The "high earners" are high earners because they don't spend every cent they come by on Escalades and bling.
The "high earners" invest their money and create SUSTAINABLE JOBS for other people.
Government does not create sustainable jobs, because government does not do anything at a profit.
Only companies that earn profit pay taxes and pay wages to employees who pay taxes on their wages.
Without investment, there is no profit, and without profit there are no taxes or jobs.

Doesn’t really matter whether Boehner offers anything or not. Taxes are going up. Nothing the Republicans can do will stop it.

“The “high earners” invest their money and create SUSTAINABLE JOBS for other people. “
And when they have to get more taxes for the government they draw it from their least productive investments- hurting poorer, younger, abd less educated workers.
The very people who elect the Democrats.

He’s getting #%*$ed. He’s giving in on tax hikes for the wealthy to prevent tax hikes on the middle class and defense cuts come January 1. It sucks. It makes Dems feel good but doesn’t help the country one bit.

Government does not create sustainable jobs, because government does not do anything at a profit.
This is not only a war on the "rich" as it is also a war on profit. Over the years I have read and heard more and more "news" folk decry profits in the essential/necessary industries like health insurance, oil and gas, food, hospitals, and all medical professions.
THE LEFT WANTS THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM REPLACED BY A SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT SPREADING THE WEALTH AROUND, MAKING THE BUSINESSES WORK TO JUST COVER THEIR COST, AND WILL USE FACIST TECHNIQUES TO ACCOPLISH THEIR WET DREAM. I know you have heard the WH joker talk about "now is not the time to be making profits, but rather provide jobs by employing more people" (as if that was the only task of a corporation).
It is way past time Americans turn off their TVs and iPads and start to quash these beliefs instilled in their brains full of mush by the corrupted education/propaganda system America has adopted through public service unions, and their media brethren, before a tipping point is reached - if it hasn't already. By the looks of Nov 6, 2012 IMHO we are over the culture rot cliff.

Boehner is like the cheerleader who craves the attention and status of dating the team captain. Boehner wants to make out with Obama so bad he doesn’t even know he’s about to get screwed silly.
It will be hilarious when Obama dumps him. Poor little Boehner will have given away all his leverage. Pout pout.
Problem is we have to pick up the tab for this ditz.

people....who the hell cares about defending the millionaires?.....this is not a winning issue and don't feel so bad for the millionaires...they seem to find ways to avoid taxes....
pubs should be for the working class...for the middle income.....why are we always painted as the evil party of the rich, when we absolutely are not.....
we should not fall on our sword for this issue...

Anything less than going over the fiscal cliff (only way I see spending cuts happening) should be met with civil war. The problem is those on the right won’t do it. It is always easier to say it than to do it. We will just proceed to give up more of our freedoms and earned wealth. But hey, so many will boast that they will do something this time. Bah!

Actually a surprisingly shrewd move in my view, and I’m not a fan of Boehner at all. But he can toss this out there, and it’s purely for rhetorical/political purposes. The problem is supposedly that Repub’s are holding up everything in order to protect the rich. So Boehner says “OK, but $250K ain’t rich, $1 mil is”.
But anyone making a mil a year can easily shift around their income so as to be completely unaffected by a relatively small change in their tax rate. Nobody’s going to pay a lot more in taxes because of this, and that’s why Obama won’t accept it. But if Obama starts whining that “this will hardly help with the budget at all,” Boehner gets to laugh in his face and say, “neither does raising it on 250K and above”.
But if it ends up being just prelude to caving all the way to 250K, then it’s still a loser though, and knowing Boehner, I have to think that might be a likely scenario.

Boehner is doing “WeekEnd at Bernies”..
