Middle East expert Walid Phares says this weekend’s vote on a new Egyptian constitution is part of a broader strategy by President Mohammed Morsi to transform the country into a “totalitarian Islamist state” like Iran.

“They forced the referendum on Egyptians without judges, monitors, and under the pressure of their street militias,” explained Phares, an advisor to the anti-Terrorism Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives, said in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.

“That’s what the forces of civil society are seeing today. Egypt is divided between the Islamists and the rest of the country.” …

And it is up to us to wake them up. If that means a metaphoricly bloody civil war on every forum on the net and every town hall/political gathering, so be it.

These people are moreso responsible for our current condition than Obama and the libs. Because without their willful ignorance and active participation in shouting us down/belittling our factual points, we would not BE in this position to begin with.

PERIOD.

Fellow conservative lurkers, I implore you. Unleash the dogs of war. Stop letting these people direct the discussion. Stop empowering them to wreck the remainder of America through inaction. Take charge and shout THEM down. We are beyond the point of ‘civil’ debate. Because they have been anything but civil.

It is just incredible the MSM will not cover this.

Reminds me of what I read about NYT reporter writing “no famine in Georgia” when millions were being starved under Stalin.

That would be Walter Duranty. The American media has a long history of covering for dictators.

Conversely, Morsi learned how to do it from 0bama and Hillary. SHE gave him the go-ahead to declare himself Dictator after their meeting in Gaza. Strange timing, huh?

No. That’s the way liberals look at the situation; they think that increased literacy will eradicate fundamentalist Islam. It does not. A highly-organized group like the Muslim Brotherhood could not get by through having a low literacy rate. In fact, the more people read into the Koran, the more radicalized they get (look at the former Cat Stevens).

I would bet the thirty or forty percent of Egyptians opposed to Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood are far more literate than their opponents. The great percentage of the illiterate Egyptians, like their illiterate counterparts in other Muslim countries, are far more likely to support radical Islam than the more educated Muslims. Like ignorant people everywhere, they’re easily led by demagogues. Like the one we have for president.
