Anything semi-automatic regardless of caliber.

Good afternoon.

Define assault weapons.

Assault weapons: any instrument a human being can use to harm another human being. "He assaulted me." Canons and tanks are darn good "assault weapons." So are axes and arrows. Not as good as muskets (unless properly deployed and employed).

Heck, a semiautomatic .50 cal can ruin your day.

But the best "assault weapon," is a K-bar up close and personal.

Did I mention aircraft? There's a great definition of "assault weapons."

5.56mm

Well, there goes my Brown Bess Musket with the bayonet. It was an assault weapon of choice for almost two hundred years.

Will Oblamo include abortion instruments in his ban of *assault weapons*? Nah...didn’t think so. (Because it’s not really about protecting innocents.)

Don’t let Libs like Obama define the language! I have a feeling if Obama and the Commie party get their way anything more powerfull than a BB gun will be an assault weapon.

Define assault weapons.

Any weapon our Marxist overlords deem a threat to their absolute power.

A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.

Lenin (1870-1924) “The Beginning of the Revolution in Russia”

To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave
them.

George Mason (1725-1792)
Elliot, Debates at 380

When the Cambrian measures were forming,
They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave Them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us, and delivered us, bound, to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)
The Gods of the Copy Book Headings, 5th Stanza, 1919

Obama doesn’t have to run again - let’s see what we hear from the Dem leaders (hint: crickets).

The response to this incident is very predictable. In all western countries where private gun ownership has been effectively banned, there has always been some sort of tragedy like this which anti-gun politicians have used to manipulate public opinion. As terrible as this crime was, the left will do all it can to push gun-control. Supporters of the 2nd Amendment will have to get prepared for an intense and protracted effort to deprives us of our Constitutional rights.

Assault weapon - any gun that scares a politician.

“Assault rifles”?

Under their definition, a Ruger 10-22 would be an assault rifle. And a Browning Buckmark .22 pistol would be an assault weapon.
I have a good prima facie, categorical definition from `Guns’ magazine that I’ve posted before, if you want to see it.
Off the top of my head, an “assault rifle” uses: an intermediate power round, larger than a submachine gun, but smaller than a rifle round, so the Ruger and Browning are off the list; a detachable magazine—there go most semi-auto hunting rifles; and, most importantly, it must be capable of fully automatic fire.
The gun grabbers don’t like that definition because “assault rifles” are already regulated.

(OK, get ready—here comes the rhetoric)

`Gun control’ is the third rail for politicians. Like the king of England and his house of lords, the Beltway crowd and their boy king can do whatever they want, and the People will follow or they won’t.
When the latter occurs, on at least one occasion—specifically about 400 years ago—it cost one king his head. Notice that even Dingy Harry is keeping his powder fairly dry here?
But if they are going to throw around terms like “assault rifles,” and banning them, we are going to have to demand that they define their terms.
And that before Boner the Weepy and the GOP-e start accepting promises and statements like, “We have to pass it so we can see what’s in it!” and assurances that the bill will be thoroughly debated on CNN and that the golfer-in-chief will veto certain portions, and so forth and so on, since this president and his cronies lie in their sleep.

Otherwise they should be told to pound sand unless they actually stop killing babies. Then we agree to put some kind of gun legislation on the table. For example, I have no use for a 20MM Vulcan; I am amenable to some sort of action on limiting the sale of electric chain Gatling guns to felons, young black men resembling Obama, and young white men who demonstrate to the world that they are `Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs’ ... and all Democrats.

We aren’t completely unreasonable. There it is, best offer.

Scary looking gun.

Then again, it depends who thinks it’s scary looking, doesn’t it? “Call me Senator” Barbara Boxer actually had her staff go through Gun Catalogs to gather a listing of Guns that were put on the original Clinton era Assault Weapon Ban list.

If it looked scary to her Liberal effeminate staff members, it was an Assault Weapon.

I think Obama is scary looking, can we ban him?

Assault Weapon: Any device, or picture of said device, which is designed to propel a bullet from itself.
