Extra days off for teachers. Imagine that.
I’m sure the Teachers’ Union Members won’t be docked a day’s pay for the un-productive day off.....probably several thousands of dollars paid for not showing up at all!
I don’t know what they are famous for teaching, but wisdom isn’t it.
I’d go with that’s their “cover story”. More likely they’re doing it to stave off some dumbasses trying a Connecticut redux.
I would have more repect for them if they closed to celebrate FESTIVUS

Nothing new with the New Agers. Many many years ago there was an alignment of the planets. The N Agers said the world would be racked by earthquakes destroying everything except a few places.
Nothing happened.
I remember Paul Harvey saying that it would have really set them off IF there had been just a minor trembler somewhere.
Then there were all those N agers in the 1980s who gathered at various historic ruins, joined hands and said A-h-h-h to get the world back in balance.
Yes, it is time to reopen the closed mental institutions for psychos and new agers.
We Michigan folk are just wacky like that. I think it’s something in the lake water.
please tell me that no one with the I.Q. of a grapefruit takes seriously the end of the world scenario that is presented by the Mayan calendar.....if I shoild happen to wake up on 12/22/12, I’ll be able to say “I told you so”
It’s true that dozens of schools are closed up here, but it has nothing to do with the Mayan calendar. We’re being hammered by Snowstorm Draco.
Quite a few years back a lot of schools closed in Arkansas when some guy predicted an earthquake from the New Madrid fault.

In Detroit, it probably doesn’t make much difference in the kids’ lives whether they go to school or not...
