Adam Lanza's Hard Drive Damaged Beyond Repair? Motive for Shooting Hidden
Christian Post ^ | 12/18/12 | Brittney Villalva

Adam Lanza's hard drive, which was found destroyed in his Connecticut home, may be beyond repair police say, leaving them at a loss to explain the shooter's motive.

When police first discovered the tainted hard drive, they believed that it could serve as a key piece of evidence in discovering why a 20-year-old man would terrorize an elementary school filled with children. It appears, however, that the shooter did not want his motive unveiled.

"The computer's hard drive appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screw driver," law enforcement authorities told ABC News on Monday. Two other sources reported to a local Connecticut paper that the hard drive had been in pieces.

"He was eliminating [investigators'] ability to figure out what websites he had gone to or who he might have been communicating with," one investigator told Yahoo.

The little information that police do have confirms that Lanza was an avid player of violent video games.

Will88, I started the comments on the “hammer or screwdriver”, and I was just noting that the sentence construction is odd, with a disconnect between what should be simple-to-differentiate tool marks on the hard drive.

The “or” statement is a direct quote (which actually doesn’t necessarily mean much, with ‘journalists’ these days).

It would definitely have been a cause for a follow-up question, IMO, if the reporter had his head halfway on straight.

. I sat it on a cement car port, took a 6 foot long 1 inch thick steel bar with a chisel tip, and smashed, smashed, smashed! I could not break the hard drive! I bent it a little, but could not break i

A geologist's hammer (mason's hammer, bricklayer's hammer):

would be more effective. Use the pointed end. You'll punch holes though the housing and the platter(s).

Well, to be fair, they can’t state WHO damaged the drives unless they have witnesses, or copious forensic evidence. That omission doesn’t bother me.

So, it looks like this kid was at least recruited for this mission via his computer. And the authorities are THREATENING TO PROSECUTE ANYONE WHO QUESTIONS THE OFFICIAL NARRATIVE ON THE SHOOTING IN SOCIAL MEDIA.

Bloomberg blames guns when he’s constipated - everything is the fault of a gun, somewhere, somehow.

True story about my former (fool) boss, if you'll indulge me.

We used to shred hard drives to get rid of them. Toss them in an industrial shredder, chops them up into pieces about the size of your fingernail. They're completely unrecoverable, and the shredder can do several hundred in a morning. (the time spent is important, because we had to watch them all get fed into the shredder. Can't take the chance that one would get stuck in someone's pocket and the data be compromised.....)

Anyhoo, my genius boss changed the company policy. All drives needed to wiped to DoD standards - that's overwritten (7? 35? didn't do it, so I didn't care) times ....... BEFORE they were shredded. "We had to be sure they're unrecoverable", don't you know. The overwrite would take days per drive to do....a massive project, and a bigger waste of time.

My solution? I pointed at the huge bin of chipped up hard drive bits and said "Yep. I wiped 'em, just like you asked." Basically dared him to prove me wrong.

Then I found another job. Different boss, different issues. At least this one isn't a complete idiot. :-)

Long story short, it's not hard to make a hard drive un recoverable. But the ISP will have records, as would Facebook, MS, Yahoo, DU, or whatever other sites he was found to frequent.

I'd like to put on my conspiracy theory hat, but this is more likely just some idiot reporter, writing what he was told (or kust making stuff up out of whole cloth).

"I find it very challenging to believe that as this young, highly-troubled lunatic was preparing for his attack, he actually took the time to think: "I don't want investigators to have lots of evidence from which to dissect my motives, so I'm going to destroy my hard drive." "

Bingo. Adam shot his mother (or so we're told) in the face then shot 20 children multiple times each and we're supposed to think he was worried WHAT PEOPLE WOULD THINK ABOUT HIM and his online history???? Seriously???

Destruction of the hard drives was more likely done to PROTECT THE PERSON OR ENTITY ON THE OTHER SIDE of his communications.

When the lead sheriff comes and out threatens to prosecute anyone who questions the official narrative of what happened, something very 'false flaggish' is going on, IMO.

Yesterday I was checking out the video website Live leak, and one guy on there posted something to the effect that the father of Adam Lanza and the father of James Holmes the Aurora shooter, both worked at the same banking firm. Don’t know it that is true, probably not, but if it is that would be a strange coincidence even though I don’t know what kind of a connection that would present anyway to these shootings.

We just do not know at this point but there are many strange coincidences surrounding both of these guys. The truth is out there... not in print or on TV but the truth exists and maybe we will find it one day.

The reporter and/or spokesman could very well be the source of the issue. Still, I find the construction of the sentence odd.

Perhaps one day we’ll have an information based society where getting it all accurate would be prized. Certainly not the case today.

Yep like the CO theatre shooter.

Having worked in a major hospital's ER for 20 years I can assure everyone that some people don't need a “motive”.That particularly applies to the drug/alcohol addled as well as the neurobiologically impaired (this kid is said to have been autistic).
