‘What more do we require?’ to stop violence, Rev. Jackson asks
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | December 15, 2012 | JAMES SCALZITTI

Posted on 12/17/2012 9:45:57 AM PST by JustSayNoToNannies

Whether it be a mass casualty shooting at a school or other public space in the United States or the regularly occurring gun violence on the streets of Chicago, “the people who are civilized must care enough to stop it now,” the Rev. Jesse Jackson said on Saturday.

While speaking to the audience at the Rainbow-PUSH headquarters on the South Side, Jackson reflected on Friday’s shooting in Connecticut, as well as the ongoing violence on the streets of Chicago.

Noting that, “It’s easier (in the United States) to buy a gun than a cup of coffee,” Jackson said, “None of us are safe until all of us are safe. These military assault weapons have no place in society.”

“You don’t hunt with semi-automatic weapons,” Jackson said. “These are designed to kill people.”

Jackson wondered aloud how many more senseless acts of gun violence “do we require?” before something is done to stop such events from occurring again.“We are the most violent nation on earth,” he said. “We make the most guns and we shoot them, we make the most bullets and we fire them.”

Tying together the deaths of the children in Connecticut and all the young people who have died from gun violence in Chicago, Jackson said, “the people who are civilized must care enough to stop it now.”

He also mentioned the bill that passed the Michigan legislature on Thursday that would allow those with concealed carry permits to bring guns into schools, churches, and daycare centers. “We’re going to fight that,” Jackson said.

Either the libs don't know what they're talking about, or they're making stuff up and hoping that people have become so stupid that they'll never understand that they're just making stuff up.

After November 6th, I believe we've crossed the Rubicon and have changed into an Idiocracy. I think it's over now. It may take a few more years before the barbarians loot and pillage what's left, but it's over. Go Galt!

Most black politicians favor gun control, not just because they are Democrats, but because it is something that is needed in their communities. Just look at Chicago, they really do have a epidemic of gang violence, and lots of gang involved shootings.

The majority is asked to sacrifice our rights, once again, to make life better for the dysfunctional minority. It’s endless, the concessions, changes, give-backs, surrenders and humiliation that whites are supposed to endure to make black America function better.

I’ve heard that some semi-auto .22s can hold up to 17 hollow points.

No, what he got right was he didn’t call them automatic weapons like those in the media do and what Democrats consider to be “assault rifles.”

Politically incorrect thought exercise: Which would have more impact on reducing crime in America? Removing all guns from society with a tap of the magic wand, or removing all blacks from society with a tap of the magic wand?

since when was there a 7 day waiting period for a cup of coffee?

Heck, from where I sit I can walk 3 steps and get a free cup of coffee.

Where is my free gun?

Jessie is an idiot.

I think you can .22 in depleted uranium too. This helps with penetration in case you have to shoot through cardboard. Lol.

A hollow point .22 might get stuck in the victims clothing.

The Rev can set an example and fire his armed security detail. Oh, and he better register the ‘gun’ between his legs. That’s already ruined a lot of lives.

I shouldn't poke fun. All weapons can be dangerous if used improperly and without proper training, just like vehicles, lawnmowers, weedwackers, hammers and stoves.

My arrogant and condescending comments were to make the point that not all semi-automatic weapons are designed to kill people, as Jesse jASSon suggests.

The left refuses to talk about how easy it is to get a gun illegally. The left knows about that. The left likes it that way, because the “underclass” has the “right” to take what is “rightfully” theirs from the evil “oppressors.”
And so they deliberately and willfully leave guns in the hands of the criminals, while doing all they can to take guns away from honest, law-abiding citizens.

All I can say is, that 10-day waiting period for a no-whip half-caf mocha is a real biyatch...

oh me ,me me I got the answer.

Hvae parents more involved as soon as the kdi is born, talk to the kids, raise them with respect and attention.

No day cares, no nannies, no shrinks giving drugs to rasie them.

Teach them morals, respect ,manners, hard work, if they fall down tell them to get up instead of mamby pamby land, the old band aid and cie on a boo boo no one can see.
Prep them for the real world.

Don;t do that , no parents about most of the time then the kid thinks he can do anything he wants, won;t listen later in life like around 11 and then grows up to be a whack job.

This man only has to look at the black community to see how the new parenting and family is creating.
This man needs to stop promoting the new way of eing a parent and accept it;s better for a child to have a mother and a father, one of each sex.

If Mr. Jackson, Mr. Sharpton, etc. were the men they claim to be... This would be their #1 priority.

I wish our country had the courage to look at such statistics, cut the BS, face facts, and work on solving problems.

exactly
the elft and him have promoted a man is not needed in a family, they have promoted the woman to go out and not need a guy.
They have promoted taking kids to shrinks and getting drugs.
They have prommoted a generation to think about themselves and not give up their own personal life than actually spending time with kids.
They have promoted shrinks, the Govt to raise kids because the mother is tired from working and there is no father.

Jessie you and your ilk have created this new age family and you reap what you have sown sadly

Noting that, “It’s easier (in the United States) to buy a gun than a cup of coffee,” Jackson said,

No one asks to see my pistol permit or fill out two forms at Starbucks.

“You don’t hunt with semi-automatic weapons,” Jackson said.

Yes I do, regularly.

“These are designed to kill people.”

Just like Planned Parenthood.

Jesse is so full of crap/

They don’t sell guns at Wawa, 7-11’s, Dunkin Donuts, or most restaurants I ever went to.

One of the things that would quell violence is if Jesse stayed home, paid his child support, and STFU.

He might have spent a little more time with his son and taught him not to steal

Good old Jesse the preacher with no Church. Is the Rainbow Coalition his only source of income? Has he ever worked a day in his life?

Jesse does not want to stop the murder or he would demand the gang thugs be imprisoned and that the production of children out of wedlock be undermined and shunned. Jesse, the fake Christian likes the violence as he likes the whores. He does not like his homies shot by the victims in the commission of crime.

heard that Kristinn woman from the left wing this morning say they cannot control Hollywood or games but they coudl deal with guns

HUH.

Maybe we can deal with parents who do no raise their kids right first.
If parents raised their kids as they should then this crap would not happen like it is.
morals, discipline, respect, attention, get knocked down then get up .

Of course kids in the early 20’s and late teens turn ut as they do because parents have not taught them how to deal with the real world, to them they think it;s all about me

He’d also be doing his constituents a favor if he told them it’w wrong to kill black people.
