At a press conference this afternoon, President Obama called for an assault weapons ban (AWB), limits on ammunition magazine capacity and background checks for all private firearms sales. He urged Congress to “hold votes on these measures next year.” “I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees a right to an individual right to bear arms,” the President assured Americans. But, he insisted, the majority of law-abiding gun owners agree that it’s a good idea to remove the public’s access to “weapons of war.” The President assured Americans that the new, VP-led task force’s “concrete proposals” won’t be long in coming or languish. Once again, the President vowed to use “all the powers of his office” to implement the findings, which will [no doubt] include an AWB, mag cap bans and federal intrusion into firearms sales between individuals.
Or would have been until Britain stopped defending itself and largely stopped reproducing its own citizens.
For now: we are all intended to become a "colony" of Washington, DC, as formerly sovereign states and their citizens are encouraged to abandon even the pretense of virtue, and line up to surrender their freedom in exchange for the promise of comfortable servitude.
To Hell with that.
If you notice all these mass shootings happen in Gun Free Zones and left wing states. Granted Arizona is a bit purple, think McCain and Janet Napolitano, but leans republican. Still the county where it happened was democrat, the guy was left wing, the people in the city voted for Obama.
How would they enforce this? They might be able to enforce it at gun shows, but requiring it for all private sales is absurd. This requirement implies registration for all firearms...no other way to enforce it.
The writers of the constitution wisely placed all personal weapon issues completely beyond the reach of congress (”shall not be infringed”).
When this President failed to authorize cross border authority to protect dozens of Americans under attack in Benghazi, did he ever stop to think about the deaths that would result ?
When this President supported Islamic rebel fighters in Syria and Libya, did he ever stop to think about the deaths that would result ?
When this President failed to stop the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program, did he ever stop to think of the deaths that will result ?
Now that he can use a domestic shooting to remove guns from the only people who could stop an Islamic or Socialist takeover of the US, now he cares about deaths ?

We need to arm schools so they can use weapons when needed. A security officer or the school administration or the principal. The time ti takes to notice what is going on, calling the police and waiting for their arrival costs lives. As far as one is concerned nobody know what a gun man or mass murderer will do so time is too precious to waste. Someone needs to just shoot him down and end it all.
Right. It proves my point that all left wing areas are where the mass shootings happen.They are gun free zones where nobody can defend themselves and the gunman can run free without worry and they are places where deranged people live. Bad combination.

btw, how do we know for sure the weapon was not one of obaba’s fast&furious guns that though intended to arm illegal drug/crime gangs, somehow got delivered to the wrong person?

When is someone in a position of authority going to stand up and say that the 2nd ammendment is not about personal protection or hunting? Its about people being able to have access to military grade weapons so they can protect themselves from a tyrant. I have not heard one Rep or Senator with the guts to tell Barry that its not a good idea to remove the public’s access to weapons of war.
I would submit it is about all of the above.
It is freedom of speech not a specific speech.
It is freedom of religion not just some religions.
It is the right to redress grievances not just some grievances.
does that include the pen?
the photocopier?
personal computer?
the written word?
the spoken word?
gatherings of more than two?
the zombies will not give up their obamaswag easily.

You have put your finger on the critical point that almost everyone is ignoring: Obama is steadily becoming a dictator. We are already in a tyranny! Obama has a popular mandate to do whatever he deems necessary [like leaving ambassadors and military personnel unprotected and unsupported in a terrorist environment]; the Congress has a popular mandate to drop dead... what do people think will be the outcome of that situation?
In Fornicalia, of all places, an overwhelming portion of the electorate opposed same-sex marriage in a voters' referendum. It was added to the state constitution. A radical minority went to a corrupt judge who overturned the will of the people... and the activists partied in the streets that the popular will had been overthrown. How can this be healthy for freedom?
To the gun right [which is balanced on the edge of knife]: a few weeks ago the same incident happened at a school in China - the murder of over two dozen children! The perp used a knife! Once we have taken all the guns, we will then have to take all the knives.
Then some enterprising nut will commit an atrocity with a ball bat - and we will have to outlaw those. Then someone will choke a bunch of helpless folks and we will have to amputate everyone's hands - everyone except the privileged class, of course.
Ben Franklin said that those who trade freedom for safety will end up with neither... we are going down that path as the tyranny of the government increases. :-/

The 2nd Amendment has as much to do with hunting as screaming "Oh, God" during sex has to do with religion.
