There have been school shootings before but this one was particularly painful to learn about.
In the first place the children were so young and innocent -- kindergartners. In the second, it is the season when young children are especially full of happiness. Their homes are filled with Chanukah and Christmas decorations and gifts. Their houses smell of yummy things to eat. Families make a special effort to be together for the holidays.

Now families will come home from the morgue to face their unimaginable losses surrounded by presents still unwrapped, joyful decorations now trimming houses robbed of all joy. Siblings and parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and neighbors stricken with sadness.

I mourn for the teachers and emergency workers who viewed the carnage and certainly will not forget it as long as they live.
No sooner did the news hit the wires than the political prattle about it began. Stop it.
For once, act like human beings. Can the gun talk; hold up on the sociological musings; button your lips on all the usual chatter when horrors occur. Maybe people spend too much time on TV programs where there's a wrapup after half an hour and expect real life to follow that schedule.

In my opinion, this shooting and the election mark the begining of the end for the info biz. Huge swaths of people are starting to tune out all information — Liberal, Moderate or Conservative — because it is overwhelmingly negative. My attitude is, stop holding my coat. I’m a night owl, so I heard FOX Radio news at 3:00 AM this morning.
The “newscaster” said that Lanza shot all the kids in the classroom with a Bushmaster “long gun.” He mentioned that the kids were hit “multiple times,” one kid being shot eleven times.
Twice yesterday, I heard the Bushmaster was locked in the trunk of his car.
Then at 10:00 AM this morning, the reportette on FOX Radio during the 10 AM news break said police were wondering why Lanza’s mother had “an arsenal of high-powered weapons.”
Three firearms is an “arsenal?”
I don’t trust ANY media source, including FOX. I certainly don’t trust Rupert “we must ban all automatic weapons” Murdoch.
And 9mm pistols and a .223 are hardly “high-powered”.
If you count from mid-day on Friday to Sunday morning....there are at least thirty reports from various networks and news groups (including both Fox and CNN, along with the the three letter networks)....which were incorrect.
Yesterday, the CNN crew did a camera swing...showing around forty different vans set-up on some street and various satellite antennas. It looked like a three-ring circus.
Today? The president shows up....with at least fifty Secret Service guys and probably two hundred state police folks. You wouldn’t even be able to drive to any church to park...with all the media and security folks around.
I think if you lived in the town....you’d consider this all a showcase of some sad and tragic sort.

Are the info sources "bending" the facts to serve the narrative?
Still, it strikes me as a little unseemly, and oddly the Dad is one of the few who quickly made himself available to the press. Just doesn’t pass the smell test.
At this point, the MSM are bending facts. They know there has been erroneous information but persist in their narratives without advisories or cautions.

Just another replay of the Benghazi scenario. Just once I would like to hear the press say what happened in a very few words followed by “Additional information will be provided once we have received all the facts and have had sufficient time to verify them” and then shut up.
I absolutely do not know why Obama is going up there today other than for political reasons. I had a child die and know first hand that the only ones you want with you during your time of grief are close friends, family, your minister and God. The parents grief will last for the rest of their lives, so very, very cruel to them for him to exploit this very personal tragedy. There is absolutely nothing he can provide except to increase the chaos which currently exists.
One report said that some people in town are taking down the Christmas lights on their houses.
How can anybody be joyful at this time....
