The guy who was throwing the punches should have been put down swiftly.

And how would you have handled the rest of the crowd who were cheering on the thug, obviously waiting for an excuse and opportunity to join in?....

Discretion is the better part of valor....

Needs to file criminal conspiracy charges and civil suits against the union who sent the attacker there.

Nice neighborhood. Nice home. Those poor abused union workers are so under-paid.

I think Crowder is a black belt and had an offer out to not prosecute if the little cowardly Union thug would get in a ring with him.

I guess the cowardly union thug chose not to fight when not surrounded by a mob.

I worked as a chemist at a company that had OCAW workers. When strikes happened, they would shoot ball bearings from slingshots at us, and drop bowling balls onto our cars from the bridge over our parking lot. Nothing ever happened to them, even when we had them on video.

-——Nothing ever happened to them,——

You didn’t fix a date to the problem, but I am of the opinion that the current anti terrorist law applies to such action above and beyond normal assault and vandalism laws.

The UMWA terrorists wore uniforms, deer hunting camos, to promote solidarity. They involved their wives and mothers and children. They even coerced local Catholic nuns to engage the companies and general population. Ron Flyn came down from Boston to bless their strike activities. That is the Trumka heritage. His life should be forfeit.

Many here were pounding on the police for not doing anything. Well, no complaint had been filed. Now it has. Let us see what happens...

The police are pro-union. They will do nothing.

One punch in the face is misdemeanor assault at best. Probably a fine.

I asked the same question about the unions here in Illinois. My council explained that unions in our state (Ill), and our state legislature are exempted from RICO as is our nations House and Senate, and city councils, etc.

Also he explained that various charities have been exempted, such as the Red Cross. He did not elaborate an any others, he just mentioned that one.

Nationally, I don’t know, but here in our state, we could not use RICO laws to go after unions. Not that it would matter, our States Attorney (Lisa Madigan) is the daughter of the Dem Speaker of the House (Michael Madigan), so there would be no follow up in any event.

Lawsuits against unions or union members go no where in Illinois. The States Attorney would never file charges, and it would be very slim a judge would hear the case. If they did, you would most likely be found liable for the unions court costs and sent packing.

I would think that RICO laws are federal, but that’s how it was explained to me.

BTW, we closed our family shop about a year ago because of union buffoonery.

Thanks for the information about the exemption for unions.

It is not surprising that institutions of the left would be exempted and institutions despised by the left would be targets. Is the NRA next? The Tea Party? Certainly, there was no disposition anywhere to police the Occupy Movement much less apply RICO. If reports were true that the occupy movement was the product of the White House, a RICO action would have been interesting.

Your insights into the state of the rule of law in Illinois is illuminating. When the rule of law goes, civil society cannot be far behind.
