A 'what if' gun-seizure scenario
WND ^ | December 20, 2012 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 12/21/2012 7:18:13 AM PST by Perseverando

Exclusive: Joseph Farah warns, 'Something very bad for America is coming'

(Editor’s note: The following commentary by Joseph Farah is a hypothetical scenario, but one all-too-believable given the anti-gun hysteria in the media and here in the nation’s capital. It is offered in the spirit of what former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel once said: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”)

WASHINGTON – President Obama today issued a sweeping executive order banning the manufacture, sale and possession of all semi-automatic firearms in the U.S.

Obama cited for his authority for the action a national state of emergency that has been in effect ever since Sept. 11, 2001, and renewed annually by both President George W. Bush and Obama ever since. He also cited portions of the Patriot Act that suspend certain civil rights that remain classified.

The dramatic action by the president follows closely on the heels of the Newtown, Conn., massacre of 27 schoolchildren and teachers by Adam Lanza a week ago.

Gun-control advocates have been pushing for tighter gun control ever since the attack on the Sandy Hook Elementary School, the fourth mass shooting in the U.S. in 2012.

Yet the action was surprising because Obama vowed to present a detailed plan of action in January after naming Vice President Joe Biden to head a blue-ribbon panel including Cabinet members, law enforcement officials and various agencies of the government. Biden convened the first meeting of the panel only yesterday.

That’s how quickly it could happen.

That’s how liberty could be lost in America in one day.

For many, today was the day the world was supposed to end, according to the Mayan calendar and other ancient documents.

Another keyboard - RUINED by coffee !

On topic - This sort of declaration will have fallout in other areas that need to be addressed.

A run on the banks : Right now, even a perceived run on the banks will lock the banking institutions tight.

The hiding of weapons : there is a saying out lately. “If you’re thinking of prepping, you’re too late”. You get the drift. There is a MESS of paperwork out there right now in relations to the ownership of guns. The government HAS been keeping records, but those records are so destroyed that it’s data confidence is ruined. So when “they” show up at the door, and ask for a few certain pieces that may be sold (legitimately) or traded in, they won’t find them ! And what does that mean ? What’s next ?

The US will deploy drones, en masse : Many people are waiting for the government to “pull the trigger” on such a law. From that point, they will clear out their safes and hide them throughout the wilderness. I guarantee the deployment of Drones to detect such things. I guarantee those drones are in the sky _right now_.

Neighbor reward plans : People WILL be offered incentive to point out, or turn in suspects believed to have contraband.

Gun store intimidation : The stores will be raided for their paperwork. That is WHY the government has asked THE STORES THEMSELVES to hold that paperwork. Whenever the government involves a private responsibility, under penalty of prison, they are doing so to maintain perfect records. If the store does not present such records, the owner will be imprisoned immediately. Once the owner DOES offer records, the owner himself will be “questioned” and “Investigated” to produce all firearms in their possession as well. What we’re looking at is the immediate criminalization of all weapon owners. This means now.

The turn-in : For those willing to turn anything in, they must remember that the ownership has been declared “Illegal” before the time of gun turn-in. This is like being a drug dealer showing up at the police department and turning in your stash. You aren’t going home that night, no sir.

And I have to interject : A bit of tin foilery - I do NOT believe that the latest shootings are haphazard. I have reason to believe they are orchestrated. I have a VERY good reason to believe this. When the government does declare weapons “Illegal” there WILL be shooting in the streets. But it won’t be any of us doing it. It will be continuation of the orchestrated events that we have been seeing up until now.

I want you to think about something, and this something is all I’m willing to say : During the event in Newtown, police reported a “Red or burgundy vehicle with a blown out rear window - New Jersey plates” and then reported 3 people “of interest”. An active crime scene for an extended time. Ryan Lanza is pinpointed as the shooter, and it is reported (Before 10:30 am) that his girlfriend and friend have gone missing in New Jersey. 3 people identified at Sandy Hook scene.

The shooter was “supposed to be” Ryan.

There are psy-ops currently in place to make the world CHEER the detaining and ultimately “Dealing with” us. These psy-ops are meant to win over the mass public. We are meant to go down. They will be designed to cheer.

Keep your heads about you, and god bless !

Congress should immediately move to pass sweeping legislation that makes the use and possession of “moveable type” presses and any other document producing equipment.

The Constitution of the US is a covenant between we the people and the government. We agree to live under the law and the government agrees to uphold the constitution.

If the government suspends the constitution, then we are no longer obligated to support that government. At that point all bets are off. Do our leaders really want to deal with a people that are no longer committed to obey the law?

This won’t happen, but if it DID happen, it would be interesting to see how the Feds would enforce it in (say) Texas. Or Oklahoma. Or North Dakota. Or Wyoming.

Now see, you flew right over Kansas without acknowledgement. I'm sure we're all in, except for Lawrence.

There is the little problem of “enforcement”.

1 - Many weapons have NO traceability.

2 - Many places don’t have “registration”, and would have to use ILLEGAL methods of tracing, via background check paperwork.

3 - Who is going to come and get the ones not turned in voluntarily?

“Hand a liberal an empty magazine, a revolver, a box of shells for the magazine, and tell them, “to go have some fun!”

I wonder how long it would take them to realize that shells don't go into "magazines" (unless it's a rare mag-fed shotgun) and magazines don't go into revolvers.

How many of you are willing to fight a SWAT team? Has a drone taken radar pictures of your home, and show where every gun is? Think it out people, and don’t become a sheeple.

You’ll turn in your guns, if you’re hungry enough.

Very true. And we know from history how much communists love using starvation to control the populace!

How stupid are you?

First, “they” don’t know where half of them are.

There are boat loads not “registered” or required to be “registered”.

Signing background check paperwork IS NOT “registration”.

Private sales, family gifts, theft, and loss, are NOT reportable transactions.

The left has a group-think going - they've built a consensus around their passion - as if the intensity of beliefs was connected to the truth of those beliefs. We have to learn to talk to them in the irrational ways of their thought processes...

The left would love us to attempt force to their force... trust me, they hate us that much. Traditional Americans are the enemy of the left. Leftists know taking guns from citizens won't make a difference. That's not their goal. A gun grab won't 'protect the children'. They know that - we know that... Too bad their trolls don't know ...

“How do you envision that they’ll make those of us in the country “hungry enough”?”

Well, those who are well prepared have no immediate food issues. All the Feds need to do is cut off the Golden Hordes’ EBT cards and turn them loose on us.

Then the gun-grabbers can pick off any hold-outs/survivors...

We could conveniently rid the country of most of the taker-useful idiots for them...BUT, DHS/USPS/Etc didn’t buy all those hollowpoints for fighting Al Qaeda.... And I suspect they won’t be using them on their surviving voting bloc.

Helpful hint of the day: If you’re going to have a boating accident soon, make sure you didn’t purchase Cosmoline with a credit card. Just sayin’....

It could happen, but if we follow what Obama has been doing I think it will play out more like this. I really don't think the dems really care about firearms they want to expand government any was they can and the most effective way is through taxes.

So if you want a high capacity magazine you will be able to buy one only there will be a $100 dollar federal tax on it the same for firearms. They could also require a federal license to own firearms. You can bet it will cost thousands of dollars and will have to be renewed every year.

Thanks the the Supreme Court ruling under Obamacare, the federal government now has unlimited authority so long as they call it a tax.

The dems will say that the “fees” collected will go to improving federal mental health programs. Its for the children you know.

The Republicans are walking into another trap.

All they have to do is get through a hail of .30 coming at them from 100+ yards away to get close enough to use them.

If so, I wish they would share the data, because I can't keep track of them all.

How many SWAT teams are there? Because there are 80 million or more firearm owners out here in flyover country. I don't expect many will just sit around waiting for their turn.

BTW, those all-powerful SWAT teams? Don't they have to eat? I'd skip the peach cobbler at the dining hall, if I were you.

BTW, can anyone help me out on the Newtown shooting and the “assault weapons” ban discussion? Wasn’t the AR-15 found in the trunk of Lanza’s car and not in the school? Anyone have a link to an article?

Confiscating guns would be like sending people into bear caves to remove claws. It could be done, but it would be one ugly mess. I've spent some time with a holocaust survivor and I have listened intently to every word she said about how her rights were taken slowly one at a time. Even as she was walking to the trains with her family, she trusted the Polish government was moving them "for their own safety".

Anyway, I just don't think Americans will be falling for that any time soon. I can't imagine my neighbors hiding their guns away or peacefully disarming. I can imagine them recreating the Alamo redneck style though.

3 - Who is going to come and get the ones not turned in voluntarily?

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

Interesting - I think WND is wrong on the national state of emergency.

I think the office of the president, through executive orders has maintained a continuous official state of emergency in the United States since @1934.

The last time I researched this in detail, under Clinton that was the case (a long standing state of emergency).

Bush continued the practice, but changed the publication/announcement procedures slightly.

The question, that I have never answered to my satisfaction, is “what actions are enabled by the government when there is a declared national emergency, and which ones are currently taking place?”
