really grates on people. Especially because there's the sense that there's no escape from the cutsie, precious little dweeb.

Then let's not be too hard on him. We need all the help we can get with the young female demographic.

Nah, he’s only a second rate YouTube sensation, way behind the number 1 YouTube sensation.
