Talk Radio Network Entertainment has announced that Andrea Tantaros, co-host of Fox news Channel's "The Five," will fill the time-slot recently vacated by Laura Ingraham. "The Andrea Tantaros Show" will air Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to Noon EST starting Wednesday, January 2nd.

The Washington Times has called her “the most pragmatic personality on The Five… who has already had a lifetime of experience despite only being in her 30s. Talk Radio Network CEO Mark Masters says, “In a post 2008–2009 economy, we have been seeking shows that are highly entertaining, yet responsible and profitable for our station affiliates and advertisers. Andrea has the ability to do both. She’s a fresh voice who will inject new energy to the airwaves.” Tantaros added, “I’m thrilled to partner with TRN on this exciting opportunity. They’re the best in the business at making sure affiliates and audiences get hard hitting and informative commentary that keeps them coming back for more. I promise you this: it’s going to be fun.”

Ingraham's new show, via Courtside Entertainment, debuts the same day. Wonder how many stations will carry Laura, and how many, Andrea?

Jason Mattera will be a part of the show.

Talk Radio Network Entertainment says “The Andrea Tantaros Show” will launch 1/2 in the Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to Noon ET time slot. The show promises to engage listeners who want to be informed and entertained with smart, edgy, and funny but responsible commentary on politics, pop culture Wall Street and entertainment.
Tantaros is a political commentator and syndicated columnist best known for her role as a co-host of Fox News Channel’s hottest hit show, “The Five”. She serves up unfiltered and unconventional analysis, offering audiences candid and often humorous insight into politics, policy, current events and our country’s most contentious culture wars. She has hard won experience ranging from radio to Capitol Hill to high profile political campaigns.
She’ll be joined by Jason Mattera, a two-time New York Times bestselling author, the youngest editor of a national periodical, Human Events, and the host of “The Jason Mattera Show” on weekends at WABC in New York. Ann Coulter has crowned Mattera a “national treasure,” Michelle Malkin says his work is a “heat-seeking missile.”
Mattera has appeared on numerous major talk radio and television programs since 2005, including: The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity, Fox & Friends, Your World with Neil Cavuto, Imus, Varney & Co., C-SPAN, CNN, The Mark Levin Show, Neal Boortz and scores more.
The Washington Times has called Tantaros “the most pragmatic personality on The Five… who has already had a lifetime of experience despite only being in her 30s. Andrea’s calm, yet reasoned personality mixed with a quick tongue and biting sense of humor make her a powerful presence.”

comments from radio discussions.com:

>>Was David Lee Roth busy?

>LOL Wow. Double wow. I thought Ingraham was a predictable, one-sided bore, but Andrea Tantaros? Really? She’s a moron. Has she ever even done radio before. DLR would be better.

>?>The fact that there’s an official second “host” is probably not a good sign.

Andrea’s great. Smart, funny, pragmatic and easy on the eyes on “The Five” on Fox. Hope she continues with that gig too.

Was hoping Monica Crowley had taken over for Laura. Andrea is OK, but all she does is Fox News and occasional articles. So she has not really built a following. It makes sense she is on The Five with Beckel because all she did between about 07 and 2009 was debate Beckel on Fox News. It was a pairing the channel loved on shows.

I agree that she’s not very bright—the kind of dull, RINO ‘conservative’ that a liberal would pick to highlight.

I would willingly accept the unpaid position of personal body slave to Andrea Tantaros.

Lot of leftists at that forum, but we just don’t know how good Andrea will be. But I can say she holds her own and is feisty on Fox News. I doubt she will be like Dana Loesch though. Dana is tough and sticks by convictions. She considers herself so far to the right that she wants some form of conservative-anarchy because she wants to really get rid of big government and cut spending real drastically. More than even people on this site. She always makes me think. Ann Barnhart is a similar person to Dana. Only that Dana won’t do something like stop paying taxes. She has a child or two. Not sure how many.

She came out of the grassroots. She used to be good with her criticisms of the party. Basically now, she is in line with the establishment when it comes down to the end. That's our problem-them vs the people. Why not someone else who more people can relate to and someone that can open people's way of thinking ...There are so many other radio talkers out there who need more attention. Can we move away from chicks with an overdo of makeup, glossy liners w/ fake spider lashes and who wears fashions that look as though a lady of the evening would have on to catch any nightly prey. Let's get someone who has loyalty to the people, not to the inner circles. That first, then beauty or non - beauty. ( I don't consider her a beauty nor some of those others on Foxy) M. Kelly is a natural beauty but days, she's spacey). Enough of the same bunch though guess it's not meant to be.

I agree.

Here’s a clip of her claiming to be some sort of principled Republican, but she’s praising the GOP House for budget cuts that we all know weren’t real budget cuts, and then she patronizingly suggests that Palin belongs not in politics, but fighting the culture war as a replacement to Oprah or whatever:

You are very right. Her own words speak volumes. Every time, the establishment needs her to cut someone down in a most unique and personal way, she does it. She’s an operative now. Grassroots person made her fortune and fame. I rather trust a person who calls out the party vs. one who parties and rides in limos with them round Washington, D.C. Everything is so well oiled. Too bad, there was not a wealthy conservative who would not invest into a new conservative programing network. Fox is becoming too much New York mindset and trying to make that thinking main-street America. That’s the problem too and the propaganda won’t stop. I recall Andrea telling us to chill about the bail outs (while we were making calls and writing letters pleading with the elected not to do that-she went along with the insiders-she doesn’t want Palin in the game or people as Palin-she got the memo) I am following that scent.
